Title: NEW WATER BI-PLANE
Post by: Richard on May 12, 2008, 02:24:16

There's a new float plane flying over the Caribbean!

The first photo shows a smooth afternoon take-off from the swimming pool.

And, the second photo shows the little sea plane just clearing the trees as it heads south.

Hopefully, it will return ... ;)

Hi Richard,

That is AWESOME! :wow:
Very well done.  I am sure it will return back to that
inviting pool!

Thanks for posting the pictures, it got my Monday off to a
great start.

Happy landings,
Jimbo

Thank you both for your nice comments.

Jimbo, I thought that he would come right back, but he hasn't. And, now that Bogro has mentioned the angry catamaran sailor, I'm not sure that he will be coming back ... ;)

I'm going to call some folks on the island of St. Croix and ask if anyone has seen a little green and white bi-plane with floats. (The island of St. Croix lies about forty miles due south of St. Thomas.) However, I'm not very hopeful because that's a very long flight for a little Playmobil sea plane to make.

I'll let y'all know if anyone sees the green and white float plane.

All the best,
Richard

Hello, Gepetto ...

Is that Porco Verde??  Very nice Richard, thank you!

Porco Verde? Would that be the brother of Porco Rosso? ...

Believe it or not, but the little green and white float plane "buzzed" us late this afternoon and then headed Southeast toward Frenchman's Reef. (It was almost as if he was looking for the sailor that Bogro was concerned about.)

I wonder what's going to happen next?

Stay tuned ...

All the best,
Richard

That's a very nice custom, Richard, and great photos.  Look forward to seeing more of the little float plane's adventures.

Excellent photos! 8-)

I didn't click that the aircraft had been customized until Bogro mentioned the catamaran.
It was only then that I noticed the rubber bands holding the floats. Very clever! :)

Thank you Gordon and Sylvia for your very generous compliments ...

Is it only "eagle-eyed" Sylvia who saw the rubber bands? (However, they ARE Playmobil rubber bands.) ... :)

This is actually a very simple, non-permanent conversion. Keep your Playmobil rubber bands. They can be quite useful!

All the best,
Richard

Hi Richard

Give us a naval battle in your pool.  I'm betting you have a small fleet.

After rainstorms here, the baseball diamond in the schoolyard behind my house floods, and that is the closest thing I have to a pool that isn't a public lake patrolled by nosy police.

Great pictures,

& wonderful plane ;D

I had one red, and a yellow one ... Never had the green. I miss them, in Collectobil, as well as the old helicopter, and even the yellow airplane of the Antartic collection, and another blue commercial one of the same kind, that came out in the same period ...

Do you have ANY of your planes? Or, are they ALL gone?

All the best,
Richard

They're gone ... :'(

Actually, it was before youth ... As we moved to Portugal, I had to leave most of my Brasillian Troll Playmobil behind, and I gave most of the really old ones, then. (I think I didn't ever expect to fall in love for Playmobil, as it happened when I got in Europe ... And all the situation of moving there was very sudden, too. Even so, I'd never expect to become a Playmofriend one day ... There wasn't even internet!)

I don't consider myself a collector ... My hobby is more toward playing :yup: (& writing ;) ), and, in the future, I hope :), photographing, than collecting.

Anyway, the planes wouldn't have survived my youth, when I gave them all.

But you're talking about the older ones, right? ... (Cause I had a yellow Antartic one / Or, well, I don't know if I really had one, or if I was about to get one ... I think I'll be only able to remember when I take a good look at the picture: I'm not sure of what I had, but I'm definitely sure of what I didn't ever have, and by taking a look, I can say. For example, I know I never had 3464 (http://www.collectobil.com/images/items/3464.jpg), cause I thought about buying it, because of the green explorer figure; it's like recognizing the borders of my European Playmo collection ... -- I can't say everything I had from Troll, because it was a lot, from age of 3, but mainly 5 and 6, up to 13, when I moved to Portugal, with parents.)

My toy trains and metal toy soldiers are all gone too ...  :(

However, when I started collecting Playmobil, I collected it with our two young daughters. So, I was old enough to be able to keep it all ... :)
(Even the boxes) ...  ;D

(I remember I actually had the Antartic collection plane: I remember the luggage compartment ;D Funny to bring these memories back ... I wish I could, at least, have spared the boxes, so as to give pictuores to be put in Collectobil. / There's a lot of things from the old Western collection that I also miss there. As well as one and another pirate, that I happened to check up in the "complete pictures" displayed in Garden Wargaming.)

It's funny ... Even though I don't have them anymore, it's great to see them, and simply remember.
