He was my very first custom,
made before I knew you could swap legs and torsos and such.
I hope you like him!

Sorry this one is a little blurry because I was holding him freehand
but I wanted to make sure everyone saw how I continued the red down to his legs:

The final shot...

And that is all!
I hope you enjoyed my custom and I can't wait to hear your replies.

The heraldry on the horse's caparison and the shield is my favorite of all the ones Playmobil have produced. I think it's the most true to life, miles better than most recent Playmobil efforts and very regal, and I'm also using it for my King and his personal bodyguard and army.
Your Richard figure is interesting, I've never seen this reversed cross design before, how did you come up with it? I've seen pictures of RtL in his crusader getup (red cross on white background) but not this form of cross.
-
I origanaly was just going to have it as a red side and a white side...
But after I had that painted I thought he needed a cross to go with it.
I came up with the idea on my own.
It is my favorite heraldry too!
Not completely realistic... But it is deffinatly better then the newer ones Playmobil produces.

Excellent Royal custom figure W.O.T.! A strong 10 in design concept & development!

Hi
Great looking custom you painted and put together. I do say though he needs some better head protection. That gold crown might woo the ladies with its image of power but it will do little to keep his head on in battle.
I too find that heraldry to be one of the favorites around here as well.

Excellent custom - :wow: :wow:. I, too, like the heraldry with the figure and your custom surcoat. Nicely done!

Playmobil haven't done a helmet you can wear a crown on top of yet, but that's how it was done in RtL's day.

Thank you everyone!
I will begin working on a custom helm with crown and show you when Im done.

That is a great custom - did you say it was your first? Looking forward to seeing your helmet with crown.

As promised, a helmet with crown!!! Please tell me what you think.
It is not the greatest custom... and I feel I could have made it better, but I didn't have the supplies I needed.
So this is temporary untill I get the supplies I need.
Enjoy:

And here's the Crown on Richard (the LionHeart... sorry Richard ;) ):
No apology necessary, WoT ...
Before Little Jo made the great avatar that I now use, Richard the Lionheart was my avatar.

Very cool!
He loks alot like mine, in some aspects...
How did Little Jo do the torso? I assume it was not paint...?

Yes, he does, WoT ... :)

Actually, Little Jo created the avatar that I am currently using ... ;D
Cap'n Henry created the "Richard the Lionheart" avatar that I used before Little Jo made the avatar that I'm using now.
You are quite correct, WoT the torso is not painted. The torso is from a red Maltese knight. (The red Maltese Knights in the attachment are from Sylvia.)

Is the torso geobra made? I could not find it on Playmodb...

Yes, WoT, it was made by Geobra.
There were two Playmobil Maltese Knights made and distributed in Malta for charitable causes. Fortunately, Playmobil Malta allowed collectors outside of Malta to make contributions in exchange for the two Maltese Knights ... ;D

Cool! They look great!

The black one is still for sale at the Playmobil Funpark or at the airport here in Malta. The red one however, was never sold in any shops or at the Funpark but was only available at a museum in the old town of Mdina. They stopped selling them like 5-6 years ago.. :-\

Thanks for the information and clarification, MD!
I had forgotten that the red one was a key chain from the museum in Mdina.
All the best,
Richard
