Hello, I've found pictures of several new Target-sets on ebay:
There are a few suprises, like the very first Roman Special (!!) which comes back in a blister (with the other Roman Special) and the 4775 Take-Along-Foresttower which was also to be seen in the new German catalogue and due for release in Germany...next year!
But have a look for yourselves... ;)
-
more...
watch the shoulder-mounted shields!
-
last ones (for now?)...
Wouldn't the fire-helicopter make a good army attackhelicopter when painted?
-
Well dang, you beat me to it. Oh well, I have images of a few others that aren't pictured here. Take a look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/raptorbandito/sets/72157606528682741/
-
Thanks for the additional pics! :) And sorry, you had a lot of work probably with the pics, I found the ones I posted accidentally on ebay... :-[
I'll add the front-pics of 5841 and 5843 to the pics I posted on Klickywelt and Laughinggiraffe, with the link to your website, I hope that's ok with you...
I also hope Playmofire and the other firefans are pleased with that new (american) firetruck? I have to get used to it's american looks...
-
No problem at all :)
-
I think that is the first time a vehicle makes sounds ???
-
Thanks Starhorse! Could you add the front pics of 5841 and 5843? A link might not work eternally...
PS:
I'm putting up a link on 'Klickywelt' to the forum here, because all the pics I posted on 'Klickywelt' (the same ones I posted here) were removed because of possible copyright-issues...
I want to repeat that the pictures I've posted here, are found on ebay and that they're not mine...I hope it won't be a problem and they won't have to be removed here too? ???
-
so those look like all the larger set does any know about the specials ?
I am glad they are doing more romans . 2 seasons now
I like the new elves ( if that is what they are )
my kids will love the dark winged knights
The fire truck is a little, i do not know but it looks strange ( i hope its just the picture )
When the egyptians come out i hope target does the same thing with so many cheep extra klickies
Thank you so much for posting the info . Starhorse and Hadoque :wow:

Hello starhorse,
May I copy your photos to add to PlaymoDB? USA-only sets are harder to find good pictures of, since they often don't turn up on any official website, so I'm very glad to see these. I'd also love to have large clear scans of the instructions, if you can manage it, so I can get the sets inventoried. Thanks!
Cheers, Heather

I spent a lot more than $3.99 for the previously somewhat rare centurion in 5827 on ebay last year! >:( Still, I'm glad to see the re-release of these early Roman Specials and some other recycled Roman items, especially 5841 and 5837, although some new Roman items would be even more welcome.
I like the Celtic shield in 5831 and the blond klicky, with new hair, would be a good barbarian for the Romans or could work as is for the medieval theme. I don't care much for the rest of the set.

