As mentioned on my other thread a collection of customised Victorian figures many you'll have seen but I'll add them all on in order just in case ;)
Roast Chestnut

Ciggarette Seller
(http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/af143/Emma-J1066/Forum%20Playmobil%20Victorian/SDC14273-1.jpg)
Postman
(http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/af143/Emma-J1066/Forum%20Playmobil%20Victorian/SDC14958.jpg)
-
Amazing!
I like your postman, the crown on the post box really "tops" it off.. :D ;)
But I think my all time favorite is your chesnut seller!
His chesnut roaster is an amazing creation and truly original.
Great job on your street vendors... are there any more to gawk at? :o
-
Oh yes there's a few more ;)
Matchstick Seller
(http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/af143/Emma-J1066/Forum%20Playmobil%20Victorian/SDC14909.jpg)

Excellent creations, & backgrounds, Emma.J!
-
These vendors are great!! How do you make the product labels, a computer? At any rate they look really nice.
-
that is excellent I love it
-
Great vendors Emma! I have a soft spot in my heart for the roast chestnut vendor. :wow:
-
Emma, I love  your "Street Vendors" series ...
This is another "missed opportunity" for Playmobil ... (http://www.gardenwargamer.com/images/club.gif)
There were so many things that Geobra could have done with their wonderful Victorian theme.
However, I'm so thrilled that you're doing them now! And, obviously you're doing them much better than Playmobil would have ever done them!
Thank you very much for sharing all of your marvelous ideas and creations.
All the best,
Richard
-
I love you matchstick seller Emma!
The hair peice (bonnet?) on the lady is a wonderful custom job! :(o):
Whenever I attempt to add non playmo parts to my Playmobil they always end up looking to bulky or improper...
But your real life addition is spectacular! :yup:
Great job again!!!
-
I've seen these before, but I love seeing them again!
What makes your work so wonderful is they are beautifully done customs that don't look like customs. :wow:
-
Great customs, Emma J. :wow: :wow:, thanks for posting the pictures!
And Richard, you are so right about the endless possibilities with the Victorian
theme :yup:.
Best regards,
Jimbo
-
Great customs.
Well done. :)9
I like your picture set up.
Peter

Great customs Emma, true modelling where I just play with the stuff!
You can still buy roast chestnuts on the streets of London sometimes, so that custom was particularly pleasing. I've tried collecting and roasting my own sweet chestnuts, but they didn't turn out quite the same. :-[
The green post box caught my eye, but you did your research. Nowadays all postboxes in the UK are painted red of course, with green ones in the Republic of Ireland. Original Victorian boxes are still in use in many places (there was a Victorian wall box just yards from my old house), a tribute to the design and engineering skills of the Victorians.
For those interested in learning more about London during the reign of Queen Victoria, I can highly recommend "Victorian London" by Antonia Fraser, a fantastic look at many facets of London during that era, that might suggest some new street life scenes such as a watercress seller, the fish market at Billingsgate, or the Great Exhibition at the Crystal Palace.
-
Thanks Martin,
I shall have to find that book it sounds very interesting. Crystal Palace would be a great build but I think you need someone like Tricornejock to build that he's got loads of parts and has built some excellent palaces! :wow:
Also a little off topic but having recently read Richards Dino Thread where he filmed Dinosaurs in the jungle but only having had enough people request it I was wondering if I should do the same sort of thing and say if I get enough interest I could start a new thread about a work in progress. ???
Would anyone be interested?
-
Great customs, Emma, with a wonderful attention to detail and excellent photos to show them off. :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

0) Thanks for the praise... I'm so chuffed (happy)
Here's my next photo for the collection
A Victorian Policeman
(http://i1002.photobucket.com/albums/af143/Emma-J1066/Forum%20Playmobil%20Victorian/SDC14866.jpg)
As to doing a new thread on a work in progress I thought of doing my Tudor Manor so I'll wait and see if I get a few more people interested.
-
The cape really makes a tremendous difference, Emma!
Of course your "police box" is perfect ... :wow:
Do you have any plans on bringing your "street people" together into one fantastic Victoria street scene?
I really love  what you're doing with the Victorian theme, Emma.
You're bringing it to life ...
Note: And, what Victorian London street scene would be complete without a Guards parade? (hint, hint, hint) ...
-
You've created so many wonderful, detailed customs here with great props, Emma! You've really captured the period well. :wow:
-
Nice Victorian policeman, but the box he's standing in front of dates from the 1950s. :-[ Police call boxes were first introduced in 1910.

Yeah, but how do we know that isn't Dr. Who's Tardis? It could show up in any time period! ;D
-
What are they doing with the Doctors box?!?!?! :o
Unless the police man is checking out why it suddenly appeared there... ;D
-
Ooops!
I meant to comment on how great your custom is Emma,
but for some reason the reply sent before I could... ???
I love the police box, is it Playmobil made?
And your police man is stunning!
The cape really does make all the difference! :yup:
-
Yeah, but how do we know that isn't Dr. Who's Tardis? It could show up in any time period! ;D
it's the Tardis for Professor Mobilux (PM's Dr. Who!)
Nice custom Emma :)9
-
Another excellent Victorian custom work of art, Emma.J :wow:! Karim & yourself have sparked a tremendous interest in this beautiful Playmobil theme !
-
 Yes it is Dr Who's Tardis, I know the boxes were only used for the last century but I thought it would just look good with the police man as it's the same scale :-\
My original thought was to pose him with a lamp and a gentleman with a bag of tools and a headline for Jack the Ripper! but then I thought it is supposed to be for kids :-[ So scratched that idea!
-
I often have ideas with Playmobil that seem a little inappropriate for a toy!
This is an Agatha Christie inspired photo I made, titled "Murder Most Foul":
-
 Yes it is Dr Who's Tardis
Ah ha! I knew it, I knew it, I knew it! ;D
Incidentally, for those members who are relatively new, Emma J. created a wonderful story entitled "Sherlock Holmes & Dr. Who Attack of the Daleks." It's a great story complete with Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Who, Romana, K9, and Daleks! You can view it on YouTube:

