I hope you can help me out here. I think that there's something wrong with the Lord. What?
-
Funny idea!
I really like those, Bogro. 8-)
Is that the head from the Ice Spirit special?
It goes well with the skeletal parts. :)
-
Actually, it is the head of the ghost-special:

But to us, they all look alike
But really, somehow I have the feeling the Lord doesn't fit in with the rest ...

Great idea!!!
This makes the ghost much more 'special' i think i will go for it too.
I don't see anything wrong with the lord in gold, although i must admit i find the silver bandmembers more appealing.

Ahh... I never bought that set, so I didn't pay much attention to it. :-[

Aside from the different coloured armour and style of breastplate, he looks the same as the others to me. :eh?:
Hmmm... He's wearing a ball and chain too. Maybe he isn't supposed to have one because he's the lord? :-\

I agree, Rob!
Great customs, Bogro!
When I first saw the "subject" I didn't think that I would like them.
I am very happy that I looked, because there really are cool!
All the best,
Richard

I think it's because the silver-armoured guys look cold, dead, slightly ethereal and scary, but the gold looks a bit too warm and friendly.
If there was a silver crown he might do better in all silver, or making him all silver except the gold crown might look good. Really neat customs, a great idea and I wish I'd done it first!
I wouldn't want to meet any of them wandering the battlements while I was on sentry duty!
The Tower of London is one of the most haunted buildings in the world. Well, it's stood there over 900 years, and a lot of nasty events have occurred inside, and there have been many prisoners with plenty of time to contemplate their impending torture and death. These guys would fit right in!

These are really nice!

Great figures
I agree about the gold, I think that's where the trouble is. Do you have one of the old chrome crowns? That would be ideal along with black armor instead of the gold.

Hello again, Bogro ...
I think it's because the silver-armoured guys look cold, dead, slightly ethereal and scary, but the gold looks a bit too warm and friendly.
After Martin and Tiermann posted their replies, it became quite obvious, IMO, that the silver armor really fits the best with a "skeleton" army.
Thanks again for sharing these really cool customs that you created.
All the best,
Richard

The skellybones on the left has his helmet tilted at a rather rakish angle, maybe he was a bit of a dandy in his former life. ;D
It's amazing how you can suggest a look or quirk of character by such a minor adjustment. My tilty-helmet klickies are the jokers of the garrison.
The early Playmos had a notch in the hair at the back, and a locating lug inside the hat, so you couldn't do this. It was extremely annoying (I recall, this is going back to my very earliest days of Playmobil), because with cowboy hats especially (I had Western as my firt theme) there was not obvious front or back, and it was easy to damage the hair trying to force the hat on back-to-front.

From what I've been told, even Hans Beck isn't sure why they ever created the "notch" ... 8}
Thanks for the little trip down "memory lane" ... :)
All the best,

mmm - so I should try with less gold and more silvery stuff ... Lets try and get the necessary parts together. I've got a few other ideas as well (thanks to Tiermann) ...
To be continued ...

Well, here's the improved version. I decided to seperate the Lord from the others and slide in a fourth member that's only slightly different. So here is the "new" Band of Skeletons:
-
And here's the new "improved" Skeleton King:
-
and just for the fun of it ... here they are all again  ;D
Any comments?

I like the shot without the king the best. I really like photos that look black and white but are actually color
-
The King and the others will be used seperately. I will have to take the pictures again - but then with a "removable" background so that I can photo-shop a bit. The Band will be used for "Band of Skeletons" (in the original "Band of Zombies") and the King will be used for the Character "Skeleton Lord" (originally that was the "Ghoul").
