Birthday cake from ~1 month ago for our older son's birthday (9). Other than setting up the 'foundation', he did the rest of the layout in a couple of 10min before the party. Cake was from local Target bakery, it's from a stock cartoon design (over the hedge/open season iirc, choose it for the river design) sans figure decorations. Oh the Lego Mars Mission guys on the wall? It was a dual-theme party with games to match ;D

Hi,
nice idea to combinate a cake with real playmostuff.
Do you make the cake yourself ?

Very clever idea!
I bet that cake was a real hit with the guests at the party. 8-)
I have a 9-y-o son too so I can just imagine the eye-boggling reaction it would have received. ;D

a great idea core. :wow:
also usable in wedding cakes with the new wedding theme. :yup:

Thanks all for the kind compliments; the cake was store-bought (Target is a retailer with supermarket section, found only in the US). The cake was definitely a hit at the party, amongst other things! I'm liking the possibilities of cake deco using Playmo in the future.
For our #2's 6th birthday this June, we'll see what he's into then (at the moment it's Playmo Construction/Train).

That is really neat . Usally we just ask the baker to make a cake with the chosen theme, stick some Klickies in the cake and call it good . I never thought of doing something this elaborate . Thanks for the great idea and showing your sons creation .

What a great idea. It looks great. Was it hard building the Playmo around the cake without damaging it?