Hi Playmomac
I liked the scene but it needed the tomato ketchup ... I'm all for the gore >:D
But I think your avatar would be a great Jack The Ripper! :o
Anyway for everyone else here's my next figure.
A Peddler and his cart

Tom Baker was my favorite as well. I love the scarf!
-
These customs are brilliant. And stunning.
Even the parts you got from other sources are fitting in so brilliant that it is hard to tell what is original and what isnt.
I second Richard. Your models are more beautiful than geobra could have done them ever! :lens: :inlove:
Oh, and please count me in for you list of interested visitors... :)
best,
socrates

WOW!
Another STUNNING custom Emma!!! :wow: :wow: :wow:
I really love his vest...
Did you use a bulet proof vest from one of the police?
Another great job!
-

The "vest" was used in several of the older sets, WoT.

Thanks Richard!
That is a cool old set... and the vest is very useful.

Great job Emma! All the perfect little details, you must have an incredible 'bits' bin! :wow:

Excelent customs as always Emma
Tom baker was my favourite as well btw :yup:

Great job Emma! All the perfect little details, you must have an incredible 'bits' bin! :wow:
I some times think my whole collection has turned into a bits bin ???
I did use to have six mansions, but they got dismantled as I kept rebuilding a bigger and bigger house, and last year every thing got stored away in parts while I built a new table for my shed. I've been dipping into my collection for walls etc thinking well I've used alot but I've still got a house or two left......then last week I went looking for walls to do a small shop to find out I've run out of parts :omg: :omg: :omg:
I've got two extra floors but no house :hissyfit: :hissyfit: So this is why I'm looking for a new one that will not be touched for anything!!
Anyway back to my bits and bobs so here's my next Victorian figure - not so much customised but I was thinking of all the people you'd see on a normal street.
Coal men & wagon

-
Wow your coal wagon looks awesome!, and so realistic with dirty klickies :D
-
Great looking coal men! I love the dirty faces! :wow:
Good looking background! Did you paint that yourself?
-
Again Emma these are truly inspiring!!! I love the touch of detail, especially to the coal men!!! I really loved the constable!!! Well done!! Did you use a shiny paint or a spray for them??
-
Love the dirty klicky coal men - as all your customs the attention to detail is great. (I still can't find my 'praise; emoticon!)
What did you use for the 'cobble stones' in that photo Emma?
Elaine
-
You coal men are GREAT Emma! :wow:
I really like the sacks of coal, and the dirty klickies add charecter.
How do you get them clean again? Does it just rinse off?
Skypurr, the praise emotion is now under Additional smileys.
Just klick [more] and it is 2nd row, fourth from the right.
Hope that is helpful. :)
-
;) Hello
Thanks folks for the praise :-[ :D :D :D
I look forward to all your comments.
What did you use for the 'cobble stones' in that photo Emma?
Elaine
Hi the cobbles are polystyrene painted with buttermilk wall paint. Richard might recognise them as they are my fathers "Blood Bowl" pitch - a wargames game.
Did you use a shiny paint or a spray for them??
The constable was spray painted with gloss enamel and the dirt on the other figures is matt enamel paint brushed on. I didn't want the dirty coming off hence the paint!
Emma

Daniela had trouble finding this book, because it's by Liza Picard, not Antonia Fraser, who has written many other magnificent historical books. :-[ Sorry for the mistake!
It should be available through Amazon.
-
Thanks Martin!
That´s all I needed! ;)
Have a nice day!
Daniela

Nicely done again Emma! Is that Playmo coal?

Nicely done again Emma! Is that Playmo coal?
Hi Gepetto,
yes it is. I ordered scenery coal the first time and it was way to small then spotted the PM coal in the DS catalogue, which looks a lot better and I've got loads of it now! :-\

Your coal cart with dirty Klicky's is excellent Emma.J :wow:! I personally like the PM coal as one of the best addons PM has done to date, though a little pricey! I'd be afraid to see what the costs would be to use these packages of coal to fill a trains tipper cars as cargo for instance :o!
-
I've got a few more figures that don't seam to be in this post so I'll add them on now, although I did think I'd put these pictures up before so sorry if they're a repeat.

Wonderfull work as always Emma!

Emma, those customs are so amazing and full of such detail. I have to admit that your customs are giving me new ideas for my Victorian display. I'll have to track down some of those farm and medieval wagons.
-
Everyone of your customs is great Emma!! :wow: :wow: I'm never tired of seeing your customs!!

Thanks very much, I've got a couple more ideas for some customised Victorians but they'll have to wait a month or two as I'm working on a Medieval market, tournamnet, Tudor Manor, hot air ballons, small Victorian shops and a fun fair ::) This is why it takes me so long to finish things 8}
-
Don't worry Emma take as long as you need, but I'll always be here to see your customs!
Baden
-
I fully agree Baden!
Glued to the Tube so to speak!!!

Absolutely! Whenever Emma posts new customs, that is the first post I look at when I log in.

Gosh thanks, you make my day, but honestly I've only just started, one day I hope to have the skill (and Parts) to be like Tricornejock, MacGayver and Marcus etc.
I've only just started with the joy of bending >:D Today I had a B.B.Q and after the sausages were done I lightly cooked a Western wagon to bend the tailgate down
