Hello

Congratulations on getting a great looking figure. He looks to be in great shape and very happy in his new home. Maybe you could get him to build you a Playmo warehouse for your ever expanding collection  ???

Hello

Rasputin "The Mad Monk"

In fact he is not well at all. My guessing is that he is an early one as the plastic is wafer thin and very tacky, and he has cracked in a few small placed and the previous owners had just attacked him wildly with a hot glue gun :'(

His arms are also quite loose. Does anyone know how to get at them to tighten them up ???
People had apparently been shaking his hand when they met him, resulting in large pink scuffs around his waist due to the loose arms. But there will be no handshaling in this household
In fact I won't let anyone touch him ;D

However, he is in the bestest shape I have seen one sold, and a couple of years ago a spaceman one went for £75 with a whole chunk out of his helmet.

Last year on ebay there was a knight one in good condition, but the seller was asking £300 for it, so it went unsold.

Bob (named by previous owners) is well loved here, and will enjoy his new life :)

:shhhh: I do know how much was paid, but he was a very early Birthday present (very early in fact) but we all agreed that he couldn't stand in the corner with a sheet over him til October

But it cost £80 in diesel to go and pick him up, which was in my Step-dad's brand new fuel efficient VW van. It would have cost about double that in his Land Cruiser!

I have never seen a large version of that pirate, as I think he is too old and I don't think they made them around that time.

As regards to choosing, I think a main Klicky is chosen when a new theme/range is launched. Bob, I am guessing, is the main character from the construction theme launched in the late 90's (the era of 'Construct') ;)

I never search for any type of Playmobil - just Playmobil and they pop up. Bob was listed under 'collectables' and what with being located in Cornwall meant that he went so cheap, but would be difficult to find otherwise.

I would try such terms as:

'Giant' playmobil
'huge' playmobil
'life size' playmobil
'enormous' playmobil

etc etc

That's great - time to get spending! ;D

Oh, and 'playmobil shop' is also a good keyword, as some sellers may list these giant klickies and other interesting items as shop display or ex shop. (amongst the bakeries, banks, hairdressers etc) ;D

Annie (reylocann) and Rasputin touched on this subject briefly here:

The second page of that topic also contains a whole host of other photos of wonderful giant display figures posted by Karim.

The name really does suit him! He is lucky to have found a loving new home. :)
