Title: Small custom trailer
Post by: playmofire on June 20, 2010, 20:22:45
Here's a small custom trailer I made to go with my fire brigade general purpose support unit.  (There are details here, although since then the HIAB crane has been removed:  http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=1745.0)

The chassis and wheels are from the 4049 construction trailer and the loading area from the 3191 dinosaur transport.

Front and rear threequarter views to start with:

And then two photos of it being towed by the new fire 4x4.  It looks a bit oversize for the towing vehicle, however.

(The sharp-eyed amongst you will notice that the fire brigade logo on the 4x4 has disappeared.  Currently, it's just been overlaid with red Fablon as I'm not sure how or whether it will be possible to remove it by rubbing it down.  It seems to be a major printed area and I'm not too happy about the end result of trying to remove it.)

My, you hva been busy. Did you do them all this weekend?

I´m not very familiar with the playmobil fire dept items. Yours look like they came straight from the factory. Very well done.

Thank you, Ali Baba.

The trailer was finished this week and the custom work on the fire engines was done in the last few weeks.  I've a lot of things done which have been waiting to be photographed or finished off for some time.  There are also some reviews going back to last year and a story from May, 2009!  I'm gradually catching up with things.

Ooooo, I can't wait! ;D

This trailer would make a good plant trailer for my mini digger, if a wider ramp could be made - although normally the bed would sit between the wheels (something for me to look into) :)
