Bought 7834 One-horse carriage on sale on Playmobil.com for my oldest daughter and also bought 5871 princess carriage for my youngest. Both are the same just painted different and come with different accessories. I thought they were both very nice and were both great gifts from Santa....
HOWEVER, when I put them together the folded roof pieces does not attach. I thought it might be defective on one until I put the other together and realized the same situation. Having purchased well over 20 items for my three kids this Christmas from the playmobil line, these were the only disappointments. Normally everything is very soundsly made and assembled.
I dread the thought of dealing with Playmobil directly as I am still waiting for two orders for parts placed weeks ago. Thinking about sending these two back sounds like more trouble them just sucking it up and keeping them - with that said, both my daughters are upset that they are not the way they look in the pictures.
Anyone else have this problem with them?? Any solutions??

I have 2 of the 7834 carriages and do not recall having any difficulty with them, is it an alignment problem?

Could you show us a picture of how the roof is not attaching properly?

Hi Mini Motors :elf:
I have several of the 7834's and have never had any issues with how anything attaches. I do not have any of the 5871s and it looks a bit different so I can not say .Like Martin asked if you would provide pics maybe we could help solve your situation

As already recommended, A picture is worth a thousand words! Let's see the problem & maybe a recommendation can be given to correct the situation.

So leave it to the kids................ my 3 year old realized i was trying to install upside down. (not really that clear in the picture) and viola! they both work......
Thanks for all the responses!!
Merry Christmas everyone!

I've found both Playmobil and Lego construction pictures less than 100% informative on occasion.

I will say, Playmobil directions are a lot along the lines of IKEA in that they are very representative to what needs to happen to assemble. Better than 90% of what is out there and everything fits. I just happened across the same item that was confusing - go figure!! LOL!!

I have 7834 and could not attach the black piece either, so I just glued it on. Thanks to your child, who is obviously smarter than me, and looking closer at Playmobil's set picture, I see now that I did it backwards!

I did wonder if you were trying to put it in wrong, but didn't want to say. ;)
I've occasionally had pieces on figures that didn't click into place properly (headwear, for example), but never came across such a problem putting together a vehicle or building.
Speaking of constructing stuff, it took me almost 2 hours to put together the Pyramid on Christmas Day. 8} Would have been quicker but I overlooked installing a small part which was crucial to making one of the trapdoors work. I had to pull apart what I'd already built and start again. There are also a lot of stickers and I'm fussy about placement, so I took my time applying them. The end result, however, is brilliant and well worth the money spent. :)

Yeap , spot on , i havent bought any egyptians yet but the same goes for the roman ships . i recall actually when i bought the first pirate ship in 1983-1984 must have been when you had a choice of what stickers to use in the part outside the cabin, loved these stickers , cant find a picture of them though, i wonder if there is a thread , whats your favourite playmo sticker? mine would be the old pirates ship,
I love the time it takes to build a ship etc , i still have two 3940 in ther boxes , i have bought the extra proper cannons for them ( not the weird new ones ), these war galleons i reckon are the best ships , due to the firepower they carry and sometime round easter i plan to set all the pirates. got to see to these egyptians also sometime , i have 4 roman ships and wpould love to create a naval, coast line battle between romans and egyptians !!!

So that's what I was doing wrong! I had the exact same problem with this set and thought it was defective (which didn't make sense considering the high quality of Playmobil design). After reading this, I dashed down to my set and voila! It snapped on perfectly! Thank your 3-year old for me! And yes, I agree that it is not that clear in the picture. I guess you have to be a 3-year old. :-[
