In celebration of my excess of 1000 topic posts I give to you the following photo story!
This is the photo story of the Playmobil City Emergency Apparatus Service Repair Modification Customization Refurbish Division. It is managed by a group of creative wizards that can develop or conjure up any design for an equipment improvement or custom piece of equipment that any emergency service division can ask for. The wizard team has been instrumental in the creation of many items such as the PCEMS defibrillator/monitor, PCFD rescue saws, customization of the heavy rescue trucks, & the PCFD SCBA air cylinder modifications, to name just a few! ! The Playmobil City Emergency Apparatus Service Repair Modification Customization Refurbish Division repairs all of the Playmobil City Fire Departments apparatus, PCEMS vehicles, and PCPD vehicles within the city's maintenance budget.
When the Playmobil City International Airport Fire Department needs vehicles repaired, modified, refurbished, or customized, the costs of labor and materials are paid by them as a paying customer not an affiliate of the normal Playmobil City emergency organizations due to them being private.
There are now three wizards assigned to the research, creation, & development division. The newest members name is Merlin, with a master wizard called “Wiz” who is in charge of this division and has a partner that has been his accomplice for many years called Shorty. Shorty was not always 3 feet tall, actually he was originally a 6 foot tall grown man before a terrible work shop accident!
This is how the story was reported. One day after the Wiz had a heated argument with his now ex-wife about their divorce settlement on his cell phone in which she hung up on him, he was heard screaming the following; If she thinks she's going to keep the *@@*$ that I paid for to help with her self esteem issues, so her new boyfriend can benefit from them, she's sadly mistaken! I'll show her! He was desperately searching his spell book and finally found the spell recipe he was looking for. As he recited the spell and waved his wand, Shorty accidentally walked into the line of fire! After the dust settled, the results have given a new meaning to the phrase “down sized!” Shorty is much smaller now, and Wiz refuses to reverse the spell, saying it's one of his greatest feats, even if it was an accident, but naturally Shorty doesn't agree! Wiz's ex-wife still has the same equipment though, and the page with the reversal spell has come up missing from the spell book. Every now and then you can hear a sinister laughter come from Wiz as he looks in the direction of Shorty, to which there is a special gesture shown by Shorty as a rebuttal toward Wiz, to which Wiz reminds him; use all of those fingers when you wave at me Shorty!
I hope you enjoy the story!

The crews of the foam tenders, were not satisfied with the dual CCTV monitors, & asked if a less view obstructing design could be developed. The design team came up with the answer of dividing 1 monitor into 4 smaller screens making it possible for the FT commander to be able to see the entire scene without having a restricted view, & simultaneously operate the monitor foam nozzles.

Another great display of your fire team hard at work . Good thing Playmobil just has the Speed Trap cop and not an EPA or OSHA set or they would be all over this garage
Thanks for showing your wonderful work :)9

Oh my God Bill , you have done it again :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
I was looking for the avatar of our B-W and there he is in all his splendour !!!
You have such an eye to create a perfectly realistic scene exactly as if one of us was taking pictures around a fire station and a mechanical repair area.
Everything is where I would expect it to be in real life - except for the Wizzards, of course - and you have such a technical knowledge of what is going on and where !!! I am speechless - I am actually Gobsmacked but one cannot be so in Windsor apparently - as it looks everything but "staged" !!! :wow: :wow:
What I admire about you and other Playmofriends is your practical knowledge of each and every piece of a Playmobil set and these pictures are as the English would say "Proof is in the Pudding".
You have a wicked sense of humour and I am so glad that Sylvia's avatar has landed safely after her twirling acrobatics
Thumbs Up !!!
Karim :)
PS : Mr Rasputin , could you kindly translate the Speed Trap Cop, EPA and OSHA for a Victorian Collector who still lives in the 19th century ? Speaking of which, my Colleagues at work are teaching me "slang" and "Cockney rhymes" such as "I am going Apples & Pears"= I am going upstairs !!! I just love it !!! My Friend Diane who forbids me to say "I am gobsmacked" is in for a real shocker >:D >:D
-
The "Speed Trap Cop" would be the set #'s 4609, 4669 or 4900. It is the officer who hides behind something to use the radar and give you a ticket . It was one of those odd sets that stirred up some silly controversy like the airport security ::)
"OSHA" is Occupational Safety and Health Administration (http://www.osha.gov/index.html) they basically show up to a job site to make sure everybody is safe way beyond the ability to even work ( government safety )
"EPA" would be Environmental Protection Agency (http://www.epa.gov/) well it is kind of self explanatory and would be all over a shop where they paint or use any chemicals that work .
-
Excellent job Bill!! :wow: :wow: When I worked for several transportation companies I would love to go down to the shop to watch the fabrication and repair of equipment, you capture the feel perfectly! I can almost smell the solvent and oil and hear the air drills and grinders. Masterful job, good to see other members helping out also!

