Hi everybody,
I'm from Zurich in Switzerland and i'm 28 years old and i'm student of history at the university of Zurich. Beside playmobil my hobbys are karate, comics, books and spending time with my friends. And i love to watch hollywood movies and i'm huge fan of scrubs.
I got my first playmobil in the age of 5 as a birthday present (the knight nr. 3329). I stopped to buy and play with playmobil when i was a teenager but i never lost my love to the small men. That's why i chose the nickname playmobueb. "Bueb" ist swiss german for "boy"; so playmobueb = playmoboy.
One year ago i discovered klickywelt.de, and the fever came back. The main theme i'm collecting is the western (1st place) and the knights (2nd) theme from the 90's. But i also have allmost all animals, the zoo and the circus in my boxes. ;)
8 months ago, i launched my own western city, "Sweetwater". The town is growing and growing and i'm looking forward to show you some pictures of it.
Well. i'm glad being here an i'm hoping for good time!
Cheers,
PB

Howdy, and welcome from sunny Arizona
(It is interesting that you called your western town Sweetwater. There is a
place, or area in Nevada by that name. Grandpa, a Swiss immigrant, drove his cattle
there for range land....I was just a little buckaroo back then ;D)
Best regards,
Jimbo

Hi Playmobueb
Howdy and welcome to this neck of the woods we call PlaymoFriends. It is great to have you aboard and I look forward to seeing your Western town. For some reason Sweetwater is a familiar sounding Playmo town. I have always liked the sound of that name and it is used around here for water spring companies "Sweetwater Springs". Enjoy your stay and we look forward to your contributions.

Welcome Playmobueb!
A lot of us are secretly Western Fans, my first klickies were cowboys, and even with just the accessory sets quite a nice little western theme can still be built up.
looking forward to seeing moreof Sweetwater!

Welcome to the forum, playmobueb! I too collect the Western theme, along with Romans, Egyptians, Knights, and Pirates. In fact, I recently acquired Fort Eagle, the Golden Nugget Saloon, and the newer Sherrif's office, so I've been buying more Western sets lately than anything. I too look forward to seeing pictures of Sweetwater. Which era of history are you studying or do you enjoy most?
-
Greetings playmobueb and welcome from the Great Pacific Northwest! I think Martin is right in that a lot of us collect the Western theme 'on the side', I don't feel I 'collect' western but I never turn any cowboys or indians away and forts can always be folded into the knight and roman themes. Glad to have you here with us and look forward to seeing pictures of Sweetwater.

Hi everybody,
Thanks for the warm welcoming here!
To answer some of your questions:
- Why did i choose the name "Sweetwater" for my western town?
I don't know if the western movie "Once upon a time in the west", directed by Sergio Leone and with the actors Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson and Claudia Cardinale, is known well in the US, but in Europe it's more or less a cult movie. However, the persons in the movie are struggeling for a piece of land whose owner was killed before he could launch his town "Sweetwater" (he found water in the middle of the desert, and water is needed for the steam engine).
- Which circus do i have?
I'm a proud owner of the "Circus Romani" :) from the 90's.
- Which era of history am i studying?
I'm studying history in general because it's needed to get the teachers degree. But my real interests are in the history of the ancient romans and in the modern history. I find the romans quite amazing; the interest of modern history comes from the fact that i got a taste of the cold war as a child (i was 6 when the nuclear plant Tschernobyl in the Ukraine exploded. Because of the nuclear clouds i wasn't allowed anymore to drink milk for a while - and i loved milk.) and i also know people whow survived world war 2.
Cheers

Hi playmobueb!
Welcome from snowy Scotland! :snowman:
It is a pleasure to meet you and it's great to have another Western fan on board. I'm not sure why that theme still appeals to so many of us, but I'm hopeful we'll see some new sets coming soon that we can add to our collections. Wasn't there mention of an "El Paso" set still in the works, somewhere?
Have fun at PlaymoFriends and please keep us up to date with progress on building your town. :)
