:o i just found on ebay that a new pirate set was released on the u.s..
just as it was in the case of the 4219-pirates-box-carry-case, new sets from the u.s. seem to make their debuts on ebay. ???
i want to have one, of course, although there's nothing really new on it...

captain henry already found them in an ordinary store:

...but I do agree in the sense that playmobil is not really promoting the blister sets, which is kind of weird, as the sets are really nice and available at a fair price... :hmm:
btw, the left pirate is my favorite playmo pirate...

I love him too! He has a very rakish air about him. ;D
I think he was one of the first bare-armed klickies. His body parts came in very handy for customising. 8-)

8} ... he is the third twin brother sylvia.
the first one had a short life - he was born in 2000 and died at the age of 2 in 2002. he was named 4581 and he was special.
the second one, 4917 was his name, even had a shorter existence - a few months around the 2006 easter separating his birth from his death.
tragic.
and now we have a new born, the 5819.
a rakish air they may have sylvia, but they tend to die young.
a pirate's life is a very cruel one. :'(
-
::) ... by the way, his friend seems to have escaped from the bow of the 4424/5736 blackbeard's ship.
;) if you are looking for a daring guy who likes to dangle himself at the end of a rope nerverminding a sea infested with sharks, this might be a good choice for you sylvia.
 he has been around since 2004 displaying great survival skills in the playmo-world.

He is even around since 2000 as this klicky has been just as well in the 3938 lagoon set.

Interesting to read the secret histories of these figures; thanks Cachalote and Socrates.
-
:o you are right socrates, he is even older (maybe that made him change caps meanwhile). he is now 8.
??? could it be that, as it happens with dogs, 1 year in playmo-life equals 6 years in human-life.
;) this pirate would be a veteran, being 48 years old...

Hi Cachalote, yeah, don't buy it off ebay. If you just want only one, send me a PM with your address and I'll mail one out sometime this month.
But, if you want 40, don't look at me!

you are most kind tim. :wow:
my brother in law is studying in san diego and is visitng us in the end of this month.
i have asked him to bring a lot of new sets (this one included).
as he is the most clumsy guy i know, i am not sure if he will be able to get all of them. ::)
if he doesn't manage to bring this set with him, i will surely ask you to buy me one.
meanwhile, if you are in need of some european set, just let me know (a few of them are on sale in portugal).
thanks again. :)

:) i just found another blister with pirates on ebay - the 5826.
:'( again, nothing seems new...

I think these blister packs are giving people a great opportunity to acquire figures they might have previously missed, so even if we collectors already have the figures, they'll be snapped up. Pirates are one of the best themes to do customs for within the theme too. It's annoying if you've picked up the older figures at an exorbitant price, but at least they're available again in large numbers.
How about a blister pack of the 3631 wandering Monk & the Priest from the 3827 Merry Men's Feast? I'd buy a couple of dozen.
I saw the original 5814 Pirate blister packs in a display stand on Saturday here in the UK, didn't buy any because I already had several, but I noticed the "wrong" sword was even used in the display artwork.
On a slight tangent, something I noticed this weekend about the skull in the 4581 Special, while continuing my tidying and filing away of parts.
It's not a human skull...
-
:hmm: of course it´s not human martin.
:yup: it's a playmo-skull.
;) if you are interested in playmo-anatomy, you can see below a playmo-brain.

Hey actually I like that pirate blister pack better than last spring's set.
The pirate on the right with the sash and black hair can easily double as a middle eastern sailor. The left hand guy at least has useful hair and legs.
