I have voted for the 90s.. This wasnt playmobil's golden era ( 1977-1987) as i like to call it but the 90s was the decade of the best sets for me anyways!!!! yes, yes its steck, mediaval etc etc :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup: :yup:
Shame really all these lovely mediaval houses are not out again with new accessories :hissyfit:

the golden period i think was end of 80's and mid 90's because available were all the steck the houses the old castles the new steck castles 3666...etc the old western the best pirate time had all three ships on market 3550,3740,3750 all the victorian sets and houses the theme that wasen't so good back then was the city life the fire theme ...and the modern sets ...

I voted for everything except the 70s. the old playmobil is cute in a primitive sort of way, but I think they drastically improved in the mid 80s. And I like the figures themselves better than ever now. They are a lot more detailed now and have interesting outfits and hairstyles.

well the seventies was a very productive period for playmobil all the framework houses were made ,steck ,the 3550 ship and all the first western houses ;)

yes that is true. I know this may be total heresy, but... I've never been all that attached to steck. :-[ It's probably just because I've never had that much of it. The only steck I have is an old western ranch. It was definitely a lot easier to put together, I guess. but you couldnt pick it up and move it, which was annoying because I always played on carpet, so it didn't slide well. I basically just wish they would pick a system and stay with it, and it wouldn't bother me if they picked system X. But I realize a lot of people who care alot more would pick steck. My area of interest doesn't involve that many buildings, so I don't get a vote! 8-)

oh , i'am not obsest either as other memebers here but i think it's the best building system of playmobil . well about you said that was difficult to move it , you know what was i was doing as a kid i had a big thick paper from boxes and i moved my castles this way ,i don't know if you have any of the new castles it is very difficult to move you try to move it and it gets destroyed :( :( :( :(

Yeah I don't have any castles at all. But my husband is starting to collect knights, so I'm sure we will soon! Right now, all he has is a take-along castle.

Wait until he gets to discover other, more complex castles...that when the fun (and space probems) will begin!!!

I voted for the 90's and the 00's. While I find the 70's sets to be a tad plain, I do like a lot of the 80's sets, but I think Playmobil got considerably better in the 90's. That is the decade in which the medieval and Western sets reached their peak, in my opinion. I also like the Romans and Egyptians that came out in the 00's very much.

no this is wrong the western theme was in the eighties in it's bests ,the western train the station the sallon , sheriff office drug- store the church the water tank ranch two coaches fort bravo etc..... were all made in the 80's .in the 90's we have only two steck buildings a sheriif's office and a sallon a new fort (fort glory) three coaches + a goldmine you can choose i believe the western sets from the 80's are better . now about the medieval and castles the 90's was a great period we had 3666 new figures ,nice sets but in the 70's and 80's we had all the framework houses which was good for building a city with the 1993 medieval sets only you can't built a good city because there are no houses . ;)

You're right in that most of the Western buildings were from the 1980's, but I like the newer Sheriff's Station, Saloon, and Steck Fort better than their earlier counterparts.