Hi Heather,
Yes, please do use the images if you'd like. I took them all at the store, but I did end up buying the smaller forestmen set. I'll try to take some pictures of the instructions for you tomorrow.
-
Thanks for the pictures, Hadque, and the link, starhorse.
There seems to be a new fire pump system in the small set, but as regard the fire engines, they don't attract me at all I'm afraid. Like the ghost pirates, Playmobil seems to be copying cheaper products here. I can't remember the name of the range, but Tim Tierman probably can as, but a fire engine very similar to the new Playmobil one (and with figures) has been on the market for some years. The fire helicopter looks small for the job I think.
Rasputin, there used to be a 123 motorcycle which made an engine noise. Playmobil very wisely made it so the parent could switch it off!
I wonder if any of the locker doors on the fire engines open?
What I want to see is a fire engine based on the Unimog, like the new construction truck, so I hope that there'll be a European fire engine to come.
-
I've found the range I was thinking of, here's a picture, although it's not as much like the new PM ones as I thought. But there are also a number of other ranges in stores such as Asda and Woolworth's which the new PM truck still more closely resembles mind, and I probably had these in.
-
Thanks for all the work getting the pictrures up guys. Hadoque, could we see tower out of the pack? I'm particularly interested to know if the big ugly handle can be easily removed. This tower could be used in a lot of different situations if that part is not visible, and the door could be replaced with a plain wooden one.
I think Heather is now on very firm ground creating a "Fantasy Knights" category for some of these sets. Maybe we need three streams - pre-2004, post-2004, and Fantasy.
The 5841 Romans' Camp uses an old baseplate from a Viking/Knight crossover Seper Set, so nothing new there for me The re-release of some older specials like the 5827 Roman Blister Pack is certainly going to annoy some eBay sellers and buyers, and if Playmobil are going to do this a lot may knacker the Playmobil re-traders in the long run. I'd like to get the Roman in the longer robes as a temple guard, and not at eBay prices.
The fire truck - maybe it'll grow on people, but are RED lights correct?
The 5837 "half arena" set would be useful for people like me who have one arena and want to replace some thin walls with a second gate if they haven't already done this through spares, though I see it lacks any extra seating. It may be cheaper just to get all the parts, if they have them all, as I don't need the figures or chariot now.
-
The fire truck - maybe it'll grow on people, but are RED lights correct?
Yes and No. It varies from state to state I understand. Some states have all red lights, some red and blue and I think some just blue!
Maybe Playmobil are thinking of having two product ranges - their main one and one via Target aimed more specifically at the US market.
-
Hi Martin I agree with your commentary and share your views. Actually, your suggestions for the arena helped me to see some use for it. I'm disappointed that both the two-pack with the tiger and the mini-arena come with the Ethiopian gladiator. He was hard-to-get before he came out in the Target blister pack last spring now he is--pardon my french--ubiquitous.

Every playmobil collector benefits by the ebay re-trade market getting some of its stuffing knocked out. Prices ought to come down if people speculate something might be re-released next year and maybe those ebay sharks will stop competing with us at auctions and at Target.
I'm glad to see the "classic Romans" re-released, though I would have preferred an archer and yellow-shorts-guy. I may recast the gowned-tribune into a Persian. As for temple guard... cough, cough... Martin, you ought to know better! Regular legionaires would do for that. Imperial palace guards (the praetorians) actually wore civilian tunics and togas, if Osprey is to be believed. They dressed this way I guess to downplay their presence, or maybe because people thought it looked better, like American secret service men wearing suits with ties instead of kevlar helmets and combat fatigues.
But thanks again for the helpful commentary.

LOL well I was posting at 7:30am, I wasn't fully awake. I think the gowned figure is more useful than the other, but I'll be grabbing a few of these blister packs if they appear in the UK.
The archer has only officially appeared with the 4276 ship and the 4275 siege tower so far, and orange-pants with the 4273 General's tent. It'd be nice if they'd release the pair in a blister, or maybe do a DS 3 pack of Roman Auxiliaries.
-
I don't like the new fire engine. It's just too American for me :-[ (But of course, it is only for that market).
I hope the new engines, coming next year ???, will be more like the traditional Playmobil ones.
-
Oh ya i will stock up on these
-
Tasty! Shame about the helmet on the left hand figure, but that's easily replaced. These guys are better than the current Crusader Special. I too will be adding more of these to my collection if and when I can.
I wonder if these blisters are proving more popular than the current Specials line? Two figures are better than one for play purposes, and you can see what you're getting more clearly. They're certainly releasing more and more, even if they are old figures re-issued. There are a lot of Specials I missed over the years that I'd be happy to have another chance at.

Hello
Thanks for the pics

Oh dear, oh dear :'( that 'fire truck' is awfull. Its probably the worst thing i have ever seen Playmobil produce. It looks cheap, cheerfull and appears to have very little of Playmobil's usual attention to detail. It appears to have all the charm of a cheap toy that has been cobbled together in china.
I never thought i would be saying this about a Playmobil product, i really didn't. I hope this is a one off, i really hope this is not the way forward. If this is what our new fire them is going to be like then i am really going to be dissapointed. Infact i really hope none of the 'future' Playmobil vehicles ever look like this again otherwise it will be the death of modern Playmobil for me.
I just hope and prey that it is a one off, knocked together by a lad on work experience.

Yeah, that barbute style helmet is so 14th century Italian.
But, it's good to see the figures come back.

