Hi Everyone
I believe that I have really started a trend on Ebay UK 0) as a few Sellers have been "inspired" by my sets and I fully approve when it is done in a tasteful and genuine way.
The accessories must be carefully chosen to compliment the Victorian Sets and never overshadow them.
Some "clever Cookies" checked the list of products and suppliers from my feedback database and it is sometimes very obvious that they use the same accessorising sources >:D- mainly Playmo suppliers in Germany and 1/12th accessories suplliers in the UK...
(http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/6376/playmo1.jpg) (http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=playmo1.jpg)
If it can bring the Victorian Theme to a new life and generate interest from the younger generation, why not ? If I am very competitive in my professional life, customizing Victorian Sets is one of my hobbies and will remain as such : a fun thing to do when I can finally sit down and relax with a glass of Merlot, or two
I would like to bring your attention on one inspired and very creative Seller :wow:- Emma.j - who offers two really fun customized Victorian sets on Ebay UK :
Playmobil Victorian Ladies Boutique Hat & Perfume Shop
Clothes Hat Stall Accessories Perfumes Corner Shops Item number: 200338049681
Playmobil Victorian Museum - Dinosaurs Egyptian Knights Item number: 200338397739
I think both items are gorgeous and very faithful to the Playmo Theme and the Museum mixes the Egyptian and Zoo Themes in such a fun way !!!
Finally I would like to share with you an item from the same Seller with which I fell in love when it was listed and thought that the originality of it would make it a must have item, hence quite expensive. And believe it or not, it only reached one bid and a second - mine - for a final price of 26.00 pounds :o which only covers either the cost of the accessories or the characters. The windmill - though not Playmobil - is the cutest thing I have seen in years. When one sees a very average item reaching silly prices and such a littel gem that never took off, one really wonders. I am genuinely over the moon with this purchase :

Absolutely stunning! :wow: :wow: :wow:
It's hard to choose, but I think I prefer the museum set-up over the perfume/boutique shop - mainly because of the wonderful originality of the idea and clever use of items from non-Victorian sets. It all flows together beautifully, almost as though it was an actual set designed by Playmobil.
The windmill you bought from emma.j is equally gorgeous!
I don't understand how you obtained it so cheaply. :o Was it ending at a time where traffic was low on the site? I can't imagine that even exorbitantly high postage and packing costs would have deterred bidders from this beautiful offering. Quite puzzled about that. :eh?:
This seller is definitely one to watch. Thanks for sharing her creations with us, Karim! :)
-
Hello Sylvia
This lovely windmill auction ended mid-afternoon and I put a bid for 30.00 pounds for fun as I thought there would be a last minute interest and rush and was really surprised to see I won the item when checking my Ebay account in the evening :).
The shipping costs are only 6.00 pounds which is very reasonable :yup: and by all means this item should have generated more interest and higher bids !!! I am equally puzzled 8}that such a gem showing for days has not attracted the eye of more bidders...
I love the use of Playmobil "wallpaper" in the Museum as it has the flavour of certain cartoons and is so much fun !!!
Karim ;)
-
The windmill is from silvanian families, I have been looking for one to modify for my playmobil town and they normally don't go this cheap without the PLM! I would change the Windcatchers with PLM pirateship parts, because the don't look so good.
-
Hello Karim,
You know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and as you say if it will fan the Victorian flames so much the better. I really enjoyed your links and like Sylvia I particularly enjoyed the museum and the way the themes were combined so nicely.
Your windmill bakery is a beautiful prize! I almost feel sorry for emma as she will probably not cover costs. Thank you for showing us these treasures.

Thank you, Karim, for sharing these beautiful photos.
It seems that almost singlehandedly you have led the way for new interest in the most wonderful theme ever created by Playmobil! (In my humble opinion, of course.) ... :klickywink:
All the best,
Richard
-
The museum is awesome, is she selling that aswell?
-
Yes, she does sell it too.
And by the way, do you know that I stayed up until 01.00am to load and post these pictures as I knew you would all enjoy them !!!
Even after a 12 hours shift 8}, I made a comitment to post them on playmofriends :yup:!!!
Karim ;)
-
Karim,
As always you never cease to please and overwhelm!! Thanks for the sharing of the wonderful talent that you have; and have found in others!! You certainly have renewed the interest in the Victorian theme. I'm on eBay trying to complete this theme and it is a bit of a challenge nowdays. :o
Janice

Thank you Karim for your commitment and generosity! :wow: It is amazing how many wonderful things we would miss if other members did not take the time and effort to collect them and bring them to our attention.

