Hello, everyone!
Since I came back into Playmobil, I think about some things concerning the consequences of getting more and more of it. I've seen some threads posted long ago, that touched a bit this matter, but not like this, so, here it is ...
WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR PLAYMOBIL?
It's very very interesting to realize that some here in Playmofriends are VERY talented in different modalities of using Playmobil to make wonderful things. I'd like this thread to be a place where we could also speak a bit of what we like most doing, so, if you mark all of the items (which is possible), try to think and share, if possible, what you like most doing.
And if you do anything different of customizing ot photographing, I'd love to know what you do! :)
So, have lets fun!

urm ... I'm afraid I voted for all. (even the extra option as I like to display them as well).
That's why it's such a great all-round toy ;D

Great minds think alike, MacGayver ;D

Voted for all as I also like to display.

Ditto except for the Kids option, as I lack that excuse.
I especially like the Halloween and Christmas themes for display, and I guess I could set up some bunnies at Easter.
Does wargaming fit into the Play category?

Does wargaming fit into the Play category?
Our daughters are now grownup, so like Martin, I now also lack that excuse ...
Since I have been known to referee or actually engage in an HG Wells wargame, I checked "other."
That's why it's such a great all-round toy ;D
I also agree with our resident "Count" ... Playmobil is so versatile that if our daughters were still young, I would have checked all five categories!

Ooops! I shouldn't have voted for the playing with the kids option as I don't have any.

Ooops, indeed, Gordon ... perhaps you were looking in the mirror when you ticked it off? Wonder if it's too late for me to grab the looking glass and check the kids option? ... :klickywink:

Thanks, Gordon! It's really something else we can do! :)

Richard is a wargamer, and he considered it as another practice, Martin. I don't do it, so I really don't know ...
ALL
I put collecting together with playing because many here began playing and, at certain point, they didn't play anymore, but still bought it ;) ...
Maybe I agree with you Richard, that wargaming is some kind of choice other than simple play. But it's discussion to be done. (There may be different opinions.)
Wargaming is different from role-playing, which might yet be another choice (?).
Playing chess ... (Now this is a kind of wargaming too, maybe: a board wargaming 8} )
About me ...
I checked collect/play, photograph (although I'm still beginning this ...) & other. (I write ... At least I wrote on playmobil characters. my first writings began with playmobil. I don't know how to put playmo in this ... Maybe the same "job" of a naked woman in front of a painter ...)

Ps.
Poll & discussions are still open! ;D

Oh, btw: we can change votes, in this poll until it ends ...

I think that most of us will end up checking all the boxes (the one about children being problematic) as the hobby grows with us and vice versa. I migrated over from a wargaming/historical point of view which was both role-playing, play and collecting, but I find that Playmobil allows me to infuse my characters with more depth than other scales allowed.
I recently purchased a small lot of klickys on EBay thinking of them as parts for the 'bins' but as soon as I saw them they all had names and personalities (and now they have their own box)! The figures seem to strike a respondent chord and allow our perceptions to grow in unintended ways, which is fine with me! I find I enjoy displaying them as much as I can, especially around the holidays but my photographs are more to record unrealized story lines and to be sure I can recreate certain customs.
