Hey everyone,
I was doing a bit of dusting over the weekend and finally got around to taking a few pictures.
I figure I'll start with the fire department, since that makes up the majority. :)
The fire department now operates from 6 stations.
5 engine companies, 2 ladders and 1 quint, 5 medic units, 1 heavy rescue, and quite a few spares and staff cars.
-
Staff cars and the squads. The blue truck belongs to the chief with the others being the EMS and shift supervisors. The 5 medic units are supported by 4 of the older styles squads in case of maintenance, accident, etc.
-
Now the shelves.
-
All of the fire trucks are separated by stations. Eventually I want to build stations for each. I have one almost finished that is covered in a tile that looks like Playmobil sized stone. :-[
-
I also have some classic stuff that I'm pretty excited about.
-
Anyways, that's all I have. With the new fire trucks and citylife sets, I'm sure it will only get larger. ::)
Thanks for taking the time to view the pictures.

Thank you for the photos Ben, that is quite a collection you have there! :wow:
Very civilized storage too, where do you keep the figures? I am afraid you are right in that there will always be an opportunity for us to grow personally (figuratively and collection-wise) :yup:.

Wonderful collection, Ben, and nicely displayed. Like Gepetto, I'd interested in what you do with the figures.
I hope when we get moved to a new place to do something similar myself, I even hope to have the basics for a diorama out all the time so I can quickly build up scenes. Still, we've got to move first!
-
Wow what a fleet of cars and vehicles you have :o
Thanks for sharing.
-
Impressive collection Ben! I'm sure you've seen the new series due out soon, so be ready to expand!
-
Thanks everyone for the compliments. As for the klickys, there is a large blue bucket on one of the shelves (it used to hold mushrooms at a restaurant) that one holds all the civilians. All the other ones are stored in plastic bags separated by themes. I also have quite a few large boxes of spare parts and sets that are net yet complete.
Bill, I already have the new rescue and ladder trucks on order from a store up in Michigan. ;D

But they aren't due out in the States until 2010!

I couldn't wait! ;D

So it used to hold mushrooms, but now it's full of fun guys? <hi hat cymbal noise>

You're on the ball then! I've still got some other items I need to get before they retire :-\ before worrying about the new items!
-
Thanks for the pictures of your impressive collection and it is so tidy and clean . .
-
Very nice collection, Ben. :wow:
Thanks for posting the pictures.
Best regards,

BTW Ben, not to be nosey, but how many of each type of the new vehicles have you reserved so far? Like 10 of the new rescue engines, & 6 of the Tower Ladders, 4 of the chiefs vehicles, & 2 of the boats, & trailers, not to mention the direct approach fire suit outfitted Klickys? ;D! Just wondering because you said "trucks" were on order :woohoo:!
-
So far just the rescue and the ladder (1 of each). I think if I like them enough, everything will eventually get replaced. I'm working on side-mount pumps for all the 3880's, making them a little more US style.
