Title: Very nice playmo weekend, a bit of archeology!
Post by: Ali Baba on May 30, 2010, 21:18:46
Not only did I receive my Egyptian ship (new) and my Cinderelly set (new), I also received a nice steck house in the mail. That house was not a standard set, but someone collected enough parts to make a house and put some nice extra stuff with it. So now I have the old well with drinking trough.

Furthermore I was at my parents' house. My dad found my old playmobil from the 70's and 80's. In one box was my old blacksmiths house. It is virtually complete and even had the old instructions!

Not only that, but with it were the original boxes from my 3582 and 3657 sets!

I knew I had that blacksmith set, but didn't remember how nice I had kept it and that the instructions were still there and most certainly didn't remember these original boxes!

Hmmmm, great weekend!

Finding your own childhood Playmobil is treasure trove indeed! Congratulations on your reunion and additional acquisitions!

That sounds like a perfect weekend!

I've never seen a photo of the blacksmith's shop and it looks like another of Playmobil's great out of the ordinary sets with the forge and everything.  When you've time would you do a review of it please?

Great finds indeed Ali Baba.

Love the little set up you have there. with the edge of some steck wall visible, some more houses in the back.

I need to start hunting for one of those anvils, because without it you can't have a smithy right?

Playmofire, I'll try to post a review later this week. There is a lot to photograph and even more to say about this set.

Gis, the steck you see is for my project. Part of my wargame is a flying castle full (spelljamming) of wizards. It can even blink. I'm trying to buy the steck I need for it and some stuff for the interior (like the victorian bathroom and kitchen and of course the soda vending machine).

I also have 3 wizards workshops (well later this week I will).

That sounds really awesome Ali Baba. Def want to see some pictures when it's done.

If you are short some stuff and you need it for the final session I could lend you some stuff! We bought all the original Victorian boxes apart from the 2 houses. But we do want to keep them I am afraid!

I'll post some pics when I start building. I got some steck in this weekend. Schuldturm and wizards workshop. I've got quite a pile of it now.

I have a shortage of flooring, so I'll be making my own I guess.

The same thing happened to me a little while back...
Though I must say it was not quite as good a find as yours. :)

Excellent find, Ali Baba :yippee:! One question though, did you color the figures in the pirate set, or are they still white?

I colored them. They don't look very nice anymore.  :-\
