My name is Coriander, or Cori for short. I am pretty new to Playmobil, and I have fallen in love! I am still learning where my interests are... right now I want everything! And I'm interested in customizing, and making displays.
I started with some Christmas sets, and then discovered Fairies. Now that I'm learning more, I realized that my brother and I had a set or two as children. I am hoping to find them in our boxed up toys that my parents saved. (Oh, I'm 32.)
I'm married, but don't have kids. I have a cute pembroke welsh corgi named Daisy though. I live in Western, NY, in the US. I'm also a musician, and a gamer. I love games like Carcassonne, Ticket to Ride, and Alhambra. I've been known to play some D&D as well.

Welcome from the UK. I hope you find some of your old Playmobil which must be quite early stuff.

Welcome Cori, from South Carolina USA! Just wait until you start seeing the older retired items on eBay, it will become an obsession from then on !

I spent a few hours looking at ebay today, heh.
I originally was interested in starting a train set, and when we got to the craft store, they also had Playmobil. Then I learned there is a Playmobil train!
Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I am so happy you all!

Welcome Cori,
great to have you here!
I often thought that Playmobil would be an ideal medium for D&D or other tabletop roleplaying, as you could customise your character to have any weapons/armour and overall look that you wanted. I wonder if people do that?
cheers, Martin

welcome cori, from san francisco. i am a mom, who saved all of the playmobil from my son (32) and daughter (29), as it was such a treat when we bought them, and they were so different from any of the other toys available in the states. when we moved, a few years ago, i discovered the boxes of smiling faces and remembered all of the good times they provided, and started buying all of the pieces we could not justify spending the money on back then. i have always collected all of the medical themes, so i finally finished building a medical center, not too long ago. hope you can find your old toys. kaethe

My husband is a collector himself, so he has no room for complaining! ;D
I think it would be really fun to try table top RPG with playmo! Totally!
The more I look, the more I can find something interesting to do with any of the sets. But I admit, my first loves are the fairies and flowery ones and the mushroom head lil guy and um... and and and!
So far, the best part of the forum is just how excited everyone else is about their collections, too! I love it!

Welcome, Cori, from northern California!
You played D&D? I used to play it. It is rare to find women who have played it.
You are a musician as well? What do you play?
