Hello
Today I set up my garden centre, although it was raining outside so this one had to be in the lounge, although it is a bit dark in the lounge.
Florashop sells a huge variety of plants, tools and garden furniture, with prices sure to make you not want to come back.
Where possible, most plants are grown on site, and the rest are brought in.
Enjoy,
Damo :)

There are always lots of jobs to be carried out around site:

Avie, Lizzie, and Flatcat have just purchased a sack of compost and two plants for £35.10
Money they will never get back.

Overview of the yard:

Entrance to the yard for deliveries etc:

Rubbish is deposited in skips, which are emptied unregularly. Empty pallets and cages are put aside, ready for collection by the supplier, otherwise Florashop will get fined if they do not get them returned:

A tractor with bowser brings in fresh water daily, as the only mains water supply is to the owner's house:

The tractors are all stored in the barn overnight, which is also the safest place for the safes. The old shipping container provides secure storage for tools, stock etc:

Once again a great setup Damo. Your work is always a joy to watch. I was happy to see Lizzie again but hope Avie is driving, otherwise I fear for their purchases.
-
Yes another excellent set up Damo! :wow: Like Gis said, every work of yours is a joy to watch.! Oh and who was Avie again? The one that Gis said about? I just can't quite remember.

Well, what more can be said. As ever, a joy to view and what great detail. The layout of the centre is just like the garden centres in the real world, there's the detail of the leaves in the tractor trailer and the crates and bits untidily tossed in to the skip - wonderful! Another contribution to go back time and again to enjoy.
:cheerlead: :cheerlead: :cheerlead: :cheerlead: :cheerlead: :cheerlead:
PS: Baden, I think Avie is flatcat's avatar.

Oops! :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ How could I ever forget that! Because then I thought well maybe its the cats name, but then i thought cats cant drive!

Great set up Damo!! Well done!!! Very beautifull and functional in all its detail!!
-
Thanks for such positive comments, Gis, Baden, Gordon and Panos! :) :) :)
The garden centre theme is what really got me into playmobil when I first saw it on holiday (I had a few bits left from early childhood) We ended up bringing nearly the whole range home on the plane from Menorca and it is still my all time favourite sets as I can still remember sitting by the pool at the villa playing with it in the shade of the midday sun
PS: Baden, I think Avie is flatcat's avatar.
Yes, short for avatar! ;D

This is brilliant Damo :wow: :wow: :wow:
As always your attention to detail and touches of humour are superb
But...I do wish you wouldn't keep showing such wonderful displays: I want a garden centre now!
I've kept looking at all the different sets on ebay and so far resisted but now..... :-[

Ditto! Is there any other toy product on the market that provides all the materials to build a Garden Centre?
Superb details and touches. My wife loves the raised nursery beds, and I am amused by the pallet jack and pallets (very familiar with these through my work). We stack our empty pallets 15 high and take them to a pickup point in the car park, where a truck comes to collect them. We also create bales of cardboard (lots of these), and bales of plastic wrapping, which have a few inches of cardboard each side and plastic in the middle like an ice cream sandwich.
I used to cycle to the Garden Centre at Syon House in London, where you could also visit the historic house and/or grounds, the National Trust Shop, and have a meal or light refreshments at the Café. Not long before leaving the UK I went there to see a re-enactment of the Battle of Brentford.

Now we actually have a garden, we've patronised several local places (Jerry's, Wal*Mart, Lowe's) which have a Gardening Center (!) but none of them realise that this can be turned into a whole day event with snacks and history thrown in.

Thanks Elaine and Martin! :)
We used to have a pallet truck at home, but then we sold it to make room in the shed :( It was great fun lifting stuff up with it and moving it around! :D

So your plans are becoming reality - excellent. Will we see a Playmobil themed garden at the Chelsea Flower Show one year?

As a succesor to James May's plasticine garden?
Great display, Flatcat. You really have thought of everything!

Thanks, Ali baba
Chelsea didn't really approve of James May's plasticine garden, so I don't think they will like Damon's playmobil garden unfortunately :(
However the college puts in a garden every year so I will strill probably make it, Playmobil or no Playmobil ;)

Impressive details and very nice close up photos !!!! :)