We'll see what happens this time around, but I suspect that the blister packs will be replacing the previous Pals series. Has anyone seen any new Pals this season yet?
Also I will point out that the Pals have already been acting as a spoiler for the ebay markets - since a number of old Specials were re-released that way in the last few years.
Being an American and something of a fan of the Fire-Rescue theme I have to say that that's a pretty disappointing fire engine. Yes, it does look like some US prototypes in general shape, but it doesn't seem very well executed.
I will point out there are some cool new shield styles, and a new style of decorative shielding on the ballista and cannons. They are definitely in a Magic-Fantasy trend right now.

A member of another forum has found the new sets at WalMart.

A member of another forum has found the new sets at WalMart.
Wal-Mart in what country?
If Wal-Mart starts stocking, that's great (Wal-Mart is in walking distance of my house).
On the other hand...
If PM keeps trying to compete on price with the US market we'll be getting a lot more flimsy red dragons with hollow rocks...
-
Hi Timotheos, Wal-Mart would be nice. Knightmo and I found some at Fry's Marketplace, and the Target people said they would get them this week...
That's in the Phx, AZ. part of the world anyway.
Happy hunting,
Jimbo

The other forum member is in New England Massachusetts from what i gathered anyways . so good ol US . I tried calling my 2 local Walmarts and well the underpaid staff sure was apparent in their lack of knowing anything helpful :P
-
Well, that 5825 is it for me, after all the hunting, cajoling and special ordering to get the last 2 crusaders in any kind of quantity the possibility of them coming out in a blister pack makes me dizzy! I can quit buying those 4670's with the gold pants (thank goodness).
I found some of the larger new sets at Target today and they seem to have all the rest of their older blisters out (Mer-king/Queen, Pirates) so here's hoping!

I got carried away with my crusader rant, I purchased the new set #5841 and I like it, it passes my bang for the buck test and has several nice figures which appear to be new. I will get pictures to Heather tomorrow on the new pieces and instructions, the set was $20. They also had the set with the elves/foresters but they were a bit too bright for me.

One other target set will be the 4444 mid sized sail boat .
I went there today and all the old stuff disappeared . I asked the rep "what the heck?" I talked to him for a while and he pulled out a computer and looked them up and there were all the new ones in digital #'s . I talked him into digging through the back room and he pulled out the Roman camp. I was figuring the old stuff would be on clearance but it is just gone ( yesterday they had at least 50 sets ) AHHH i am so close to those new parts . well at least another 3666 came in the mail to tide my night over, no TV on the farm just playmobil :-[ . Macgayver I am that much closer to invading your fortress :shhhh: but it will take a little while longer :toot:
-
sounds like a shame when the set 5825 are only avaible in usa.. it would be great for us here n europe.. i would buy at least 100!
-
Mike, they probably will arrive in the UK eventually, most of last year's Target Blister packs have shown up in various brick-and-mortar stores, and eventually on the Playmobil UK website, priced around £3.50 officially but often on sale for less (thanks Gordon!) so start saving.
The one that hasn't shown up on Playmobil Uk's website is the 5816 Policeman & Robber, maybe because the Policeman is very American in looks.

Hi everyone,
I just got back from target and mine only had a few of the new sets out. I bought the 5836 Green Knight and Cannon set - it was the only one that I really liked. It's hard to tell from the front-of-the-box pictures, but the 5832 Knights (the new winged ones) have really scary eyes that I didn't like at all. Their warpaint makes it look like their eyes are bleeding . . .
Anyway, the reason that I bought the 5836 was that the horse has a saddle-mounted quiver and I have never seen this before. I am really new at this, however, so it could have been around for ages. The yellow haired klicky is pretty cool - he just has celtic-ish printing on his tunic and his legs are plain olive with brown boots. The red-haired knight, however, looks like he's wearing silver and green footie-pajamas with green y-front underwear on the outside. I dont see how you could use him for anything cool . . .
Kelly
-
You're right, the saddle with quiver is new, and I see the problem with the red-haired knight. Not an adversary you could really take seriously dressed like that. The "underpants" look as if they're there only to provide something to hang his sword from - it could have been done better.

