Title: Hi Everybody ...
Post by: Mountain King on November 28, 2009, 20:53:56
Hi everybody,
new on this forum, not new with Playmobil however ...
I was just 5 years old when "They" enterred my world, but I had to nag for a year to my dad before I had my first ones : Three Indians and horses with bows and arrows, spears as well. Only one week later no more bow and arrows ... playing outside wasn't such a good idea for those ...
However the Indians survived, I have played with them for 8 years, received another interest then, also to play with but not out of a box ...
So because I really liked to play with them [(later I bought 4 shiny knights, 5 fire men), nothing more because one of my friends had 2 boats and 10 canons and i always went to his house] I had put them in a tin box for my kids. However it took until this month for them to enjoy Playmobil, Thx to my little girl who is madly in love with "the Unicorns" ...
So I'm back into Pirates, Knights, Indians, Templars, North and Southern armees ...
have to say though I'm happy that i have the "fever" again ...
That's it and by the way, I'm Belgian ... and yes I'm 40

Welcome MK from damp London, soon to be Oregon.

So do we take it you still have your original Klicky figures? We'd love to see a picture of those veterans! It must bring back a lot of memories to be able to handle your original childhood toys. (Remember the scene in ''Amelie"?)

My original figures were much the same as yours, Indians, Cowboys and Knights, but alas were somehow acquired by the school where my mother was headmistress for 17 years so I have only new Playmo, and figures I bought from about age 18 onwards when she couldn't ''reassign'' them.

transl: no, I have noticed it allready: Glad to see I'm not the only one. My wife was under the impression I was, I have convinced her already and the coleecting fever has allready struck. For the moment, i have started to buy 4 pirate ships ...

I have allready taken the pictures, if someone can tell me what I have to use (imagevenue, imageshack, photobucket, ...) I will gladly put them on. Even though only a few are still in good shape (some have new eyes because they were gone after 35 years of being handled by me). And yes, the date is 1974 on there foot as well as the name "Geobra". Many fond memories come back, still feel like a child whenever I see them and it will make me prouder when I will see them once on youtube or on foto, like what i see people doing over here. Pity to hear you don't have yours anymore ...
As far as the other people who have given me a warm welcome ... Thx, I really appreciate it

Have to say that I have never heared of this theme, until now, I have seen allready on youtube your films and also from Emma and I have to say that it truly looks amazing.
And whenever I will and can, I will start collecting them as well, so that I will be able to experience their beauty myself. They truly look adorable.  Looks like a walk in Main Street at Disneyland, it looks so invitting to look inside all of those houses and shops ...