Hi Everyone
I hope that you are all well.
I have just received the windmill and I have checked that everything is complete, but my world, what a careless Seller when it comes to packaging...
A old box of crisps, not reinforced, items loose amongst crushed newspaper...a disgrace :o!!!
I have once sent back a mansion because what I received then looked more dumped than packed :'(...
I know I won it for 26.00 pounds and 7.00 pounds postage which was a bargain by all means >:D, but I do not think that it impacted on the packaging at all. I just think that the Seller is unfortunately very sloppy when it comes down to packaging.
I have been on Ebay for nearly six years and bought hundreds of items and I must say that I have only experienced 3 to 4 very bad packaging : the mansion which was dumped in a box, covered with dust and stains, a pair of Victorian Ladies which had to take a 3 days bath in a scented shower gel water as they were intoxicated with smoke >:(, a mirror which came broken and this box covered in cellotape with the angles opened and ripped. So not so bad as all the other items I purchased were perfectly wrapped and I sometimes even received depending on the season a card or a small box of chocolates :yup:.
Now that I have got my hands on the windmill, let see if I can work some Playmovictorian magic :) today and the final result in pictures to follow before listing it on Ebay this evening at 07.00pm UK time.
And my packaging will be nothing short of perfect, as it should 0)
Have a super week-end Playmofriends !!!
Karim ;)
-
The auction will be called "a day out in the Cotswolds" and the setting will be one of the most picturesque villages of the Heart of England : Broadway which is famous for his nice restaurants, Cotswolds stone buildings, thatched roofs, manicured gardens, summer fairs and now...its windmill !!!
Pictures to follow...
Karim ;)
-
For all my Playmofriends, the pictures as they are being taken...
Work in progress as the interior of the windmill is not accessorized yet but I know Gepetto :wow: likes to see how I come up with ideas :yup:...

Hi Guys :wow: !!!
It took me 6 hours, 2 cups of coffee and 2 large slices of freshly baked Apfelstrudel, not to forget 119 pix, a painful selection, but here is the final approved result...a perfect summer day out in the Cotswolds sitting under the shade of large trees and indulging in ice creams and tea with cakes next to a picturesque windmill...
Please do let me know what you think...
Have a great week-end !!!
Karim ;)
A perfect Sunday in the Cotswolds.
Where has the Cream of Victorian Society disappeared to on this glorious Sunday afternoon ?
Hyde Park is surprisingly quiet and even the Tea Lounge at the Ritz is deserted...
The answer to this puzzling mystery can be found leaving Victoria Station every Sunday afternoon at precisely 1.30pm : the Cotswolds Express.
Hyde Park's Upper Crust is flocking like birds to a tiny and very picturesque village called Broadway in the Heart of England.
The Cotswolds rolling hills, lovely thatched cottages, scented gardens, stone bridges also attract aspiring Painters on a Sunday like this.
An Artist is at work at the Honeysuckle Windmill today while our fashionable Victorian Friends are indulging in ice creams and cakes to die for while discussing the latest Transatlantic gossip after an afternoon of picking flowers and full baskets of juicy cherries...I think his name is a certain Auguste Renoir ? No doubt he has some talent, but certainly not enough to make his name into History...