LOL, the silver legs are supposed to represent armour of some sort, either chainmail or plate. Not too keen on the y-fronts... These pieces usually represent a loincloth for natives, or a thick waistband on Gladiators. I guess it could be removed and replaced with a regular belt.
Not only is the saddle quiver a new part to me, so is the y-fronts with an attachment for a scabbard. I generally dislike these removable scabbards, because they remove themselves all the tiem, but they do allow different attachments; you could clip a quiver on there instead.
These guys are as close to Elves as I think Playmobil are going to steer - the saddle has a very high cantle which somehow lookes Elven to me.

na, the policemen and robber i seen that.. i bought 1 for 99p and yeah, looking kinda like gay people ymca!
i had a talk to spmodels.com and the they might get those blister packs!

Hi all,
I just picked up the small sailboat, 4444, from Target today..
It is real cool! Does anyone know what kind of material the sail is made from?..I want to make a non-battle damaged one.
It looks like it may even sail..it may need a small keel for that though.
Best regards,
Jimbo

That's a great looking pirate set. I've been wondering when it would come out. How much did that one cost?
I've also wondered what type of material Playmobil fabric elements are made out of. Almost seems like some sort of thick fabric that's been starched.

Just out of curiosity - does anyone know the prices of these sets?
I am very much interested in 5830, 5831, 5832 and 5836.

I am pretty sure that each of those sets is $9.99 at Target - I saw some of them there the other night. I will be visiting another Target in the near future and this time I will bring a pen with me! ::)

That's right. All of the above-mentioned sets were $9.99. My Target also had the new pirate dinghy for $16.99, the set with the new red dragon for $19.99 and the roman arena (5837) for $39.99.

I'm not sure if anyone had mentioned it yet but set 5831 seems to have a new cape piece (at least it's new to me). There is a little knob piece on the back that a weapons clip can attach to, so you can hang axes or shields from it. I'll try to get a picture of it up tonight.
Oh and I still need to get those set instruction images for you Heather, sorry for the wait.

$16.99 is an excellent price for the 4444 set and I urge anyone with an interest in Pirates or boats to go get it immediately.

Regarding the horse/saddle mounted quiver etc. - They have introduced a new piece with this series I haven't seen before - its a small hook with a clip on it. Basically the hook fits over any of the small round pegs - such as the one on the bandolier that holds the quiver, or on belts that holds the sword scabbard piece. The clp part fits the shield handle and weapons - anything made to fit in a Klicky hand. The saddle part is the circus saddle with a new piece that clips on top of the saddle handle . The new piece has the small round pegs one on each side and one at the top. So it potentially can have 3 hook pieces holding any number of things. I hope to have some photo time tomorrow and I will take a few of the new parts and how they work. Lots of potential there I think.

The hook-clip isn't all that new, Tiermann. I've had several in Knights sets such as the 3319 Dragon knights, it's part number 30 24 7320 on Playmodb. The saddle with pegs is new though, and explains how the connections are made.

Hi everyone,
After looking at the new Playmobil City Fire Dept. engine rendering representing the USA model, I am not too sure that I am excited yet! :2c: It doesn't seem to have as much equipment or accessories as previous models :(. Also, dose the side storage compartment doors actually open, or are they just impressions? The engine seems to be a rendering of a FDNY color scheme, with the red warning lights, red body color with white & yellow striping. Can anyone tell me what the black handle function at the rear upper compartment is ???? My opinion from the pictures is that the black handle is quite ugly ! I am not sure I am willing to purchase this one yet due to it will not match any of the previous Playmobil series I have so far, & I am a little unsure if I am willing to pay for the design changes :0. Although, I am a little attracted to the uniqueness of the USA design :-[, & the new sound option to enhance the red warning lights :yippee:.
-
The black hand.le is something to do with a water pumping system. If you look closely at set 5829 in the background there is a red tank to which the hose held by the fireman on the left is attached, and in the top of the tank is another of the black handles.
Of the two fire sets, 5829 is one I'd like to get my hands on for the new water tank system, so if anyone would like to do some sort of trade or cash I'd be interested.

