Check out pics from last time I set up my zoo here:

These are from back in April. I haven't set it up since then, but I've added a lot of stuff, like the old jungle ruins for my jaguar exhibit, a giraffe feeding station, an elephant ride, and camel rides.

Wow!! That's a great zoo you have made Bonniebeth! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: I like it very much!
Thanks for sharing with us!
Baden

Thank you, thank you very much. 8-)
It's definitely a work in progress, lacking a lot of finishing touches. I'm dying to set it all up again, but I probably can't until late fall, because we are about to have a remodel at my house. Of course I always have some of it out. Strange but I actually miss my klickys when they're not out. I can't leave town without taking a few, or I will run to the nearest TRU and buy some! :hmm:

What a great zoo!!! I liked the flamingo pond a lot!!! And the use of the hut from the pirate island as observation point!!! What did you use to produce the water effect bonniebeth?
-
Great Zoo, Bonniebeth. Did I spot an albino Elephant there?
-

Thank you everyone! I'm glad you like it.

Yes, you did! I finally got one on ebay after waiting a long time for a reasonable price.
how do you make that water??
I wrap a piece of cardboard in crinkled aluminum foil, and then in blue cellophane (you can get it at a party store). Looks very convincing, especially if you were to line the edges with stones or something. I haven't done that yet, but I think I will next time.

Great zoo, Bonniebeth, and I too think the water you have created looks great! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

Thank you so much for sharing these. I got loads of ideas from your Zoo and hope it's ok if I use some of them.
The water for starters is just marvelous and some of the combinations you used is certainly worth investigating further :-)

Of course you can. I'd be honored. Glad I could help! :D I would love to see pics of your zoo, too!

Only thing we have build is the entrance building. Other then that we are in the very elaborate planning stage!!!
Our current project is to create a dedicated playmoden like many other members have!!
When that is done we need to start sorting our collection and after that we can start working on the zoo! So I guess it won't be for a while :-(

Yes, I would really love a permanent playmobil room, too. Then I could leave it set up all the time. Maybe someday...
-
I sincerely hope you'll have this special room someday... we are currently living in an appartment, but we are looking for a house to buy, so we could have more room for our klickies 8} 8} 8} 8} 8}
thanks for explaining for water, it will be easier and less dirty than what we usually do (aquarelle paint... but our Playmobils are blue after that...)

Thank you. I hope you do too. You see it is difficult here in Louisiana because the attic is not usable due to the heat and humidity nine months out of the year -- most homes here don't have a second floor because it is difficult to keep cool. And homes here don't (ever) have basements, because the water table is so high, you dig one foot and you hit water! So my options are limited. What we want is to put an outbuilding in the back yard, but it will have to be air conditioned... Oh well, it will work out sooner or later.

Wonderful zoo, some great ideas there. I was happy to see that there will be more of the African animals as add-ons next year. Too bad the gnu isn't available still.
I've never set up my entire zoo. i have a lot of fencing and so on but an awfully big range of animals to find homes for too. Maybe while the weather is nice this summer I should try to do an outside set-up. I have lots of room outside, not so much inside.

Yeah, I wish the gnu would come available again, too. I just buy them from Baden! ;D
I was happy to see we will be able to get them as add-ons, too. I'll be buying the warthogs that way, as I don't really like the set they come with. And since they're social animals, I'd have to buy about four of that set!
