Speedo body or something else?
Also the grainy legs means a new leg scupt I assume.

Why?
Basically, my response to almost every decision they seem to make the last decade.
-
sigh ... they seem to be missing the mark more and more :wall:

The collaboration could open interesting possibilities, like Masters of the Universe or even Big Jim which would be fantastic at the Playmobil scale. I'm sure that anyone working at either companies forgot about that line. We're more likely will get Playmobil sized Hot Wheels before that.

And what about Ken
Is there also going to be Barbie in every conceivable fashion/career costume ?
And the mansion , cars, planes and trains
Yes we need a Barbie train

As the EU has gained more control over Europeans' lives over the past 25 years, each EU country has seen its core identity watered down to pave the way for a controlled, corporate, pan-European identity -- and no one has been a bigger proponent of this than Germany.
A result of this is those companies most affiliated with each country's core values have become weaker and corrupted. To me it is no surpise that as Germany has lost its way, so has PM. It is only natural.

Well, basically the same we have been getting for ages, but now with the Barbie logo. Nothing special about it...
The bodies seem all to be the stupid kind (kinda fit for barbie - it always put me off because of the lack of articulation and pointless ridiculous stupid "feet").
That said.. I LOVE the roller skates!! Of course, they probably mold it on the stupid legs to make it useless. If done properly, it would fit any slots on the feet, and we could make a proper hockey team... And that would be AWESOME.
I also don't much understand the point - Barbie is a 12" doll, to play house and dress up, right? So... what does that have to do with playmobil?!

And as Playmobil slipped quietly under the waves of indifference never to reappear.

I’m a bit surprised nobody is talking about how this smells like Playmobil will be taken over by Mattel one day. I can definitely see it happen, unless a miracle happens… I can imagine Mattel would love to own the once big concurrent of Lego. It makes sense. Not sure what to expect though, but if it involves some Playmobil sets in “normal” colours, I would give it a chance! Anyway, I’m already at the point that the glory years are far behind us and my wallet is actually very happy about that at the moment, I just buy parts lately and some figures. Which is all I need right now, because I own all the sets that I always wanted to have at this point.

Sorry, but this is nonsense. I agree there is a lot of cultural levelling – Europe and the world at large are getting starbucksed – but that is an unavoidable consequence of ever closer economic integration, which is by itself a good thing and the main benefit achieved under EU rules. The problem of the EU is that, on the one hand, it is too overbearing (issuing too many complicated rules) but on the other too weak (in the end the states still decide). On balance it hasn't been bad, and should not be blamed for Playmobil's demise, which is really entirely homemade.
I cannot see Barbie in Playmobil form. As was pointed out in the German forum, what is the point of a miniature Barbie doll if you cannot comb their hair?
-
I expect that these sets will likely end up taking the place of some of the sets in a few of the modern themes. Hopefully that trend will not continue though. Not many classic themes remain.
The Monster High sets might have some interesting pieces though.

There are the Horses of Waterfall you can comb the hair so I wouldn't be surprised if some playmobil troll doll appeared in future.
Not everything Barbie has to be like the doll, there are movies for instance and you can't comb the tv - well not if you're sane anyway.

They're going to use one toy to represent another toy and lose the unique attributes of both?

Like the "my little pony" - if people want my little pony, they buy my little pony. I completely agree.
They should be playmobil. Which is basically the best to be. Or at least it was. :'(

An extremely weird decision (and I'm fairly generous about giving the benefit of the doubt).
I assume it will basically be a re-hash of the beach theme with some Barbie Logos stuck on the figures (of course, the beach theme has literally had a re-fresh last month...).
The only real overlap is that children do play with Playmobil and Barbies in very similar ways, but I'm not sure that's enough to make this make sense.
-
They need to give Barbie a laser rocket launcher.
-
Barbie has it's own toy, it just makes zero sense. Just seems like they will just release the same old pink girly sets they have for over two decades now, only more expensive due to the Barbie license most likely.
It's just another sign that makes it clear they really don't know what they are doing at Playmobil, and that the company seems done for. Just another bad decision in a very long line of them.

That sums it up
They need to give Barbie a laser rocket launcher.
A pink launcher with purple missiles
Came to see the toy, stayed for the comments

Getting GI Joe flashbacks.

I would be interested in a MOTU line if they ever do it.