Hi Gordon, I'll be in the US in a week's time, and I'll try to get one for you - I'll mesage you with details.
-
I picked up set 4444 for $16.99 at Target the other day. It's a great set, especially for the price. I just wish Playmobil would stop using the colorful sails with holes in them and stick to white intact ones.
I also picked up the medieval canon set for $9.99. I'm not terribly impressed with it, but I wanted the shields and one of the klickies.
In addition to the above two sets, my Target had the dragon set for $19.99, the Barbarian Take-Along Tower with a purple Roman Scorpion for, I think, $16.99, and the Roman Arena for $39.99. The latter was priced $10 higher than I anticipated, but I suppose it's worth it. My Target had no new blister packs.
I also went to my local Toys R Us yesterday but they had no new sets.

I am glad that PM is bringing the old special / Addons again. My vote would be for a Friar Tuck and a Nun.
I also am glad to see the Roman soldier with the green shield. I use them for manning my Roman ships, but I want more.
If I could choose a 2-pack, I would like to see 2 of the Naval Guard (30 00 8960) brown hair, white pants, with tricorne hat, musket and bayonet.. I have a few but I want many more. Many, like myself, use the Naval Guard as opponents to the Red Coat soldier. I have too many Red Coats compared to the Blue Coats.
I would also like to see the Red Coat soldiers sold in blister packs. Pack #1 would be a Red coat officer (Red Coat Leader - set#7676) the other figure should be one from set 7675 Red Coat soldier. The extras should include a flag and staff and a drum (from set# 3544 Royal Guards) and drum stick. This would make him either a standard bearer or a drummer. This would be nice to have for the blue coat soldiers too. :)
Pack #2 would be the two other Red Coat soldiers from set# 7675 but without sleeve rank marking, I already have to many noncoms.
These ideas are given freely, without thought of being paid. My compansation would be just having these sets to purchase. I have many such ideas, but another time.

I would go for the monks... one black, one brown...
...and *gooosh*... they could come in a barrel instead of a blister...

. I just wish Playmobil would stop using the colorful sails with holes in them and stick to white intact ones.
Me too! :yup:
-
Donmobil has some great ideas! Below are my modified suggestions for Playmobil.
First, I would definitely buy a brown and black monk blister pack!
Second, regarding the British redcoat and French bluecoat soldiers for the pirates, I think the best thing would be to produce one blister pack with one British redcoat private (no arm chevrons, thank you, as, like Donmobil, we all have WAY too many sergeants and not enough privates!). The British redcoat could look similar to the current one except I'd give him regular black boots (not the high ones like in the current redcoats) and silver cuffs instead of the current white ones. The French bluecoat private could stay mostly as is with his red collar, epaulettes, and cuffs, but I'd give him white trousers with regular black boots, not shoes. Both privates should have brown hair in a ponytail, brown mustaches, a black tricorne hat and a musket with bayonet. I would buy dozens of these!
In addition to the above blister pack, Playmobil could add the following to their Direct Service Add-Ons. They could offer both a British Redcoat and a French Bluecoat 3-man Direct Service Add-On package. Each would consist of one corporal with a fife, one corporal with a drum, and one sergeant with a flag. Make them identical to the privates above, except give them the appropriate chevrons (silver for the British and gold for the French), eliminate their crossed shoulder belts, muskets, and bayonets, and give them a black shoulder sword belt with a silver sabre.
Finally, Direct Service could have two Add-On "leader" packages. The British redcoat officer could have the torso from 30 00 0542 (red coat with black folded back edges and gold buttons), the legs from 30 00 4162 (white trousers and high black boots with gold tassels), black cuffs, gold epaulettes, a gold shoulder sword belt, a gold sabre, a white ponytail wig, a black mustache, and a black tricorne hat with decoration and white feather. The French bluecoat officer could be identical to the British redcoat officer except with the standard French bluecoat torso and gold cuffs.
These simple blister and Add-On packs would be easy for Playmobil to produce and would be huge sellers with not only children but also the the adult crowd who collect the pirate themes and like wargaming. Add some Native Americans from the Western sets you've got an instant Seven Years War army!
I guess I'll keep dreaming.
-
Also, a 2-pack of Blue Coats just like the 30 00 8960. The first one would be the same except have the shako and chin strap from set# 5580 Soldiers on parade, perhaps a 1-pack with a horse for mounted troops.
The second Blue Coat, another 30 00 8960 but with the white clip-on front and the Bearskin hat with chin strap as in set # 5581 royal Guard.
If one was using the Blue Coats as French verses the British (the Red Coats) then these klickies would represent the Old Guard and the Young Guard or French Cavalry.
Sure would be nice, lots of klickys to buy and get lots of horses to make cavalry.
And while we are wishing, how about re-issuing the artillary guns like the ones from the Western series. I'd settle for non firing guns just to get them. And add the ammo, either the shells or the small cannon balls. Even with non firing guns, the ammo can be used as markers. Every time a gun is 'fired' a shell or ball would be removed to mark off rounds fired.
That's it for now...

