Interesting - there is going to be lots of mongolians these days. Not that I would jump for joy - still.

I always appreciate new animals.

Thanks for the up-date.

Thanks for the translation, It looks like it took a while to put together , thank you

Some sound very promising especially if they become themes

erdmännchenkolonie translates as "Meerkat Colony" for me. That'd be fun.

The Space Ranger from Mid-July suggests we may be getting a Space theme again eventually? I'd be very interested in that development.

A Conquistador should be a good compliment for the Spanish troops, and add more inland adventuring possibilities.

Shouldn't there be some February Specials too, or have the duo-packs from that month replaced them? I'll be disappointed if they're starting to phase out the Specials in favour of duo-packs.

Exactly what I thought: that will be fun!

(And another clever strategic move of Playmobil because meerkats are never come along alone so there is always the wish to have a few more to have a real colony  ;D)

:yup: wikipedia is saying that suricates and meerkats are the same animals...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suricate

In England if you talk of a Suricate nobody will have a clue what you are on about, while Meerkats are so popular they have their own website:

http://www.comparethemeerkat.com/home

I notice that in that Wiki article, having explained there are two names, the word Meerkat is used throughout the rest of the article.

Anyway, I'm getting me one of those colonies!

Wow the pics look awesome!  I will definitely be adding the new Zoo sets to my collection... is it just me or do the Meerkats look a little too large?

But the new sets look promising!  The vacation home reminds me of a Tuscan Villa...

The two Mongols and the conquistador look pretty good!  I'm not sure I'll be buying dozens of them, as the Mongols don't really fit in with my themes and I've got enough conquistadors, but I'll certainly pick up at least one of each.  The new silver Egyptian/Mongol helmet and shields might be very useful to me and others too.
Title: Re: new sets for 2010
Post by: Rasputin on September 07, 2009, 23:39:16
I would like to see how their legs move ?

That red beach buggy looks new

The meerkats looks like giants compared to the tiny koalas

The jeep if that is what it is looks like it has the zebra print on it and that round hut from the last realeasse pictures is there again but this time it looks real .

On the display set up of the zoo if you look at the left most set there is an Asian theme there , no ?

The planes look fun for the beach or park , but i think i will strap some bottle rockets to them .

If you look closely at the girl who is just about to dive on the left edge of the pool, it appears that one leg is further forward than the other.

Yes it may be the legs move independently or she is standing sideways . What really is puzzling is the boy in shorts w/soccer ball who has the legs bent the wrong way . I think he needs some corrective surgery at Kaethe's special hospital before he plays with that ball  :o
Title: Re: new sets for 2010
Post by: Rasputin on September 08, 2009, 03:39:24
reading a bit about the Meerkat it averages 12 inches tall . If a klickie was 6 foot = 3 inches then the kat should be 1/2 inch tall . The Koala is about 2 1/2 feet tall making it aprox. 1 1/2 inches in Playmo. I know that I am being very technical but the Koala should be more than twice the size of a Meerkat  not the other way around like the picture looks . I hope its just the angle  :hmm: I do really like the fact that a group of meerkats is called a "mob", "gang" or "clan"

By the way thank you again for the info and the pictures Cachalote  :wow:

Yes, the meerkats appear monstrously large!  I hope they are not really that large in relation to everything else.

Yes, the meerkats appear monstrously large!  I hope they are not really that large in relation to everything else.

I think it's just the patchwork nature of the picture, if the Meerkats were shown in their true scale they'd be too small to see the detail.  Playmo aren't known for messing up their animal scales.

Justin - ditto, I'll be getting a few of each of these, hoping I can secure some of those large eggs next year as I never did this year. This focus on Mongols and Cossacks is intriguing.

The Meerkats (as long as they aren't huge) and the koalas look great. I really like the giraffe feeder too.
Notice the Tori gate in the Asian themed zoo set? Plus the Mongols that looks like a definite Asian theme on the way someday...
Also at the top of the big zoo picture there is an ape/monkey - perhaps an Orangutan??

Actually on closer look at the meerkats I think they will be about waist high or so to a klicky. Notice the fern near the seated one, that gives some scale. The box for that set is difficult to see well but it looks like they are definitely smaller than they look in the larger picture.

Wow thanks alot for the new pictures etc. Love the new animals and I'm lookin forward to more Asian themed items. Can I ask where do these people Klickywelts? get the info from? Is it a German released catalogue? :-\

I was on the Playmobil sites last night and have seen the new giant figures and the playmats which look interesting. It was nice to see the U.K site listing some of these items as well but I didn't see a link to next years products, I'd love to have a look myself.

I've seen pictures from a similar magazine shown on the playmoDB website and wondered if there is a different direct service catalogue or other catalogue released in Germany or to a collectors club, than what we can get access to over here in the UK. ???

well emma, as far as i know, klickywelt is just another forum of playmobil fans just like we are.  :yup:
the difference is that they are mostly german - it is a german speaking forum - and that they have 1829 members.  ;D
some of them seem to have some way to know playmobil's future releases before everyone else.  :hmm:
maybe some of the members own toyshops and get the catalogues early...
maybe some of the members work at playmobil...
maye some of the members are spies with huge ladders and have a way to get into playmobil offices in the cover if the night...  ::)

playmodb  :wow: is a site owned by "one of us" - heather patey / sbblabotw - and it is an "unnoficial playmobil database". some of the pictures you will find there come from members of this forum or from klickywelt.

Wow a lot of great new items to burglar my wallet. Each year I seem to have the same problem. A lot of great new stuff and due to finances I'm having to choose what to buy. Which leaves me with stuff I'm thinking of buying next year, but then the new stuff is coming out. End result, my wishlist is getting bigger each year.

For now I'm really in love with the meerkats and the new swimmingpool with the house.

When Bill mentioned it Klickus Mobilius & I were trying to figure out if their legs move together or individually ?

Didn't realize you guys were "leg" men ... ;)

Kidding aside, from what we can see in the pictures, if their legs don't move independently, it might be an easy fix.

Hello

   I was just wondering if anybody has any further pictures of these sets. I was looking to see if I could ID Gordon's ladder and saw the 5863 Dune buggy. I would really like to see the kayak in detail that seems to be on the back of it . I mean we are getting to know what is in 2011 and what about 2010  8}
