Hello everyone. My name is Linda and I was a member of another Playmobil fansite which became deactivated for some reason and as I missed hearing about it and being involved in the enthusiasm of others I decided to join you all. I recognise some of the names here, which is a pleasant surprise.
I live in Western Australia, have four children and discovered Playmobil approximately two years ago. My two youngest children (6 and almost 5) are fellow addicts and it is one of my pleasures to buy sets for them, the only problem is that we love so many! I hear the phrase 'Mum, I want this!" so often that can't help smiling and feeling pleased that they have such good taste.
I love Playmobil because of the wonderful variey of themes - there is seriously nothing like it! I also suspect that it is something I would have loved to have as a child myself, so am making up for lost time. It is lovely to be amongst fellow enthusiasts and not feel that I am a silly 41 year old!
I have developed an urge to build some Harry Potter themed custom sets and I hope to be able to draw on the knowledge and experience here to help me.

Welcome Lin!
Seeing some of the great creations and customisations here, one soon comes to the realization that Playmobil stimulates the imagination far better than any pre-licensed toys can, and is so flexible that we can create our own versions, like Harry Potter or Indiana Jones, and get more satisfaction from doing it ourselves.
cheers, Martin

Hi Lin,
Welcome from Scotland (http://planetsmilies.net/flag-smiley-7326.gif)
I'm a great Harry Potter fan, as well as a great Playmobil fan so look forward to seeing your customs. I've often thought about doing some HP customs too but haven't had the time, however my son often uses Klickys as stand ins for some of the characters when he's playing with his HP sets.
Best wishes,
Elaine

Hi Linda!
It's great to be welcoming a fellow Aussie to the forum! (http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd13/clanharv1/pf/cork_hat.gif)
When I was back in Tassie on holiday a couple of months ago, I searched high and low in every toy shop for Playmo sets but found none at all. Even the large Target store which used to carry a small selection a few years ago was completely klicky-free! :(
I hope you are able to find Playmobil more easily over in WA. :)
Have fun at PlaymoFriends!

Hello there all and thank you for the warm welcome.
Sylvia, I know what you mean! There is seriously a dearth of Playmobil to be had in Australia and what there is is sooo expensive you need to sell your first born to fund it!
I am already enjoying browsing the forum and being with you all.

Hi Linda
another Aussie who likes pm yes i live in Melbourne and not a sports freak but playmobil is my escape from the busy world .I have a collection of pm and love seeing other Aussies get into pm.I have not been on the forum for a while as to busy .But one of my best pmers Gordon alias playmofire told me to check it out again. I am a pro ff in Melbourne and was introduced to pm by a german ff who i have been friends with for 10+ years . I have been to germany twice the first time was in 2004 and saw the 30th anniversary display of pm and in 2007 i went to the Nuremberg toy fair as for 3-4 years i was the only guy importing pm to Aust after modern brands dropped it because Target was selling stuff from the US.Which was against their rules. But going to Nuremberg was awesome and pm nearly did not talk to me because i was a small trader so anyway childsmart got the rights and thats okay as i was only doing small stuff .I don't think my family wanted 10 containers of pm in my back yard .So welcome and i only thought one day it would be great to for the Aussie pmers to get together as my favorite themes are fire /rescue ( after saving up finally got the new fire trucks last month Vondabar!) Which are modeled so closely to real German fire appliances i can vouch for that And transport plus my dolls house which i have fitted out .So enjoy and cheers from Melbourne :) :)
