Title: View inside an old Playmo-train catalogue
Post by: matchboxluc on December 28, 2005, 17:27:13
Hi,

I've made pictures of an english Playmobil train catalogue from 1985 (it reminds me of old Fleishmann train catalogues; especially the pictures of the individual train sets).
This is part 1:

Thanks, Jean Luc ...

I know that everyone loves looking at the "old" Playmobil catalogues!

However, I would like to see these pages in the "Trains" section!

All the best,
Richard

Thanks for the great photos Jean-Luc! The trains catalogue is the one I'm still hunting for as it's probably the one of the best ever made.  Thanks for Sharing the scans.

Richard has placed a link in Trains to this topic which is a good idea. But I like keeping the scans here so we can entice more Playmobilers with Playmo Trains! (hehehe)  8-)

Yup...I know. That's how I was nabbed. One nice diorama from a train catalogue and the next thing I know I'm learning about different types of tracks, layouts, ....(and my wallet is much mucy lighter. )  :-[  8-)

Thanks for the scans - they are terrific!

And as for enticing more people into Playmobil Trains - Noooooo! (More competition for me! ;))

I was looking into one of the new catalogues and noticed the current train sets have plastic tracks.... ::) If I was going for the trains, I would prefer the good old brass ones with a good old transformer instead of those wireless remotes (as it should be :yup: ).

I absolutely agree with you, Jean Luc! And, I think that most Playmobil train enthusiasts will also agree with you!

Fortunately, we can still get the same good old brass tracks (and the good old electric transformers) from LGB ...

Thanks again for scanning and posting your old train catalogue.

All the best and Happy New Year,
Richard

That's the way I've gone too Jean Luc. I've a Westen Train and a Passenger Train (both of which are serve double duty as my Circus train from time to time) and I love the older models. Though to be honest I've not tried the plastic track or the remote. I have heard they are better for outside but don't foresee me taking my trains out much.  The brass track just seems more "authentic"...well, for a toy. ;)
