Title: 4020
Post by: reylocann on November 15, 2009, 04:08:22
I bought the 4020 set the year it was released.  We played with it for a number of years and had no problems.  A couple of years ago - when I still got Playmobil wholesale - i bought a new charger and a new battery.  Somehow, I have ended up with 2 of these sets  ;D but I  cannot seem to get either one working.  Do any of you train buffs out there have any knowledge of usual causes for the trains to stop working - other than the battery or charger.  The light comes on the charger when I plug it in and I checked the battery - it has juice.  Put fresh batteries in both controllers but not getting movement from either train. Is there anything specific I can do in terms of narrowing down the problem and possibly fixing it?  I know its hard to speculate but I figured someone out there may be able to give me direction!!!!
Thanks
Annie

Hi Annie

One problem I always have with the RC's is the connection from the battery pack to the train's terminals . Try cleaning the metal tabs inside where the batteries fit into with some fine sand paper or equivalent and also clean up the battery terminals .

There are a few problems that can go wrong with the RC trains.
If after cleaning the contacts you still have a problem you can send me your email address to my messages and I can send you a sheet on what to look for.
I will be away for a few days so do not expect a reply straight away.

ehm a very stupid question maybe: did you try pushing the rc-crystals?  I've had it once that the one on the remote wasn't locked properly and it gave me trouble too....
