Thanks for the review, Peter. I'm puzzled, too, why there is a white helmet and a yellow.
Do I see a custom-painted axe in one picture?

Thanks for the excellent review, Peter! So many sets to collect, & so little money :'(!

Do the colors of the helmet signify rank? This could be similar to the centurion and legionnaire blister.

They do in the UK. The yellow helmet is used by firefighters and junior fire officers (in effect, the equivalent of non-commissioned officers in the army) and the white helmet by senior officers. However, both have rank markings on, except for firefighters themselves and in the brigades using the chrome French helmet there is no colour of course. So far as I know in Germany all municipal fire crew wear white helmets.

in the Netherland old style the fire fighters used black helmeds and the commanders of the fire trucks white and officers also white
new style everybody white or some brigade's chrome

In this country, it is the decision of each department as to the color relating to rank significance. The white color is usually reserved for upper line officers such as Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, & Deputy Chiefs. Depending on the department such as New York City, black is used for regular firefighters from tradition.
