Title: Hello from Pa!
Post by: TrickroperDeluxe on February 27, 2008, 16:37:10
Hello all ,

My name is Andrew an im from a little town in Pennsylvania. Im a horsemem by trade , I also work part time at a bar 6 days a week.
Im pretty new to collecting playmobil an I don't have anything vintage yet haha
Right now all I have is a nanny goat an her two kids , a black dog an the herder that came with. I also purchased the hedgehog family set because I liked it haha =)
I have a few other random pieces an sets that are packed away , deer family , newer cow family ,and a woodland set.

My main interest in playmobil is collecting certain pieces that will make me happy haha
Im mainly interested in collecting the longhorn cattle , any of the goats an a few buildings.

Im an open book willing to answer any questions about myself an of course to talk about playmobil!!
=)

Hello Andrew and welcome,

I think the idea of collecting what makes you happy is an admirable one, klickys are what the Playmobil figures are called.  I am sure as you spend time here you will wonder how you managed to get along all this time without some of these sets!  Those old catalogue photos are killing me!!

Welcome, Andrew!

It's very nice to meet you. Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself. :)

Have fun collecting and being a member of PlaymoFriends! :)9

Btw, I read "Pa" as father instead of the abbreviation for Pennsylvania when I first saw this topic. ;D

Me too, I had previously understood that the State codes were two capitals e.g. PA

btw, not sure about horse turds, but you get cowpats or cow chips in some of the Farm sets. Now that's quite an endearing detail to include in a set!

Part number 30 22 3750, ice cream scoops in a pile, dark brown, appears in set 3244, ice cream seller, and sets 3120 (horse and pony ranch) and 4190 (pony farm).  Neither 3120 nor 4190 have any facilities for selling ice cream!    ;D

The current theme I have going is a little herder boy that tends to his herd.
Im currently bidding on a Donkey so he'll have a mode of transportation haha

I think that will be a nice little custom set when you have it complete.  Hope you'll show us it.

Hello, Andrew ...

A big welcome from the warm and sunny United States Virgin Islands!

I have Googled the internet and cannot find out what a "horsemem" does.

Could you please tell us what a "horsemem" is?

Is it something that people only do in Pennsylvania ... ;)

All the best,
Richard

I ride an train horses for the public , Im not partial to the term cowboy even though i've rodeo'd because it usually has a preconceived notion that comes along with it.
I prefer horseman because its a term that brings thought with it , its not somthing most folks say or even think about so theres no stereotypes.
Its definetly not just a PA thing , its an anyone who works with horses in a kind an knowing manner.
