Title: hi everyone from san francisco
Post by: kaethe on January 27, 2008, 22:39:12
before i introduce myself i want to say thank you so much to all of you long-time posters, it has been so much fun reading all of your info, and seeing all of your creations.  mind-boggling, jaw-dropping, everything.  thank you also for all of the how-to info.

i am new to serious collecting, although not to mom-collecting.  i bought bits and pieces of playmobil for my kids in the 70s and the 80s as well as a few things for myself, but never any of the big sets, because they were "too expensive".  so now i am buying them at higher prices !  i am a nurse (30+ years) i have always collected all sorts of nursing type toys, with the exception of anything (ugh) barbie, so i have quite a bit of the old medical sets.  i can hardly wait for the add-on floors for the hospital to be released in the usa, as i have plans to build a multi-story medical center with a floor dedicated to surgery (where i currently work), pediatrics, orthopedics, er, icu, and of course a coffee shop on the first floor, flower shop, and lots of vending machines in the basement for the residents late at night.  are there any other medical collectors out there?

i also have quite a bit of the victorian series, and most of the bicycling/hiking pieces, although i am looking for the tour de france series.

so one more big thank you to this forum, and when i get the hospital additions i will post some photos.  like everyone else, i am amazed by the accuracy and detail of the new sets, the hospital set has great new accessories, especially in surgery/er

Welcome from Scotland! :*)

Thanks for introducing yourself! It's really nice to hear about your interests and how you got started collecting. :)

Your plans to build a medical centre sound exciting - looking forward to seeing the photos when it's completed.

I'm glad you've enjoyed looking around PlaymoFriends and I'm sure you will continue to find it interesting and inspirational. 8-)
