Title: My VERY FIRST custom!
Post by: Gustavo on August 30, 2008, 19:14:07
Hello, Playmofriends!

If there's something easy to me is to give names to klickys,
but to give klickys to names is a rather difficult art,
in which I am a beginner!

This isn't a famous character, (certainly not the famous writer!),
but only one of my characters, from stories written before.

I noticed that I had some elements to make him come to
klicky,
& now, here he is:

Let me know what you think about it,
although, not knowing him, you won't have much to think ...

Yours,
Gus

That is a very nice custom Gus, somewhat rakish! No sword?

Very nice custom, Gus - definitely the Bohemian sort.

Ah! the pen is mightier than the sword. :)

Very nice, the colours go well together and everything in his costume fits.

Now we need to know more about Hugo; what times did he live in, what was he writing about, did he have any companions?

I still think you could photograph in better focus by moving the camera back about six inches, and then cropping to get the framing you want. The backgrounds are in better focus than the figure, and we really want it the other way round. I don't always use macro mode for close-ups, and I always get better focus than this.

If I manage to do all my internet affairs early, I'll try to do it still tonight, Martin! You've got to be right, and I need better pictures of Hugo!

Besides, I can manage resizing with Photobucket, now, so, it's a bit easier to do it as I like it ... I think it'll work out!

Hi Gus

The custom figure looks good.

The lady riding a boar-headed man in the background adds additional flavor!

The lady riding a boar-headed man in the background adds additional flavor!

Specially in the crazy picture of the frantic writer, aye Tim! 8}

Even so I followed Martin's advice, and took some pictures some inches away, so as to get a better focus ... It reasonably worked out, but it's a bit ... er, I'm a bit nuts about sizing, so, the croping process is giving me some work, and I'm without the time I need :'( ! ... It's different than shooting and automatically resizing ... And the focus doesn't get thaaat much better, but it does get better, so (it works, Martin), I'll put the pictures attached here, as soon as I manage to do it ... (Hard days at work haven't been helping either.) Not to mention the condo meetings. Guys in my building got crazy! >:(

Anyway, I hope on the weekend (who knows before ... hm, unfortunately I don't think so) I'll bring them from "the bucket" to Playmofriends :)

As well as write a bit about him, if I may ...

nice custom

Thanks, Michael :)

It can't be true to say that the stories of the Degendorf came from playmowanderings of a young man, not only,
But it would be unfair not to admit that one very peculiar part did take its inspiration from playmobits ...
This was the story of Fredenando y Sophia, which came to give birth to most all the stories after that.

Hugo isn't in the story of the hidalgo.
No, for this character, dressed in black, first appeared in the second version
Of the La Búsqueda al Morciélago Gigantesco ...
In which Hugo had, in the saddlebag, the company of Batracho,
A story that might as well be told here, if lucky is the not so young a man who give you this custom.

He did not know that Hugo had walked with the elf Sophia, but it came out of playmobits ...
(For the story of the Búsqueda takes place in the 1400s, but this Hugo is way before those days,
 it should be said ...)

You will know of Sophia better, the not so young a man hopes, in the stories of Fromgar
Yet to be told.

HERE, you will see Hugo in the days of Elmo.
We don't have the slightest idea of where he is from; Some characters need to remain so.
He has just arrived from his noone-knows-where-to journeys,
They* say, he travels a lot to Sycia, and you, Playmofriends, it is hoped, will soon hear of Sycia,
Or not that soon, but will, because the paper for the scenario is bought already!

*Old Procopius was intrigued by Hugo's wanderings, who was that one a physician in the Degen village.
So was Fürchtegott, the blacksmith, who took place in the first company of the La Búsqueda;
It seems that these are the main "they", in these stories.

Hugo, whose family is as well a mystery to his neighbours,
Had he a cubiculum in the House of the Innkeeper, Carolullo, for some time.

He used to spend long times in wandering, by then, but,
Whenever back, he would come in, look around,
& think, gazing at the fountain and the church building in front of Carolullo's inn,
That it was usually good to be back to that ephemerous home ...

Not only to wander around between the Deggen, Tapia & Sycia did Hugo,
But in the imagination & literary creation as well. / If we are to have anything written in these days,
If not by the merit of that young man who grew not so young only,
This man would say that he would never had written anything if it was not for klickys
To be around ...

In a way, the moments of klicky Hugo working are a bit like
& Not so different than the moments of your mate taking klickys out of boxes ...
He would gladly blame the klicky to have written these stories, but he knows better,
He will not incur in such a deceit ...
It is said by some that writers are men of deceit.
Well, writers do some things different, in their ways of telling what happens around them,
&, However, I am to defend them : some, seldom do tell a lie!
As long as they know what they do with their chosen words.

Many of then have spent long times in a cubiculum,
The window facing the fountain of the dorf, and the movement around it,
& The secret affairs in the nearby streets of the rich neighbourhood at the north of the church building,
Just behind the city defence headquarters, ...
Such are some of the thoughts that come around in Hugo's mind, in an afternoon of
September of a first quarter, when ...