A very good morning to you Playmofriends  !!!
Thank you for your comments !!!
The amazing sunny weather UK is experiencing for more than a month now combined to my holidays just 2 weeks away, a cup of coffee and an Apfelstrudel baking in the oven inspired a lovely Summer themed set which I located in the Cotswolds - one of England's most picturesque place to enjoy.
I believed at first that the windmill was a one off "toy" bought by Emma.j in a car boot sale but the eagle eye of a Playmofriend spotted a "Sylvanian" creation, and that gives me inspiration as far as new buildings are concerned.
I have a very large collection of Playmobil Victorian and accessories in the 1/12th scale and I will definitely buy a windmill for myself and other buildings in a theme that I have yet to discover...
So I believe that my happy little Victorians are heading towards new exciting adventures in unknown territories...new experiences which will be fully documented here, on Playmofriends !!!
Indianna - Thank you for inviting me here in the first place :wow:!!! You know that customizing was something that I have done more than a year for my own enjoyment and this is only when I offered a set on Ebay in February 09'that I realised that I had started "something" refreshing...
Kaethe - I fully agree with you that Emma.j's Museum idea is one of the most creative I have seen until now and everything is so inspired down to the wallpapers, I love it too.
Sylvia - I woke up this morning and the first thing I did was to go to the lounge which is already very bright although it is 07.00am only to enjoy the colourful display and there is no doubt that I will have great fun with it for the next 10 days until the auction is over as I always do...
Have a lovely Sunday !!!
Karim ;)
-
I cannot resist sharing with you Emma.j's latest item on a Victorian's Sunday Baking Competition which really has an atmosphere of its own :yup:( the idea of putting a picture of the Mansion instead of the real thing is quite interesting as it does not distract the attention and actually took me a while to realise it was not the real "macoy" - I am not sure about that word, sorry ??? )...
Emma has a great creativity and an eye for detail, if only her packaging skills could improve a bit, she would be perfect :yup:...
With myself and Britironbiker, Emma.j is offering highly customized and detailed sets. And I smiled at the thought this morning over a cuppa of all these parents desperate not to find in the shops anymore what is becoming a must have and sought after Theme by many children and adults alike which are re-discovering a Theme that became discontinued 5 years ago...
Considering the price these items reach 8}, I must be on the black list of more than one angry parent these days...
I remember when I revived the first Opera Diva of the Victorian Era - Maria Malibran - back in February - dressed in her dramatic black and red outfit - the Seller who was offering it as a pair on Ebay got totally overwhelmed by requests for Maria Malibran - a 19th century Opera Singer - how can one not smile at the thought of a little girl in 2009 asking for her "Maria"... star of my set "a Nightingale at the Mansion" :

I love the way Brit. has worked on the pictures display for her Royal Ball as it is so bright and cheerful that you feel you are part of the scene.
Here is a Set for you to enjoy, dear Playmofriends and I can almost smell the freshly baked cakes, or is that my Tarte Tatin nearly ready to eat ? :

Hello, Karim ...
Most of our members at Playmofriends usually seem to have great fun looking for, and finding, things ... ;)
In two of these wonderful photos of Emma's beautiful displays, there is one misspelled word. I wonder who will find it?
If you find it first, Karim, please, no hints.
Thank you for continuing to share these incredibly imaginative and lovely Victorian creations with us.
All the best,
Richard
Edit: Updated post to give Emma credit for the display.
-
I found it. ;D
It's Emma's error, not Karim's, since the pics are from one of her auctions. ;)

You are absolutely correct, Sylvia. It is indeed Emma's error!
Perhaps, in future, I should not be so distracted, by the beautiful photos and displays, so that I neglect to read the accompanying text ... :-[
I wonder how many other Playmofriends will also spot Emma's error?
BTW, Happy Mother's Day ... :*)
All the best,
Richard

Spotted it when I posted the pix as it jumped to me as a devil out of its box >:D !!!

Kaethe - I fully agree with you that Emma.j's Museum idea is one of the most creative I have seen until now and everything is so inspired down to the wallpapers, I love it too.
Karim ;)
i just went back to look at the museum, there is so much to look at, i love the way the egyptian playmo photo was used as the wallpaper, is that the box, or the catalogue, i could not quite tell.
another question, where did the brown curved shelves in the bakery come from, are they custom?
kaethe
-
Beautiful ideas with great attention to detail. Actually I am a purist and do not use anything not Playmo but those extras are extremely tempting and make me think "why not" :wow: The museum is especially fascinating. Thanks for the inspiration.
-
Certainly a miss there...
This is a beautiful Mansion in a lovely condition complete with all roof finials but one and impeccable attic wallpaper ( which are the two items usually missing or damaged ) and the Seller did not even bother to put his pix straight 8}...
The item will not reach the expected price and one will wonder why ??? ?

