Title: My Farm
Post by: flatcat on June 03, 2010, 16:38:24
Hello Playmofriends

As it was a hot and sunny day today (working in the shady area of the garden of course) I set up a farmyard.
I know it lacks animals but they are in another field ;)

There is a large barn where the combine harvester and tractor live:

Just behind the hardstanding under the trees, lies an old tractor, now heavily harvested for parts:

The hay loft stores all sorts of wares from tools, to produce, to hay and straw:

There is a small shady veranda to the end of the farmhouse:

There is also a small pond outside, full of life:

There are lots of hedges to be kept trimmed:

Outside, in the nearby field, neigbouring farmers have all come to help in the removal of old trees that had to be cut down to make more grazing area because they were old and dangerous:

(http://img243.imageshack.us/img243/1562/200910150017.jpg) (http://img243.imageshack.us/i/200910150017.jpg/)

Loading the trucks:

He's got back up now! :-[

He will never learn! ::)

The trees are taken away to be burnt recycled into something useful:

Thanks, Panos! I'm really glad you liked it - this one was a lot of fun to set up and photograph. We where trimming the hedge today, and I had an idea how I could use some trimmings! :!:

Well Panos pretty much says it all, so I'll quote him but add for myself how wonderfully you show the big picture but then "plant" it with the little details which lift it above the ordinary.   :wow: :wow: :wow:

(I note that you weren't wearing your green hat all the time!)

Another great photo story Damo - I particularly liked the old tractor and trimming the hedge - details which really bring it to life.   :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
Your garden certainly knows no bounds - waiting to see what you come up with next

What do you mean by 'green hat'? :hmm:

Thanks, Elaine :)

The tractor I got from my local car boot sale last weekend, and it appeared to have been sitting out in their garden for a year or so so it is very well weathered :)

Just noticed the pond again - is it made of fur fabric? I'm very impressed.

Yes, I made it myself. The base is painted plywood, and on top is some very furry fabric!

Great job.  I especially like the guys who are trimming.  I could have used this crew this morning as I was pulling weeds in the garden!  ;D
