Title: New bare chested patient for PCEMS photo stories!
Post by: Bill Blackhurst on June 21, 2009, 01:17:28
Hello again everyone! After my brief discussion with kaethe the other day, about a patient that needed to be bare chested for realism in my Playmobil City Emergency Medical Services photo stories, I've been on a mission to customize the proper looking patient. The following pictures are the result of my efforts. I hope you like the new custom figure complete with chest hair ! BTW, it sure is going to hurt when they remove those adhesive electrodes  :0!

He looks GREAT, Bill ... :wow: ...  :wow: ...  :wow:

And. considering where you placed the upper electrodes, I think that I agree with you, removal is probably going to be very painful ...  :o

All the best,
Richard

He looks good.  Having chest hair myself, and having had electrodes on my chest before, I can vouch for the pain.

He's wonderful, Bill!   Great thinking and great execution!  The use of the red jacket as the open shirt is a brainwave, and the hairy chest is the icing on the cake, as it were.  And it will certainly be painful removing those pads, as Richard says.

I'll be the first to ask the question - what colour paint did you, please, use for the upper torso?

Thanks to everyone so far for your positive feedback on this project! I will try to answer some of the questions as carefully as I can, due to some customizing techniques that may be considered unsafe for younger members. The shirt was derived from several figures to achieve the open shirt design look. The shirt covering the torso was a red vest obtained from sets like 4903, & 3739. The red sleeves can be obtained from any figure with the same color red as the vest, & with flesh colored hands. I recommend the the torso be of the smooth variety from the same figures that the red vest comes from. (You will need to heat the red vest with a hair dryer to spread the opening to accommodate the EKG leads, & this is the disclaimer part CHILDREN NEED TO ASK  THEIR PARENTS FOR ASSISTANCE TO DO THIS PROCEDURE!)  The figures torso when disassembled, will be painted using TESTORS water based hobby paints White 52244550117, & Israel Early Tan 52244553422. I custom mixed these 2 colors together to match the Klicky's head with an approximate ratio of 2 drops of tan to 1 drop of white, & adjusting amounts depending on figure tint, because of age, & possible previous fading. That particular type of paint has easy water, & soap clean up. After painting the torso, & allowing it to dry, you can apply black chest hair by doodling with a fine point permanent marking pen. After everything is dry, reassemble as before interchanging the figure pieces as desired. As for the EKG leads, if anyone is interested, send me a PM so I can respond appropriately. I cannot post the procedure on the forum due to using straight pins, cutting them with sharp cutting tools, & including them in the assembly of components making it dangerous for children to attempt. I hope this helps.

Hi Karim,
Thank you! This EMS crew has only 1 woman assigned to it! The other 3 are men without "helmet hair", & under the patients oxygen mask lurks a handle bar mustache!

Hello Bill,

Another fine custom for your collection. I really couldn't tell that this was a custom when I first looked at it :wow:. I keep thinking about the pirate chests with chest hair showing through their shirts and how well you have recreated this look so well on your completely bare chested klickie. You have matched the paint perfectly to the original colour. As allways I can't wait to see what you come up with next.