And a guaranteed hit there :yup:...
Great attention to details :wow:, lovely pictures, fun display...this auction will command not only more attention from Ebayers but also higher prices :yup:
I wonder where this idea of a little boy on his chair and these mischievous cats is coming from ? hmmm...let me think >:D

And finally before I head down to my home in South of France until mid-june 8-), here are the figures of my last 5 auctions :
Easter Sunday at the Mansion - 628 hits - 39 bids - 143.00 pounds
Pampering time at the Mansion - 241 hits - 28 bids - 87.00 pounds
Baking time at the Mansion - 306 hits - 34 bids - 120.00 pounds
Summer has arrived at the Mansion - 460 hits - 41 bids - 132.00 pounds
A Perfect Sunday in the Cotswolds ( active ) - 228 hits - 27 bids - 132.00 pounds ( still 5 days to go )
It is interesting to know that customized auctions like mine are bought by serious Collectors who are making multi purchases despite the high prices ( minimum of 2 auctions and up to 4 auctions )
Something fascinating about the hits is that an auction like Easter Sunday at the Mansion ended up with 522 hits back on the 14/04/09 and has nevertheless recorded 106 additional hits since then which means that people are viewing it long after it has ended...
I will try to create a new video with the pictures of these auctions as my previous video has reached 700 views so far and it is quite encouraging...
Catch up mid-June dear Playmofriends :) !!!
Karim

£350.00 for "A Perfect Sunday in the Cotswolds!"

One of Emma's other gems is "Victorian Wedding Party" which only reached 36.01 pounds on Ebay Uk...I honestly do not understand that such an effort :wow:, attention to details, quality of accessories and Playmobil figures did not reach a higher price. I would have definitely put a reserve price if my initial costs were not covered and I can tell you by experience that 36.01 does not cover neither the Playmobil items or accessories items...
I am lost for words ???
Karim :)

Hello, Karim ...
Thanks for posting all the wonderful photos of Emma J's marvelous creations.
Her "Picnic in Hyde Park" is indeed a marvelous "little gem" ... :wow: ... :wow: ... :wow:
Question: When you create a diorama of this type and offer it for auction on eBay, is EVERYTHING in the photo included?
Thanks again for sharing Emma J's lovely creations.
All the best,
Richard
-
Hello Richard
It is so nice to be back !!!
Yes, everything is included - figures, accessories, flooring, furniture, vehicles - so the initial costs are high as per the rarity of the Playmobil Victorian items and the quality of the 1/12th accessories that complete these sets.
Hence, my surprise at seeing that such a gem could go at only 36.01 pounds...
Emma.j's auctions have an atmosphere of their own and her eye for detail is second to none - see the wedding cards or the printed material for the 4th of July's Ball - and I love her sense of humour in the wet paint picture at the "Picnic in Hyde Park".
Her creations are unique and lovely !!!
Karim :)

Nice pictures
Thank you for sharing

Hi Guys
I will walk in the footpath of Richard and invite you to look for a spelling mistake in one of Emma.j's last auctions...
Have fun Playmodetectives !!!
Karim
-
Welcome back, Karim!
Emma J's work is absolutely exquisite! :wow: Thank you for sharing them.
-
Dear Playmodetectives
The answer to Richard's question on the previous spelling mistake is Cabernet [/color] opposed to the terrifying "Cabinet" which means toilets in French...
Now, how many of you will spot the second spelling mistake in Emma.j's last auctions ?
Have fun !!!
Karim ;)
-
Now, how many of you will spot the second spelling mistake in Emma.j's last auctions ?
I found it, Karim ...
Actually, the spelling error appears in at least five different photos. I won't give it away, so that others can also try to find it. However, I'll give one clue ... "SoA" ... ;D
Thanks, Karim, for the great photos and for some "detective" fun!
All the best,
Richard

The clue could also be "SuA" ... As, both appear to be correct ...

Thank you, Karim ...
That's a beautiful red on the Victorian automobile ...
And, Emma J's kitchen is indeed masterfully done. I have seen kitchens in real life that are that cluttered. It has always amazed me how anyone could work in such a crowded mess. It would drive me insane ... 8}
Thanks again and all the best,

The Old Windmill strikes again !!!
This time with Britironbiker which introduces her Windmill extravaganza at a Buy it Now price of....500 pounds 8} !!!
My "Perfect day out in the Cotswolds" auction reached a mind bogling 350 pounds 8} in May and I was the first surprised and it definitely - as we say in France "put some butter in my spinachs" ;D...
Sylvia :wow: - I listened to your sound advice and recreated a copy of my Windmill which is in my study with a special background lighting to make it come alive and I enjoy it on a daily basis ;)!!!
You'll be the Judge...just 5 days away will the "proof is in the pudding" time :yup:...

