Hi Everybody,
My name is Fenna and I am a Playmobil fan from the Netherlands. I am currently writing my master thesis on historical Playmobil sets. For this research I am looking for PDF files of the Playmobil catalogus from 1974-2024. I know that these were once uploaded to the German Playmobil website, so I am hoping somebody downloaded then and can share them with me. This would be super helpful for my thesis!
The language of the catalogus does not matter, any catologue can help me! Also if anybody is interested in the research feel free to message me.

Ha, writing a thesis on historical Playmobil sets, the dream  What field of research are you in?
I don't have any catalogues but I'd looove to hear more/read your thesis once it's done (I'm Flemish).

Helo Fenna and welcome to Playmofriends from me in Stroud, England.
I am sure we will be able to help you with your thesis!
Scans of all German DS catalogues are here (https://klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=50705) and a catalogue of the contents of most of them here (https://www.playmofanatic.org/contents-of-all-ds-catalogues-1983-to-2016/).
I don't have any links for scans of main catalogues. I do have actual German catalogues from 1995 on and UK catalogues from 1981-2 on. But I think scanning those would be very time-consuming, so hopefully you will find someone else has already done it.
Amclicks (Spanish) and Klickywelt (German) are two playmobil forums with far more active members than Playmofriends so it might be worth posting requests there.
Please feel free to make use of anything on my website which you find useful.

For what it's worth, if you have deep pockets, many (most?) of the catalogues can be bought on Ebay.
There is also an actual book, that might help: Playmobil Collector, 3rd edition (1974-2009), written by Axel Hennel and published in 2010 by Fantasia Verlag, which goes for $35 on the US Amazon.

I assume you have found a copy of the Playmobil, The Story of a Smile by Felicitas Bachmann published in Germany in 2006. There is a lot of peeking into the history of the early development of the Playmobil system, as well as a glimpse into the early production facilities. It is a hardcover book with beautiful color photographs of the earlier vignettes, that later became part of the box art.

That cover image nicely captures the three main eras of PM. There's a fourth one of course, the one we're in now.
