I think that both of these parts are not usually available to order separate to the figure. If there is no part number given on an instruction sheet, that is usually the case.  :(

Since you probably need a large quantity (I'm guessing ;)), you probably won't want to buy the whole figure just to obtain those pieces. That could end up being very costly indeed.

You might be better off writing directly to Playmobil and explaining which parts you require and how many of each. If you tell them a little about your project they're more likely to help you out with unusual requests like this.

Good luck! :crossed:

I think the second part might be available as it is detachable from the figure like the face mask for the firefighters.  It is, I think, a variation on the original yellow face mask for the firefighters and so this could form a basis for a custom version if the actual mask is not available.  The part number for the firefighter face mask I am thinking of is 30 02 4080 and should be available as it was reissued with the DS 7786 fire engine.

That was quick.  How long was it between ordering and them arriving?

cheng has no access to Playmobil DS as he is in the Far East.  And those and similar parts are not available separately through DS.

If you go here:

http://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showpart.pl?partnum=30-00-7290

you will see a similar figure with the shoulder piece and there is only one part number given, for the whole figure.

If you go here:

http://www.playmodb.org/playmodb.shtml

and search on the word policeman, it will bring up a number of figures with the shoulder pieces and for each of them there is just a single part number for the whole figure.

well, does hairs have numbers with the figures? i dont think so, but they have seperate numbers!

i seen them somewhere. i cant belive when its a part u can actually take off has no seperate number? i guess it will be a pain to find it out..

You can only take these parts off by disassembling the figure, so they are unlikely to get lost and need replacing through the DS spares service.  In this way, they are just the same as, for example, arms or heads and there are no part numbers for those either.

Also, the figures are assembled by machine, another reason why it is unlikely that these parts will be available separately.

The best thing to do if you want parts like this is to follow Sylvia's advice in her earlier post.

It would be really nice if hair could be ordered separately, wouldn't it?

It does come off very easily, and you'll see figures on eBay missing their hair, presumably removed by children, never to be complete figures again.

More usefully, it would make customising groups much easier - no doubt mike1003's plan is to swap hair around on his army figures.

I thought he was still referring to the epaulettes.  For a very short time the DS catalogue did have a selection of hair you could buy.

I tried to get the 5801 SWAT team face masks from USA Playmbil DS. They told me that they were unavailable for field replacement, & I would be required to order the complete figures at approximately $2.75 each back then >:(. They are the same as the face masks that came on the Dark Invader 3092 before they became discontinued. The invader face masks came in yellow & red, not black, & did not have a part number either. For hair replacement sets you may want to check out these sellers on Ebay, Dode'npentoybox, & Halabek, both from Malta, or use eBay's search ... Playmobil hair ;D.

Thanks Gordon (and especially Socrates), that's a really useful list.

I'd never have realised that hair could be ordered separately - definitely getting a few of each style/colour in my next DS order.

I think that socrates discovered most of those part numbers by accident, so we are very lucky to have them at all. :)

Just noticed that the "wig number" topic is located in Collector's Corner. I will move it to the part number board (http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?board=22.0) so that anyone searching for it by specific boards can find the information more easily.

It would never have occured to me to search for "wig", as in most cases these parts represent hair, not a wig. Only for the white ponytail is it obviously supposed to be a wig.

Plus "wig" is too short to search for something on Playmodb.

I thought about that too so I added the word "hair" to the title of the topic when I moved it. :)

Remember, for the writer of the thread English is possibly a second language, or even a third one.  The German for wig is Perücke, a word we also have in English for a style of wig.  I have also come across similar uses elsewhere of "wig" for "hair" by German speakers.

I searched on "wigs".  If it's too short to search on, add an "s" if it's a noun is my policy. ;D

Hi Sylvia!
This is not quite true... Actually, it wasn't me who found the first numbers, I do not even know, who did... Once we had some, we continuosly tried to order the known wigs but with the note to have them in different colors... Several times this worked quite well, but - on the backside - the hard way is to get the number of a new wig type in the first place...  :-\

I am very thankful that playmo so far is tolerating the order of wigs by collectors. They do us a great favour, but we should be aware that they do not "officially" support this kind of order.

Without becoming indiscrete, I _really_ tried hard to get a complete list of wigs from DS, but up to now they successfully prevented me getting my hands on them...
...but - once - I was SOOO close...  :P

Still, whenever someone is getting hold of a new number that is not enlisted here...
...PLEAAASE POST IT!  :yup:  ;D

(the same of course for a wig color not listed here)

thanks, Gordon...  ;D  I think you are quite right, it was originally Luis who started a topic at playmoboard about "wigs"...
@Martin:  ...well, I think, they are more "wigs" than "hairs", as you can simply exchange them... ...and things like a camail are not really "hairs", are they?  :hmm:  ;D

best,
socrates

I've had much trouble trying to figure out how to add wigs to PlaymoDB, and except for the few like the ones that come with the hairstylist, I've left them out, despite Socrates' helpfulness in bringing them to light.  They're never numbered on instructions, and often tricky to identify, either because the figure's only shown wearing a hat or helmet, or in a front view where I can't tell what style of ponytail the figure is wearing.  (And occasionally drawn incorrectly on the plans!) They shouldn't add to the total piece-count of a set, but they would if they were numbered separately.  Argh!

A separate page with the wig numbers and links into Who's That Klicky to show what figures wear them, for example, wouldn't be too hard (someone else could do it, with a little HTML - go for it!) but linking back to a number once you've found a Klicky with a wig you want, is another thing.  Still, I'll put it on my whiteboard under "future enhancements".  Ideas welcome.

It'd be great to have a webpage with a matrix showing all the different hair or wig styles, with a picture/ plan clip and the part number where known.

I'm thinking colours across the top (because there won't be all that many) and style/name down the side.

A bonus would be to add beards and other facial wear (earrings, facemasks etc.) even though we don't know any of their numbers.

btw, the hair style used on the clowns (in red) and some natives I always took to represent dreadlocks.

yes i did.. i allready made a big deal with the malta guy dod.. its a nice guy.. but i think its cheaper to buy staright wigs from ds.. as i guess u would get there easy 10 -12 for 2 quid.. but not sure.. halabek is really expensive.. in most thingies.. he is a nice guy too.. bought some stuff from him aswell but overall it would cost me more when i buy the quantities i need from him as from ds.. as ds sell for example 3 footsoldiers for 6 he for 6.99 plus postage..  u get free postage on ds when u order 45 quid or so..

i really would to know what wigs are costing, as iam need around 100 blond ones :p
