Hi there,
I am a mid-thirties mother of two and I have a growing fascination with Playmobil. I am new to collecting, and mostly buy for my children (I swear). I like all of the themes, but my favorites are Knights (steck because they are more aesthetically pleasing to me) and the Modern city line. My Playmo dream would be to have both a modern city street with all of the systemX city buildings and its counterparts in both the medieval(which will be much harder) and Victorian(which will be much more expensive). I could make a "playmobil through the ages" diorama . . . and from reading some of the posts here I can tell that yall won't think I'm crazy.
I am glad to meet all of you and am happy to be able to discuss Playmo with others who love it too.

Welcome Kelly, good to see you here, I think you'll enjoy the community!
There are indeed Playmobil buildings that form a medieval street scene, with a Pottery, Bakery, Town hall etc, but they're not in production anymore, though I could have got them off eBay if I sold my own house to pay for them.
Playmobil still produce European Medieval style buildings available, though they are not cheap - I got the 7785 Red house & the 7145 white house & barn (much better value I felt) a few months ago, but haven't added to them or had room to set them up.

Your diorama idea sounds fascinating as well as very challenging. I'd love to see some photos if you ever get a chance to do something like this. Any pics of your collection will be very welcome, of course. 8-)

I'm very happy to come to meet fathers & mothers who went into the klickyworld because of their sons & daughters, because it's different from me, who went into them as a child myself. (Back in 1979 (@ age of 3), 1980 & '81 ...)

I have a 4 year old daughter who loves her modern city (mansion, police station, beauty shop). She also has a magic castle - it was the only present she asked Santa for last Christmas. I also have a 9 year old son who used to play with the pirates (mostly he just used the cannon to shoot the klickies off of his bed) but now thinks that they are uncool because his baby sister likes them. He thinks that I have too much Playmo and is always saying things like "Not the toy store again!!!" and "We already have too much of that stuff, mom." He will eventually see the light . . .

Very nice to meet a fellow Texan. While I now live in Mississippi, I am a Fort Worth girl at heart. We moved out of Texas a few years ago for my husband's job, and it was one of the hardest decisions we've ever made (at least my kids were born before we moved - making them Texan, too). Both sets of our parents live in DFW. My sisters brother-in-law is the closest to you. He's a fireman in Round Rock.
I envy your music scene and your HEB and many other cool things that aren't available in the south of Mississippi.
