Of the old puzzles, I'm fortunate enough to have the 1977 fire one (Vol 3 p565) and puzzle 4E18 (Vol 3 p569), another fire one.
I'd like to get my hands on the rescue one in the middle of the bottom row on p568 of Vol 3.

It wasn't the one on ebay last year was it? :hmm:
I like the look of these puzzles, more the older ones than the newer ones really, but would rather spend my money on Playmo as I know I'll only do the puzzle once, put it away in the cupboard, and never get it out again. Whereas I can Play with my Playmobil all the time :D

You're my memory on that, Damo.
I have a number of fire-related puzzles, mainly Ravensburger ones, which I regard as the Playmobil equivalent in puzzles. Each piece has nicely chamfered edges and there is none of the cardboard dust you get with other puzzles. The Ravensburger puzzles, like Playmobil, are full of lifelike detail and unusual points of interest. As well as fire-related ones from Ravensburger I've also a police one and a railway scene and a Noah's ark. Some are only have 20 or so pieces, but are still fun to do, maybe face down to add a bit more difficulty! All have been done more than once as it's a nice relaxation in an evening.

If I ever do a jigsaw puzzle they are usually 1000 piece ones, as they are most fun. What is the most pieces of a Playmobil one?

The Playmobil fire theme is only one part of my collection of fire fighting vehicles, although that collection is, overall, much smaller than it used to be. Why I especially like Playmobil is the attention to detail, for example in the breathing apparatus sets. Also, they put in just enough detail and leave room for the imagination to fill in the rest. Some models are some overloaded with detail that they just don't look right. Plus, and it's a bit plus, with Playmobil you have the figures to go with the fire engines.

I have a number of the family cars in red and blue, plus a grey Smart car and some of the other "town" cars. I have, too, a number of the different trucks, preferring the earlier but not the very first trucks. Some day I'll get round to photographing them and posting them on PF.
