WOW, that's a nice set :o :)9 with a Claas harvester?? Playmobil hasn't forgotten how to make good sets (I'm thinking of the not so good, in my opinion, American fire engine.).

A nice set, but a very expensive one! The building on the right looks very interesting - a mix of System-X house and farm buildings.

Those are all System X farm building parts I think, and the harvester has been available in the past. I don't see anything new there, and that is a big price. I think that's the same or even more than the THW large set was and it was all exclusive repaints.

I guess that's good value if you're starting a farm theme from scratch, but if you already have some of this stuff, could you justify duplicating it at that price?
I think that's just too big , and it'd sell better broken down into smaller sets.

its around 200 quid! its a lot! but those shops like kaufhof, karstadt are very epensive ayway, because they are highstreet shops!

Thanks for the link. I like the new colored harvester . So we in the US get all the funky WalMart sets and Europe gets new colored big sets. They had the Green Construction set, then the blue Fire/rescue set, The RC diesel train, not to mention all the individual trucks like the flatbed tow-truck, the victorian truck and I am sure there are more ....... :'( :'( :'( :'( That is one crying face for all the unhappy people at our house . My wife would be a happy face ;D ( less money spent )

Is this the biggest and most expensive set Playmobil has ever offered? I'm not a farm collector, but I'd like to see this big set start a trend and pave the way for a large Roman forum, Roman villa, Roman fort, and a Celtic village. Yes, I've posted this wish before, but I've a one track mind! ;)

I think, because of the price this set would be a kind of shopkeeper (I didn't know this english word before ;D). Kaufhof also offered the THW-Sets for a lot of money in the beginning and they still offer them much cheaper now. :yup:

I'm not sure they're all farm parts, Tim. Some look like they're from the System-X family house and others from the airport series. A bit of creative re-assembly.

Is this the biggest and most expensive set Playmobil has ever offered? I'm not a farm collector, but I'd like to see this big set start a trend and pave the way for a large Roman forum, Roman villa, Roman fort, and a Celtic village. Yes, I've posted this wish before, but I've a one track mind! ;)
I feel the exact opposite, I'd rather see this set broken down into half a dozen much smaller, affordable sets that can be bought over a period of time. It'd still add up to the same in the end, but wouldn't feel like swallowing a whole watermelon in one gulp.

yeah.. and when u buy egypt stuff.. here its reduced allready:
anno-time.de but i still think its cheaper when u buy in uk as lots of germany shops still calculationg with an exhange rate from 1.5x even its only 1.2.. there is no reason to buy anything over germany or so... when u live in uk.. except u gt nice ebay offer!!!

I think it is a nice set for everyone interested in the farming topic...
...and as always, they place it for a mad price two weeks or so to reduce it to 130-100€.
Then you got a lot of stuff for your money...

looks like i have to play lotto in the future :p as iam actually intressted in the farm set too.. just seen at the box peoperly .. looks actually not bad.. and hell ya u might be right.. as the thw set is reduced under 100 euro.. i guess to chrismas it will be at the same price level..

That's exactly what it is. I love the mix of different system X parts, very inspirational. I can't wait to see the parts list on this monster. I would like to try to replicate the big open out building for the combine. I have a lot of farm equipment that needs protection from the Playmo-weather. :lol:
Anybody notice that this poor farm family lives right underneath what appears to be a hay loft. :hmm:
I would think that would get kind of dusty. *aaahhhh-chooooo!*

There is nothing really new here....it's just so well executed. I am quite drawn to the tan colored bench and the shed roof porches on the farmhouse, it's just lovely. :)

Thank you from me, too, Tomplay. That larger picture is really useful for the extra detail. How they've used System-X in the farmhouse is really clever, and the farmhouse I notice is modern yet traditional in it's layout, large breakfast kitchen and semi-open plan rooms.
The barn gives some idea for a fire station, if I had the space and money.

3735 - Harvest Cart (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3735) (thanks to playmofool for the closer look), a set from 1992. The other figures in the small sets are newer, but, I'm pretty sure, previously-issued as well. The 4055 farmer, by the looks of it, is the one in 4179 - Farmer Carrying Case (http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4179), so now we'll find out his number, and perhaps numbers for the new tools in that set too.

It's really a massive set and actually remembered first of your pic with your wife (?) holding the large THW set you bought recently when I saw the farm set first time in the store.
Yes, and actually the farmhouse design was the reason I bought this set (and the included barn/garage). Because one thing I always criticize with the 4490 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4490) large farmhouse was that it actually is not a farmhouse but a large barn -- where should the farmer and his wife live in there? With the 4055 a really countryside farm building went out. So quite a cool addition to my modern theme collection.

There's a tree, with this one, and wlnderful pieces of furniture. Not to mention even vehicles! Wow!, this set is amazing! ... It gives me an itch ;D but ... well a castle first ::)

Looks like this set is down to 99 Euros now, starting to get reasonable for something this large. I'm new here - anybody have tips on how best to order something from a German site and have it shipped to the US? Looks like it could be complicated! I could possibly contact an old friend who lives in Germany, but it might be inconvenient for him to re-ship something.

I constantly buy stuff from many overseas countries and for as long as the shipping costs are confirmed and reasonable, I do not see any reason why this could not be sent to the US.
I have had stuff sent to me from Singapore, Japan, SA, USA, Canada, NZ, OZ, Argentina, etc. without any trouble whatsoever over the years and all arrived impeccably packaged and within the expected delays.
Just make sure you check the terms & conditions before you agree to the purchase :yup:.

Be prepared to pay dearly for shipping costs depending on size, & weight! Shipping approximately 5 kilos, is around 40.00 EUROS :o.

Yes, I did notice the date on this thread. Maybe by now, everyone else already has this set! In case anyone is still interested, I just bought it on ebay for $99.! Free shipping via Fed Ex! Now, I've not been wanting a farm, but it seemed like too good a deal to pass up, what with the farm house and all! The seller started with four sets available. Last I checked he/she still had one left.

I have just checked on UK EBay, and there are several "Buy it Now" which are around the £90 - £100 mark (including post & packaging). Someone is going to lose a sale though, as there is another there for £236 plus £31 post and packing :omg:
