i have been congratulating myself on minding my budget and not spend too much money.... until today. an opportunity has presented itself for me to purchase a pristine condition giant santa klicky, although at this point i have no idea where i would store him the other 11 months of the year, but it would be so much fun to put him in the front window of the first floor for the holidays, as our house sits on a corner, and he could wave at so many folks as they walk by below on the sidewalk. question. what is the price range that people pay for these? as i said this one is absolutely pristine.

Wow i want to see. I was just in SF today and out youngest started saying "He pop can we go to the ladies house with the fire engines" then the other ones jumped in "ya lets go to the ladies house with all the playmobil" Now i will definitely have to do a drive by on Christmas ;)
I have seen them go for around $200 in decent shape on Ebay. They are hard to find in perfect shape due to the plastic being so thin . The big problem with buying them on Ebay is the price of shipping .
:!: My wife said how you could help cover the cost of purchase is to set up a "picture with santa booth" I know i want one of our kids with him :prays:

You can always disguise him for other holidays,...put a sheet over him with three holes for Halloween,...Indian feather head dress, & deerskin out fit for Thanksgiving,...let him be displayed oh naturale for Christmas,...dressed in a diaper for Baby New Year,...a bow, & arrow, with the same diaper for Cupid on Valentines day,...green cloak with shamrock as a Leprechaun for St. Patrick's Day,...bunny ears, basket, cotton tail for Easter,...holding a USA flag for the forth of July. You get the idea ;)!

Ras got there first, but I'd have said about $200 if you're prepared to pay that much.
I'd pay that to have such a splendid item of Griswoldry*!
* the term my family use for any OTT Christmas displays, named for the National Lampoon family.

Great idea Bill! I had not appreciated just how flexible these items are!!
Buy it Kaethe, buy it now before it is too late and you are only left with the "What ifs?" (You could always sell to Rasputin later ).

As my Friend Rollande in Montreal always says : "regrets are sterile"...
...so go for it Kaethe :yup:!!!
Karim :)
PS : Bill, you have a wicked sense of humour >:D

Buy it now Kaethe!! I would kill for one of these giant figures, especially a Santa
Like everyone else says, you'll only regret it if you don't.
Besides, just as rules are made for breaking....so are budgets ;)
