Hi, Playmobil has confirmed that new specials will be only available in Germany, the rest of the world, will have old specials as "new" 2010 specials.

I don't know where you did get your info - but we're definitly getting the new specials in Feb. - as allways ...

I'm a retailer, Playmobil has confirmed that new specials will be only available in Germany.

That would be strange, the new specials for Feb are already in the 2009/2010 benelux catalog as well, so I'm confident they will be available in Belgium too.

This would be extremely disappointing. I welcome the opportunity to get some of the older Specials we might have missed, but it'd be frustrating to know there are new Specials out which we are being deliberately denied. It's hard enough to get Specials in the US already. Will the new Specials end up as Blister Packs in the US? I've noticed the preference in the US for packaging which shows the product more openly, at the cost of being useless once the packaging has been opened.

One possibility is that Playmobil are adopting the same policy for Specials as they do for larger sets - one set of moulds which are used for one set of markets the first year and another set of markets the second year. If by diong that they can save 200,000 euros, it's obviously attractive.

That is a nice not so old special I do not remember in the stores or I was not collecting at the time . The bible showed it as an 03-05 . Any members in the UK need anything in the US, I could use a dozen of these ?

I already picked up a bunch of those off eBay (GRRR), but it's a really useful figure for customising uniforms, and I'd certainly grab more if they came to hand.
The guy's hair is an odd dark gray that I don't recall seeing anywhere else.

Thanks for the tip. I did not look at the Canadian site. It is a bit closer and probably be cheaper shipping as well. Do we have any Canadians in here who need any thing from the US ?
As far as the Playmobil-USA not being able to get these new Specials in this is not a new problem. Last year they did not import many new sets and they even advertised their release dates in the catalogs. I would now not be surprised if some of items that are new with future release dates never show up. I would of course have to call with my oh so friendly comments to the appropriate department.

So I got the new US catalog with a DS order (red house, 5 dwarves, and magician's lab! :love:) and the specials are all boring repeats. :'(
