Title: Links Page
Post by: Tiermann on November 04, 2009, 01:16:03
Hi Sylvia and Friends
As you may be aware Yahoo finally shut down Geocities entirely. I noticed a few of the links on the Links page have now gone dead. It may be a good idea to do a run-through of the links page and weed out the deadwood. :)
It might be a good time to solicit new links too.

Hi Tim!

Thanks for the heads up. :)

Your message comes as quite a co-incidence because while I haven't checked PF's links page for a long time, I did spend some time going through every link late last night.  I found several that were no long working and one that no longer had any Playmobil content. I think only one was a Geocities site (Jeepmobil).

I intend to edit the page and remove the dead links today. I have a couple of new ones to add too. :)

If you or anyone else ever finds a dead link on that page again, please let me know by posting here. :)9

Hi Sylvia,

You probably already have this but better safe than sorry, the link for 'Amplified Ideas' takes you to a generic site that has nothing to do with Playmobil, also the 'blairmobil' site comes up correctly with the link but if I click on either of the 2 stories at the bottom "Safari" or "Andy Gets Unemployed" my anti-virus kicks in saying this is a known 'attack site'. :2c: P)

I spotted that one. :) Either they didn't renew their hosting or the site has moved to a new domain. I've taken it out for now.

Yikes. That's bad. I get the same message when I click those links. I've now removed that one too.

Thanks for the info, Steve. :)

Hello Sylvia,

The link to 'Toy Nerd Design' seems to be bad also.

Ok, thanks. I missed that one completely. :-[

Feel free to suggest new links too. :)
