Title: Shepherds in the field.
Post by: highlandcattle on November 15, 2009, 15:45:15
(http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2614/4105123409_fb74bbfb77.jpg)

This one is based on my favourite playmobil set, 3412 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3412).
I recently got this set in  a big lot in almost mint condition! The only thing not included was the black sheep, but I got two extra white ones instead.

I love the old style of sheep which are only found in two sets, the 3412 and the much newer 3638 (petting zoo). I also used some new sheep, but they are a bit hidden ;). I also updated the shepherd
with modern klicky features and gave him a friend.

Excellent setup of your diorama  :wow:! Displayed very well! I really like the light grey rock series that is difficult to find now  :(!

Wonderful scene highlandcattle, I love the dog on the rocks watching over everyone! Nice pastoral setting, that is a clever idea for the shepherd's cart BTW.

Hi Highland

Yes that is a wonderful set and the way you displayed it is beautiful. I too noticed the cart and if you get the chance could we see it a little closer. I seem to be a lot more interested in it now that I have an identified green roof :wow:

   Thanks for sharing

Lovely scene! Those two klickies are two of my favourites for 'general rustic'. They'd fit in any era the dark ages onwards.

Now Playmo can do multi-coloured mouldings, we might one day get black face sheep, or Jacob's sheep.

Your shepherds are really charming and your photography skills are  :wow:.  They always come out so clear and sharply focused.

The shepherd on the right is the night watch, yes?  I remember bidding on that Special way back in the early days of ebay - when there was no Paypal, one still had to send a check by mail - and overbidding because I still did not know what I was doing.

That collection of rock landscapes is envy-inducing.  The light gray ones are my favorite.  Playmobil US seems to only have the red ones now.

Hello, HC ...

Your photos are wonderful!

I think the one you chose to show us (without the fence) is excellent.

I also love your "Abandoned Forest Cottage" ...  :wow:

Hi,
HC Since I last posted I've managed to win this set, however my sheep are a bit greyish looking - should they be pure white or off white? I wondered if I should try bleaching mine -what do you think?
Love the cottage by the way  :wow: the way the greenery is growing through the roof is great.

Excellent rocky cliff-scape.   The whole scene is great with my favorite part being the dog herding the straying sheep down the rocks and back to the flock.  :)

Mine are a bit greyish as well, maybe you should post a picture before throwing them in Bleach, then we can compare. ;D