Hey Gordon if Martin can't find it (Targets here are crazy inconsistent) I can grab you one.
-Tim
Hi Tim, thanks for the offer; I'll get back to you in the light of Martin's expedition. There are one or two friends I would like to send this set to.

I can't see Playmobil releasing Blister packs of figures that are already available from DS, that seems pretty pointless to me. They've messed up the Rev soldiers with too many NCOs, but it is at least possible to create a unit that way.
I also can't see a pack with two identical figures, that hasn't been the case so far and also seems pointless.
A blister of any two of the of the Nun, Priest or Monk figures would be wonderful, and I think would sell really well.
Justin, I don't think moustaches were acceptable facial hair for British Redcoats at any era - sideburns yes but not moustaches, they were reserved for NCOs and officers. The crossed white shoulder belts are what make the British Redcoats for me, I an't see why you'd want them left out?
Gepetto - I'll be sure to check Fred Meyer stores when I'm in Dallas - less than a week and I'll be there!
-
Pretty sure there aren't any Fred Meyers stores in Dallas, Martin. That's a north-western chain and there weren't any there when we lived in Dallas a couple of years ago. Target and TRU are pretty much it for Playmo unless you go to the specialty toystores. What part of Dallas are you going to? I can call around and find out if anyone has what you want. My cell phone still has a Dallas area code, so it's no problem and no long-diatance fees.

Hmm, I think you're right and there still aren't any Kelly.
However I've still got Target, TRU, ther's a super Walmart that might be in range, I'm told Steinmart sometimes carries Playmobil, and I know there's a speciality toystore in the Grapevine Mills Mall. If I can't come home with some new Playmo, then my 2 suitcases are going to be rattling.
I'll be staying at the Sheraton Grand, on West John Carpenter Freeway, just NE of DFW Airport.

The table and chest are currently available from DS, but I would love to get my hands on some of those medieval chairs!

I agree that the blister packs must have two different figures so there can be some conflict.
You're right about the mustaches on the British soldiers, Martin. That was an oversight on my part. Regarding the crossed white shoulder belts, I think they should remain on both the British and French soldiers but should be absent from the officers, obviously, and probably the NCOs.

Hey Martin,
I made some calls and your Playmobil hunt may prove to be a long one . . .
None of the toy stores in Grapevine Mills carry Playmo anymore. Two used to but no longer do, due to unpopularity (huh???). I had them both check to make sure there weren't any clearance sets lurking in the stock room to no avail.
The nearest Target to your hotel is about three miles away at 7845 N. MacArthur Blvd. They only have the older stuff and plan to reset this week - so you may be in luck there. It would be worth a trip if you are renting a car, or a call if you are travelling by cab. The number is 972-506-9924. Currently they have the old blister packs (pirates, knights, mermaid), the pirate island, and a very few other things that the guy on the phone couldn't remember. I asked specifically about the new elf knights and dragon knights and arena . . . - not yet available.
The nearest TRU is 11 miles from your hotel 3125 W. Airport Freeway in Irving 972-252-5959. They have mostly older stuff, but some cool things if you don't mind going this far (which for Dallas isn't far at all as you can travel for nearly 80 miles in one direction before you get out of the city). The salesman there reports that they have (I can get the set #s if you need them) the pirate ship with island, the racecars in red and green, the police boat, a swat helicopter chasing a jet-skier set, the dolphin superset, an airplane, a motorcross set, a shark and diver set (cool, I have this one) Pirate/Knight/Mermaid blister packs and SWAT/Fireman/Pirate carry-along cases.
There are a couple of specialty toy stores in the Dallas area that sell Playmobil, but they will only have the same stuff that you can get from DS - I don't think they ever get any exclusive to the US sets (but I'll call around if you are looking for anything special).