Oooh, I too have a sensory overload, what a beutifull setups, and those non playmo-food items.... Jummie! they make me hungry! they look so real, juicy and.....

Hi Playmofriends
I would like to raise a topic which has happened repeatedly lately on Ebay.co.uk in the shape of auctions being re-listed just a few days after being the object of an intense artificial bidding instead of genuine bidding >:(.
A Seller has been offering elaborate dioramas, all created with a great attention to details with a high starting price and an unrealistic buy it now option ranging between 250.00 and 500.00 pounds 8}!!!
These auctions are nevertheless selling at high prices but are systematically re-listed a couple of days later as an exact copy, down to the original pictures :yup:...
Should it have happened once, one may I have wondered if it was a genuine copy of a previous auction, but 4 are now highlighting an obvious artificial bidding of some kind which only exposes the Seller to quite a pathetic reality : Buyers are not be taken for cash cows as easily as certain unscrupulous Buyers are thinking they are .
Karim ;)
-
What an odd situation, do these sellers have an established history or are they just opportunists trying to take advantage of the renewed interest in these dioramas?
Gepetto
-
Hello Gepetto
No, the Ebay Seller I am referring to is one of my followers and was certainly impressed by the unexpectedly high final price of 350.00 pounds of my auction "a perfect Sunday out in the Costwolds" to suddenly raise the game to much higher stakes.
It did not work according to plans and this artificial bidding ends up with an auction that has to be re-listed and knowing the rather limited and knowledgeable people interested in buying exceptional dioramas, her credibility will suffer accordingly.
It is easy to re-list a ready made item, not quite so easy when it comes to a highly detailed, customized set like ours...
A Playmofriend once asked me if my auctions included everything and I replied that yes they do, down to the last accessory, working lights, flooring, vehicles, etc :yup:.
But in order to appeal to a maximum of Buyers, I always put my starting bid at 3.99 and I often see in the bids of less than 40 pounds Parents trying to get a customized set for their children and then it takes off when the Collectors are putting their bid but never up to silly prices and one must respect the market demand, especially in recession times like ours.
Putting a buy it now option of 400.00 + pounds is a lunacy and shows clear intention of treating the Buyers like the cash cows that they are not >:(.
I strongly believe that Sellers like Emma.j and myself are genuinely putting our heart in what we are creating and somehow the people acknowledge our effort to create a diorama as achieved and poetic as possible.
I wish I could inspire other Sellers to enjoy themselves more while creating a diorama and then leave the auction to its own chance as this is what makes Ebay so fun when the bids have started.
In my first auctions back in February, I vividly remember myself having a glass of merlot and checking the final hours of 4 of my auctions ending over a one hour period, and I nearly fell off my chair when I saw the bids raising and raising, but it was then and I never expected these auctions to do so well. I first and foremost create a diorama for my pleasure going through hours and hours of researching the perfect accessory to compliment the Playmobil Victorian Set, the flooring, the working lights, and then go through the process of trying endlessly to find the perfect lighting for pictures always keeping in mind the fun and poetic character - as it ultimately relates to our youth - of our little Friends. The final stage being a fun introduction story that adds to the poetic touch, always with the Victorian Society on my mind.
Fun is what it is all about :)!!!