Well, I'm gobsmacked and "oop North" we're allowed to be! It's really amazing, Bill, the detail, and the overall cohesion of the scenes, the sheer scope and range of your stories - wow! :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:
I think I must be photographing something up in the roof with that lens, btw. It must be at least a 150mm tele.
-
A very good morning to you Playmofriends
Following up on the above comments - and yes Playmofire, give me "Northenerners" anytime ;) in fact I adore the Scottish accent :-[ - I admire your technical knowledge which is brilliantly demonstrated in Bill's last creation, but I also marvel at the accurate technicality of the Playmobil Sets themselves :o...
I have carefully looked at the details of Bill, B-W and other Fire Dept Specialists pictures, and I am "gobsmacked" at the fact that Playmobil items are so true to reality :yup:.
Even without the customs, these "toys" are really miniature versions of Fire Engines, etc.
Playmobil is definitely taking the definition of a "toy" one step further !!! :wow: :wow: :wow:
Karim :)

Excellent story, great scene setting, wonderful level of detail
-
Thank you everyone for the positive reviews regarding this project :-[! I'm glad you enjoyed my efforts :yup:! There are subtle combinations like the Wizards workshop, the old retired 3526 fire engines, plumbers plunger, office pets, etc, that I enjoy using to add interest to my stories. I have found proof as shown that all themes are complimentary to each other, & combining them in this manner adds humor & dimension to any story!
-
Looking awesome, Bill. I sure could use a lot of your stuff in my train workshop.
I didn't even know there were so many playmobil tools!
-
The blend of fantasy and rescue themes makes this story very entertaining. You have such a vivid imagination, Bill.
Great pictures, too! 8-) Love all the cats and kittens in the tower and the incredible attention to detail in the workshop scenes. I'm bowled over by the amount of equipment and how neatly everything is stored.
I feel a bit sorry for Shorty. Hopefully he'll find an antidote to that spell one day. It's not always easy being little (speaking from experience.) ;)
Btw... "twirling acrobatics?" What on Earth has my avatar been getting up to while my back is turned? I'm going to have to look into this... ;D

Just seen this and it is absolutely brilliant, Bill :wow: :wow: :wow:
Did you customise the yellow hand carts to attach to the tug tractor ???
I absolutely love the last pic!

Thank you for the positive comments Damo, & thank you for researching these old contributions! There are many picture stories I did in the Story Telling, & Custom Gallery boards that I accomplished a great while ago!
To answer your question about the tug tractor, that item came from the rail road station series long ago, & no modifications were needed to use the carts with the tractor. The carts could be used with Klicky's pushing them or being pulled by the tractor! It was a very versatile item !

Hey how did I miss this? ??? ???
This is a most informative, ingenious and entertaining photostory Bill!!! I really love how all playmofriends are lending a hand or just visiting!!!
But most of all I love the wizard team!!! Great idea and story!! And their pets     Just hilarious!!!
Thanks for this amazing sequence of events!!!

Hey how did I miss this? ??? ???
You wern't a member at the time
And neither was I ;D
There are loads of great stories on here - it would be great if they were, say, catagerised into different themes to make it easier to find them.
Damo :)

Thank you for the positive comments Panos! I love going back & reviewing others works on this board ! It has inspired me to attempt new projects! Stories from all of the different themes contributed by members are a treasure trove! This is my favorite board that I am a moderator for! I sit for hours going back & reviewing what others have given to us all, true inspirations!