to justindo and donmobil:
:wow: you have my full support, of course.
:) i would just like to add another idea - blister packs with sailors, royal navy sailors like the ones you have in the 3055 / 3740 schooner.
this, by the way, would be a sign that a new royal navy (much in need) ship, a bigger one, would be on the way.
:yup: this way blisters would always be good news, antecipating the future release of a fantastic set (instead of a way of selling "been-there-done-that" figures).

Thanks for ringing for me Kelly, that was very kind of you. I'll have to go to most of these stores or Malls anyway for other people (I'm with a party of five other work colleagues on a business trip), even TRU as my wife has asked for something from there, and yes, we will have a rental car to get around.
Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll get fresh stock in before I leave. In any case, I'm now well prepared for disappointment, and I'll go to the toystore in Grapevine Mills (I think it's KB toys) and ask for Playmobil, and wave my dollars at them to show what they missed. Maybe just as well, the list had grown to over 20 sets for various people, and over €200.
What I most want right now is the Roman Blister pack - I'm sure it'll eventually hit the UK, but at a higher price.
Looks like my Christmas Trip to Houston might be more fruitful. My sister-in-law is expecting, and we're going to join her and my brother-in-law for Christmas. We'll have a lot more time for shopping too.

Well our target finally made the room for some of the new sets . I picked up the 4444 and the 5836 & 5832 . I had to open the 4444 tonight and i must say it is a beauty :inlove: . The kids will love it in the hot tub as the other pirate ships are far too big for 3 kids and 3 boats 8}. One thing i notice that i have not heard anybody mention is on the tip of the mast, it has an extension to hold the Greek looking flag. it is made out of the soft rubber . I know the rubber is in the new dragon as well and i am beginning to think this is not something playmobil intended to do on its own . I know there are many agencies eager to sue a company when a child foolishly gets impaled on a toy :0. A rubber tip & wings might be some sort of way of appeasing safety standards . :eh?:
I think the 5836 was talked about, but has anybody reviewed the 5832 ? I will open it tomorrow and can get the camera :camera: .

I just ran out to check Target for new blisters, nope. I did however pick up the 4444 and it is a beauty! The ship is larger than I expected (so I don't need as many as I thought originally) but is very well done. I am also glad that the gold coins finally have some glint to them, I used to color them with a gold or silver paint pen to get them to shine, so progress on one front at least (I think I will leave the dragon alone!).

Gepetto, Rasputin....agreed and agreed. The best word for 4444 is BEAUTIFUL. :wow:
That is one sweet little sailing ship. <:>
And on the "Dream blister-pack" tip......I want a repack of the Mandarin Prince with the Mongolian Warrior, and the Ninja with some whole new figure, and them gimme an entire Asian theme to go with it, hold the fries....hehe thanks!
Another excellent idea to occur with the US release of the Egyptian theme next year would be a repack of the Arab Warrior with the old Nile Queen. :yup: eh eh??

Funny how details are matter of taste, but I preffer the non-shiny ones ... These shiny will loose their paint, in a couple of years (all right, more than that ...). My shiny klickys & bits stuff from childhood had all of them lost their shine, when I was already a teen ...
(I think I will leave the dragon alone!).
Gepetto
So will I!
Maybe I'll get the elves, though. But maybe I won't. (Probably I won't.) There's a lot of other interesting things to get, instead.
Up till now (...) :-\
