Title: House Extensions

With the new Suburban House coming out, does anyone know if Playmo will discontinue (ie--clearance) the house extensions for the Modern House? Or will they continue on to be part of DS? Just wondering if I should go ahead and get them before they're gone, or wait to see if they go on sale! Thanks, guys (and gals!)!

Nikki,

The direct service online catalog shows three new additions for the modern house, so you're probably ok waiting.  Also, in my experience, clearance doesn't usually mean discount - it just means they aren't making anymore.  The modern houses are always nearly full price even on e-bay, so when they are discontinued, they may actually be more expensive(think airport security, grocery store, post office . . .).

I kind of thought as much, but haven't paid much attention to the extensions in the past.  I "stole" the Modern House at Craigslist for $45, fully furnished with only a few small pieces missing (oh, and minus a bathroom!), and I really want to expand it to make room for the nursery and a bathroom!  (It came with kitchen, living, office, master bedroom, and kids' rooms!)  I think I'll just break down and buy the extensions before they're gone and I end up having to kick myself!

Let me tell you about kicking ones self. When i first started collecting the 5300 house was not on my list of things I wanted  :doh: but I sure remember seeing the expansion floor for $42 on Playmobil clearance back then. Now if you can find one MIB it is like $150 or more    :hissyfit:

Difficult to answer, because looking at the steck system there had been parts/sets at DS catalogue available for many more years with the small remark "only usable with castle xxxx + xxxx". So this might be a proof that they will be still available for a while but on the other hand I also was surprised how fast some of the items disappeared and like Rasputin I could have kicked myself for not buying them in time.
