Title: Just needed a couple more
Post by: Gis on June 25, 2010, 12:51:31
So here is a pic of all the blue boxes I got in the last 24 hours :-)

For my city project I needed the parts from 4666 and luckily I knew a gas station along the highway I drive weekly still had these. They were 3,10 Euro, but I really didn't think I would find them anywhere else for that price. I'll post pictures of what I did with them in my Steck.... thread. Does anyone have an explenation for the weird colour of these Special boxes?

This morning I needed to go to my regular toyshop to get the 4928's Andy R wanted to have. I was planning on maybe buying one extra one for myself but nothing more. Of course you all know how these things work. The 4143 was for half price and I really couldnt leave it there for 8 Euro's it was the last one. The 3315's were also on sale so I bought all four remaining boxes, they were 5 instead of 8 Euro.

I was also temped to buy the new skip lorrie but couldnt justify it just yet. It was also on sale for 25 instead of 35 Euro. They still ha dmany of those so I will need to discuss with my wife how we will approach the Zoo project. If we just go for the animals in the zoo then we dont need it. If we will go for a more completye picture I think we should definitaly need it. We'll see how the discussions go.

Thanks for looking.

Those are some great buys - and the little tractor looks very good (great for your zoo) :)

That 4143 tractor is an interesting set, containing both the newer realistic wood/silver tools and some older, frankly silly pale blue tools. I wonder why they mixed them?  ???

The open-top tractor died out, at least in Wiltshire UK, some years ago, maybe it was too small or too noisy for my Great Uncle's farm. I've seen several here in the US very similar to this, and with much thinner wheels than we see in the UK, suggesting very hard dry ground.

I like the 3315 Knight, but he'sa  loner at the moment in my collection. If they do a set of footsoldiers to accompany him, then he'd have a better entourage.

I agree with you that he is ok as a loner. However the parts that come with the set are very good. I love that double bladed axe and more horsies are always welcome. the armor is also very usefull for custom klickies.

Great buys Gis! That tractor looks pretty cool, and good for your zoo like Damo said.

Might buy a couple more if they are still for sale this weekend as I need to bring back the 4928's (if I can find the receit). I am working on some kind of master plan for them but it's not finished yet....need to take a file to it and work on smoothing it out.
