Greetings all.
I finally found my way to this forum. I was on the "other" Playmobil forum that went under ...
Oh well, this one is quite active and obviously has inspired some very great things in the world of Playmobil, from the posts I have read so far (ie mit Herr Bandstatter and the Playmobil Collectors Club!).
About me: I first started playing with Playmobil as a child when my mother purchased for me a couple of sets of knights following that up with some US Cavalry (or Union soldiers) and a couple civilians and a sheriff. Sadly, I did not have any of the buildings. Playmobil was very hard to find here in Canada and also very expensive then (mid - late 70's).
Now that I have children they too have been lovingly given Playmobil and enjoy it greatly. (I started to buy Playmobil for my oldest before she was even born - just wish I would have/could have gotten more - LOL). With 5 children and another on the way (December) there will be lots of years of playing ahead! (Now, if people could just convince my wife that all these large blue boxes are really not that bid and do not take up that much room ...)
Anyway, it's good to be here and I am looking forward to lots of positive Playmobil info and reforming contacts I had lost.
(I also believe I owe Martin a few dollars for a ship he was kind enough to mail me just as the "other" Playmobil forum went under.)

Hello Wesley Myers, and welcome to Playmofriends from the UK

Welcome from Hong Kong
It is good to see you here again, and congratulations on another lovely baby coming to your family!!
Did your daughters like the nuns? Hope they do~~~~!!!
-
Thank you!
Yes, they like the nuns. We kept one in the package and the other we opened. In fact, they had forgotten about it 'till early this week and when I brought it out again they were quite happily surprised.

This is so cool learning about that, and it gives me a hint you home must be filled with A LOT OF playmobil boxes 8-) I usually just tear the package off once I receive something new >:D
Post more and you will gain access to the trading subforum where you can once again swap with all fellow playmobil lovers around the world.

If you do I've forgotten all about it Wesley! ;D
I'm still holding 20 Spanish Soldiers for a guy in Spain as I never had his postal address, but they've kind of been absorbed into my Spanish Army now...
Welcome to PlaymoFriends, it's good to see ex-Playmoboard members slowly finding their way here. I'd rather Playmoboard had never gone down, or had been fixed in a timely fashion so people could return to it because I enjoyed having two forums to visit, but at least we aren't losing all contact!
cheers, Martin

Hi again Wesley... glad you made it over here! I hope you have lots of fun!

Hullo Wesley!
I too am Canadian, though we moved to the states when I was very young.
We still go there atleast once a year to visit family though.
I was gonna ask my Grandmother this,
but maybe you can help me...
If Playmobil Canada does not ship straight to the US,
Perhaps you could take them and then send them too me? ???
If it's not too hard.
There are alot of sets in Canada that you can't get in the states. ;D

Hi Martin,
It was the viking ship and row boat from ebay.uk.co - the guy would ship it to you down the lane, but not to me in Canada... Ring any bells?
You did a fantastic job at packing it - and all that while you were getting ready to move!

There are also a lot of sets you can get in the USA but you can't get here.
So yes, I can get some for you - please do not inundate me at the moment with orders - lol. I just happen to teach with the local Catholic school board and we are all 10 month employees - so we only get paid for 10 months of the year so money can be short in the summer time.
I would be happy to trade with anyone (or just order for you).

Welcome from the UK, Wesley.
Our most famous Canadian member here is Heather of playmoDB.
She has done (and is doing!) an amazing job with Playmodb.org!!! I really don't know what I would do without it, to be honest. It has helped get so many part numbers for me and helped me to figure out what goes in what sets I have acquired.
I don't know if I could say thank you enough to her. (and here's hoping I do not become the most infamous ...)
