OMG !!! ...   :o And, at 20 knots ...  8}

Tusen tak for the great video, Pingo!

We'll first see the Oasis of the Seas in Fort Lauderdale. Then we fly to the Virgin Islands on 12 November, so we'll see her again when were on St. Thomas.

We're really looking forward to seeing Royal Caribbean's incredible new ship!

At 360 m (1181 ft), a Playmobil scale model of the Oasis of the Seas would be about 16 m (52 1/2 ft). Does anyone know how long Playmobil's largest ship the Titan (4472) is? (See Titan image attachment below.)

Thanks again, Pingo, and all the best,
Richard

Richard

It's 23 & 3/4" close to 2 feet long, Richard.

Thanks, Bill ...

That means that a Playmobil scale model of the Oasis of the Seas would be about 26 times the length of the Playmobil Titan cargo ship ...  :(o):

I can't even imagine 26 Titans laid out in a line ... That's HUGE!

There's one thing for sure, none of the Playmobil boats are created to true scale. Just looking at the TITAN shows that it is smaller than it should be when compared to an actual cargo ship, so a smaller cruise ship would do just fine!

That's true, Bill ...

So, I wonder if the Playmobil "cruise ship" that Pingo linked to at the beginning of this topic would be about what a Playmobil Oasis of the Seas would be like?

None of my klickies are buying tickets until they know how many pools there are and if there is a casino with free drinks  :lol:

If you notice the actual yellow doors 30075600, & red frames 30075610, & front yellow railing part number 30227330, it is presumed that this ship would be the most true to actual size ever built using Playmobil as a starting point.

Isn't that the ferry? I remember a series of posts a few years ago about the construction of a huge ferry model. If I remember the size correctly it is probably about half the size that a scaled Oasis of the Seas would be.

Hello, Tim ...

Is this the "ferry" that you remember?

Isn't that the same boats?  I too remember this boat being a ferry and how impressive it was to see how many vehicles can fit inside

Thanks for all the pictures, Pingo!

That is a fantastic ocean going ferry cruise ship.

We were actually fortunate enough to ride on an ocean going ferry which was part of the Sea Land fleet. We went from Venice to Istanbul and returned to Venice. It was a wonderful cruise!

I wonder where all these Klickys are bound for?

the playmo-custom version is great.  :wow:
the real one is too big for my taste.  ::)

Me three  ;D but I prefer a motor .

Pingo around these parts your kayak would be a fresh water boat. The one you have is a nice one with the dry hatches and the rudder.  We use mostly sit-on-tops for salt water . If you roll in the waves you can get up and back on before the great whites smell you . Seeing these boats make me want to go fishing or diving

This is me in my new Sea kayak

I just tried ocean kayaking for the first time last summer, and I absolutely loved it!  I was in a 2-person sit-on-top style kayak, but I want to try the sit-in style like you have.  I understand it is not as stable as the sit-on-top style.  Is it hard to learn?

If you capsize you can do an Eskimo roll and many orders rolls to get up again

I don't think it is difficult too learn  ;)

that is a coincidence, I just sold my surfing kayak 2 weeks ago from lack of use . It went to a avid surfer who is putting it on display as an antique  :lol:. I guess the difference is where I go the shoreline is all rock ( thats where the fish, octopus, sea-urchins & best of all abalones are found . If you do roll over with out a helmet, ouch , it makes it had to roll upright when your fish bait  8}

OASIS OF THE SEAS HAS ARRIVED!

This morning (8 December 2009) Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas arrived in the United States Virgin Islands.

I took some pictures of her from our veranda.

She is berthed at Crown Bay in St. Thomas USVI alongside Costa's Atlantica.
