They don't seemed to have been carrying either of the sets for the past couple of months ... :( Does not bode well for the line imo. I was hoping the 4085 RC Cargo Set would have made it to the US, albeit I don't want to think about the pricing ...

That is very odd. I have been watching this theme as I have been gathering it is being phased out. Usually I look to the German Playmobil site for the one years notice on discontinuations. On the German site the 4010, 4011 & add on 4124 are still there . Now why would the US site remove them ?

One second thots, if you took a recent look at the train section over at TRU in the US, there maybe only a handful of sets available of any brands (PM obviously not there) - guess it speaks more towards the popularity of trains as a toy for the kids in this age group these days. (Hobby Store N/HO/O/G would be catering to another age group altogether imo).
Now, the proliferation of Thomas The Tank line is another thing altogether ...
I would really like to pickup another R/C Cargo train set (while its available in the US seems to be very limited), but there just so many other PM stuff that $$ could go to; decision, decisions :(

Hi Core
Maybe with the recent acquisition of an entire train empire Warren Buffer will stir a little enthusiasm into the whole hibernating train industry .
here is a quick clip out of an article (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=arwqyNBGLRG8&pos=3)
‘Good Investment’
Buffett said he had “already sold” Berkshire’s stakes in Burlington’s competitors. His company owned about 9.56 million shares of Union Pacific Corp. and 1.93 million shares of Norfolk Southern Corp. as of June 30, according to a regulatory filing.
“I’ve done that just to facilitate the transaction,” Buffett said. “I think they are good investments. I would have held them had this hadn’t happened.”
Buffett said he also has a toy railroad set in his attic, adding “I hope they don’t make me sell it for antitrust reasons.”

 I saw him say the same thing on "Charlie Rose" the other night - I immediately wondered if it might be a Playmobil set-up. Hey, if Warren Buffett plays with toy trains, it must be a good thing to do! ;D
