Thought I'd start by introducing myself, although quite a few of you know me already.
I'm 61, retired and started collecting Playmobil in 1996 when the new fire line came up (3880,3879,3881 etc). It's expanded to include police and ambulance and supporting sets for detailing, e.g. city life, and also (somehow) pirates!
Currently, I'm customising some fire engines and hope to post some pics soon.
I'll also be sorting through my Playmobil for a bits and pieces clearout.

Hi David, I didn't recognise you!
I hope to post some fire engine pics soon (are you thinking of beating me to it?). It's standing on the kitchen table in mockup form with the crew clustered round admiring it. It justs needs a bit of painting and glueing.
-
Thank you to everyone who's welcomed me here. What with changed names, change avatarsans sometimes both, I've not worked out who I know and who I don't, but time will deal wih that.
Looking forward to contributing to the board in any useful way I can.

I´m de warrens Italian relative now ;)
Fire engines are you your department Gordon. Although I´ve got a few fire dept. sets I´ll leave the customising to your expertise.
Working in the kitchen can be difficult. The family likes to eat, that´s why I was banned to the cellar.
We look forward to seeing your customs Gordon.

HI Gordon! Welcome!
Soon we will need a chart to keep track of all of our different identities! You are being very helpful by keeping a familiar moniker.
If anyone might beat you to the post with a firetruck photo, I think it might be good ole Tim_w. ;)
-
I think Tim_w has a major project in hand which is keeping him busy. ;D

You may remember me Gordon...in a past life I was a purple Sugar Plum Fairy...but my wings grew tired and I was lured to the mystery of Fortune Telling and Mythology (Psyche is from the Greek Myths). Wait! I feel a vision coming on! Yes, I see stunning customized Firetrucks gracing the pages of PlaymoFriends! :D

This vision wasn't influenced by a few posts back in any way? :)

Kind Sir! Are your questioning the authenticity of my gift??? ;)
Just between you and me...If so, you are wise. But don't tell. :-X
-
Yes my hands are tied at the moment  I am hopefully going to sort some pictures out today :)
Regards Tim :)9

Gordon,
I am so glad you joined us.
I have missed you wise words, and wit.
We know our klickies will be safe with both you and Tim around to help us with fire, search and rescue, and other life saving city services.
I am happy to see you,

Thanks for the kind words, Meg :-[ :-[
I'll try to live up to them.

Hi Gordon,
Now that I have introduced my self, it's nice to see that you are visiting here too.
Garry.

Hi Richard,, nice to see you here!
Hello, Gordon ...
Great to see you here as well! Looking forward to visiting with you often here at Playmofriends.
All the best,
Richard

Welcome Gordon!
I've always been impressed by your knowledge on fire engines. :) What's your opinion of the Hook and Ladder Fire Engine 3781? I've been tempted by that one on eBay lately. Some MISB ones go for pretty reasonable prices.
-
Looking forward to seeing you here, too, Richard. I must renew my acquaintance with GW; I haven't had time to visit there for sometime.
Hi, Robbie. Thanks for the welcome; it's good to meet up with you again. The answer to your question is "Buy one!" I'd say it's equal best Playmobil fire engine with the 3880. The 1970s livery of dayglo orange and white is exceptionally striking. I've updated one and it's a first line appliance, with the 3879 ladder truck relegated to reserve.
-
Which leads us to the ultimate question: If you could only own one fire engine Gordon :o ...which would it be? (I'm looking to buy but can only get one...so I thought I'd ask the expert.) :)
-
I'll have to think about that one and ge back to you. :eh?:

I'll have to think about that one and ge back to you. :eh?:
No rush. I thought that might be a tough question. Keep in mind I would like a good "general" engine and I tend to prefer the vintage sets (but certainly not exclusively.) Your help is appreciated.

Good to see you here, Gordon! I have missed you, my friend!
With all the old faces around here it feels less like a new board and more like a reunion of old friends, with the added bonus of having new friends joining as well - an excellent mix!

As you say, Cap'n, it's very much a reunion of old friends, wit new friends added.
It's good to see you indeed! :)