Hello,
I'd like to say a big thanks to everyone who liked my sets and I was surprised about some comments made. I was worried about people not liking what I had done now I have found out its the description thats the important thing - damn spell checker
I agree with Playmovictorian about the odd bidding and start price of auctions. I started like others with low prices and got no where, I could have put a reserve price on my items but I find this puts people off bidding so I've learnt my lesson and start things at the price I'd be happy to sell for and if they don't go I'm not worried. Unlike some people who are clearly bidding on their own work to try and create interest. If you dont love it and are only doing it for a trade then just sell the basic sets. Like Playmovictorian I try my best to make sure everything is in keeping with the style and period of the diorama I'm doing. I cringe when I see a BMX bike and hot dog signs in the middle of a Victorian set! :(
I love doing these sets and I've got loads of ideas I'd like to do. I only sell them so I can afford to buy more to try to do new things or so I can afford to add onto my Victorian Mansion or my Palace. I'm just so addicted.
Thanks to PlaymobilVictorian for her helpfull comments I'm afraid the Windmill was sent in the biggest box I could get - don't worry I've taken a leaf out of your book and every thing is now packed to perfection! :P
-
Hello Karim and thank you for the clarification, I have a better understanding of the 'shilling' that you are referring to. I am always happy to see such tactics backfire on their perpetrators.
Gepetto
-
Hello Emma.j
I am sooo happy you finally joined us !!!
I do agree with your comments as you and I are ultimately creative people who really enjoy the process of planning, researching, putting together and photographing our dioramas.I could not speak about my work, but I can certainly say that your creations are not only crafted, but also poetic and fun :yup:.
Please do not worry for the spell checking as it can happen to anyone and being a French man, English is not my native tongue too ;).
I believe that your "4th of July" and the "Museum" dioramas were big hits here as your attention to details was second to none and I must say that your "Busy day in a Victorian kitchen" had the ultimate wow factor for me :wow: :wow:!!!
Could you please take us through the process of creating a new diorama : painting existing Playmobil Victorian furniture - ie "Chinese Chamber" auction, printing material - ie "Museum" and "4th of July" :yup:?
Once again, welcome to Playmofriends !!!
Karim ;)
PS : do not worry for my comments with regards to the packaging, but I am a sucker for details and a perfectionist who colour coordinates his wrapping / tissue paper to its theme and add a personalized Thank You card to my Clients. I guess I spoil them too much :-[
-
Hello Karim,
I'll try to start a new post describing how I do a diarama from start to finish if people are interested.
???
This might show my addiction to ebay though! I must spend too much time on there looking for bits to use and any bargin Playmobil. I'm a shopaholic so I've really had to cut down on my spending as I'm an out of work student at the moment studying horticulture.
But I'm sure every one will agree once you start collecting you just cant stop. ;)

Hello Karim,
I'll try to start a new post describing how I do a diarama from start to finish if people are interested.
Hello Emma,
I for one, would looove to see how you go about creating one of your dioramas!! The 4th of July dance was an inspiration :wow:, such a clever idea so well executed.

Hello Karim,
I got a very interesting message this morning I just had to share with you.
Oh my goodness, I cannot believe it. I have just spent a week getting together a similar set to auction on EBAY. It as happened before but you always get yours in before me. They say everyone as a Doppelganger and I think you are mine. We may not look alike 'who knows' but we certainly think alike. This is a fabulous set and they keep getting better. However, I know what this lot costs in parts, let alone time. You must be doing it simply for love. I adore your sets and look expectantly for your new ones appearing. God bless you girl and keep up the good work
This was from the eBay seller you and Gepetto where just talking about.
I'm sure you'll have a laugh when she says I'm her doppelganger - is she trying to say I copy her work even though I manage to have come up with these ideas well before her? ???
I'm a mind reader and I didn't know it!
I also thought it was interesting that she says I must only be doing it for love - implying that she's doing it for the money? This echoes what you said earlier about cash cows.
Quote from Playmovictorian on July 17th
Putting a buy it now option of 400.00 + pounds is a lunacy and shows clear intention of treating the Buyers like the cash cows that they are not .
I strongly believe that Sellers like Emma.j and myself are genuinely putting our heart in what we are creating and somehow the people acknowledge our effort to create a diorama as achieved and poetic as possible.
I wish I could inspire other Sellers to enjoy themselves more while creating a diorama and then leave the auction to its own chance as this is what makes Ebay so fun when the bids have started
As to thinking alike it must be all three of us who think alike as it's amazing how she has the ideas first but it's both of us who manage to share them with everyone else first. ;)
Trouble is when she "gets" a new idea she then flogs it to death. It must be dead as she seams to have to relist a lot of work as you've mentioned.
Oh well I'm sure she'll sell her new set as she's got the Rolls Royce set and has a guaranteed buyer!
Emma.

Hello Emma & Gepetto
What a trio of world class Detectives we would make ;)!!!
The below auction has already been relisted twice and is reaching her final hours without a single bid ;)...
A starting price of 150.00 pounds and a buy it now of 370.00 pounds is pure lunacy and her greed has killed her own game unfortunately ...
As you cleverly mentioned to me earlier on, the same Buyer will save the day by buying the set at an extortionate price. Buyer that happens to live in the same postcode, pays every auction hundreds of pounds, leave raving reviews including every superlative in the dictionary...only to see the same auction being relisted with identical introduction and pictures ? I mean, what is the interest of doing this as it now becoming so obvious that this Seller will become a joke on Ebay sooner than later :yup:...
As I said before and this applies to so many areas in life, being honest and genuine always pays off. Whether this is about Emma.j, Bill, Tricorne or McGayver's creations, their sincerity and generosity transpires through each and every picture that they bring with all their heart for us to enjoy :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:.
Karim ;)

Hello Karim and Gepetto,
all I can think of is she cant bear to have people think her "superior" sets dont sell.
I cant wait till later to see if her loyal bids on it to have just one more set for themselves!

Good evening Playmofriends
Just a quick update on the trend on Ebay UK and a very good surprise :yup:...
First of all, the diorama "fashion" has not survived the summer and the artificial bidding of a Seller who was really not inspired to have a friend bidding on her items up to silly prices, only to relist the same item with exactly the same pictures the following week and finally gave up in the end   !!! No comment...
The new trend is to sell accessories such as hats, aprons, flowers, scarves, bags in very well presented and photographed auctions for quite a highprice : I have recently seen 3 assorted bags for 4.99, and a serie of window flower boxes at 3.99 each. The roof finials being the most sought after item as it is with the attic wallpaper the first thing a Collector will check when considering buying a Victorian Mansion.
Where Ebay.com ( US ) and Ebay.fr ( France ) are usually listing Playmobil Victorian sets or individual items to high if not extortionate prices, Ebay.co.uk ( UK ) is still quite reasonable and I hit the jackpot again last night with the Victorian Fishstand unboxed but complete at 7.50 pounds 8} !!!
The Market Stands ( Jewellery, Flowers, Vegetables, Pets and Fish ) have become rarities which are usually snapped by Collectors but obviously not last night as I put a bid of 10.00 pounds thinking "oh well, just for the sake of Lady Luck" and went on with my shopping and only found out this morning that I won the Fishstand !!!
It will be kept for a later diorama :yup:...

OK, I’ll bite… ¿Is that windmill an actual Playmobil set? (Never seen it before…)

Hi Andy
How nice to hear from you !!!
The windmill is from the Sylvanians Collection which match exactly the PLaymobil scale and you will see in Emma Jane's lovely creations a few Sylvanians buildings...

Good evening Playmofriends
I have an odd one to share with you when it comes to the Victorian Theme...
We all know by now that it by now how difficult it is to find an item of this collection BNIB ( Brand New in Box ) so how about two "wholesale lots" currently sold on Ebay for the items 5500 and 5503 -10 of each if you please !!!
The Seller is based in Osaka and the current price is 75.00 GB pounds with a shipping cost of 25.00 GB pounds :
Playmobil Victorian 5500

(http://img67.imageshack.us/img67/4120/40076462.jpg) (http://img67.imageshack.us/i/40076462.jpg/)
Playmobil Victorian 5503
(http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/839/61866542.jpg) (http://img210.imageshack.us/i/61866542.jpg/)
(http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/7439/26636935.jpg) (http://img66.imageshack.us/i/26636935.jpg/)
The same Seller currently also sells the item 5503 on an individual basis BNIB at 17.00 GB Pounds + 4.00 GB pounds shipping costs which is very reasonable for such a sought after item which easily this price and more on Ebay.de and unboxed :yup:
Item 5503 on a Brazilian website :

I would love to hear from Gus with regards to the market value of the Victorian theme in Brazil :yup: !!!

So is the $16.50 per unit a decent price ? It looks like they both went for the same end price and to the same buyer .

I just wish the re-release of the Fish Stand (http://www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-DE-Site/de_DE/Product-Show?pid=7455&cgid=Ds_Gebaeude_und_Einrichtung) was more like the original, it is a real gem . I really hope this one makes it to the US and Playmobil re-releases a few more
