I saw the below article and can't keep wondering what are they trying to do? This looks like a copy-cat of Hot Wheels with klickies instead of cars!

There is this article too - in english...

As we say here, they discovered the powder... after the war.
Well.. these "sky trails" WAS a surprise. Not a good one. If someone wants a freaking marble run, get a marble run. One that doesn't look put together with tubes scrapped from an old construction site...
Maybe it's not the final look?
(...) a unique play system with endless possibilities (...)
... You mean like.. I don't know... steck? Or system X?
With Playmobil, children become directors and actors of their own stories (...)
Like it was before? Before all the named klickys and predefined stories, and licenses?
Children and adults alike can design and build the most exciting courses right across the children's room, send figures through the air (...)
I am sure at least parents will be delighted in having to hunt klickys all over...
(...) there are new cars in trendy mini format (...)
These are beyond words. The klickys are pretty.
There are loads of nice things coming though... My wallet is not happy (as usual)

I’m sure the parents will just love that ball scatter thing at the end…..forever picking them out the hoover! Or maybe it’s a ploy to forever have parents buying spare balls?

Excuse me, Playmobil, now you've made a CONSTRUCTION TOY?? :(o):

The sky trails concept looks fun, but it's huge. That is a lot of space to take up for a toy. I love the amusement park carnival theme and it can fit in there. We have been asking for a roller-coaster for years. The one in the Dinos theme took up way too much space as it was and this going will be even bigger. They have to make it cheap though. If it costs hundreds for a full series of sets it's dead already.
Here is an interview in German showing all the themes at Toyfair https://youtube.com/watch?v=u18_p96-cLk&si=GjX9e0e7RlTFITBP (https://youtube.com/watch?v=u18_p96-cLk&si=GjX9e0e7RlTFITBP)

Well the prices of Sky Trails have been posted, a full series of sets so you have at least one each of the options is over 200€
Basic starter set is 80€. I suppose if you can afford a house big enough to have that kind of toy then it might be an option. I don't see it being a raging success in that price range with the current economy.
Geobra has been around longer than the Playmobil toy line. It makes sense for them to try new tangents. Their plastics division's first big success was getting the German production license for the hula hoop. I don't see this being as popular.

Not at all, please reference the set where a dinosaur smashes down bricks with little bumps on them to show how pathetic this form of construction is.
As for the figures soaring across the room, you can actually do that with twine. This and the beach theme just seem pointless. A builing like the ghostbusters one but as a regular apartment block would be useful. Give it some points around the walls to attatch fire to and you have something for the fire engines to actually deal with. Or police have to rescue people, or thieves have to get to the safe on the top floor. Far more useful than a beach blanket and umbrella or some tubes that wont be near enough to be really interesting. Actually instead of the flying fox or whatever it is they could have done a huge water slide theme. Build your own mega slide and have the klickies end up in an actual pool of water, the bath or just the carpet. At least the old hot wheels type tracks had loops in them for the cars to go upside down as they raced along. Set up some rings at the end of the slide and try to get the klickies to fly through them.

I think this is the problem that it's going to face, rather than anything from the playing side

The Sky-Trails concept really reminds me of K’nex brand. K’nex had sections that were flexible for building rollercoasters.
I’m wondering if from all the years of Collectors begging for the re-release of the Japanese Playmobil roller coaster or a newly designed set, that this is what the R&D department came up with ?
Great concept direction, but in my opinion they missed the mark by a mile
The Dino track sure showed that they were thinking , but……..

Wow. Never thought I would witness the downward spiral of such a stable iconic brand I have used for modeling my modern city for over the last 30 years let alone such an iconic toy line that I never owned until my late teens. So tragic! I’ve been holding out hope the last 2-5 years and it just gets worse and worse…..terrible. This is the mirror image of Lego in the late 90’s. Except they are closer to the point of no return.

RIP, Sky Trails.
And I am shutting up. :-X

I have a nearly 4-y-o boy and a 9-y-o girl and I'm a huge Playmobil fan, but I can't see myself buying that Sky Trail.
I do like the hot air balloon and the ice cream truck.

This is exactly my take on it :(

The Sky Trail is the sort of toy that's cool to watch on display, but you dread the grandparents buying for your kids. It's massive, goes with nothing else, and looks like it was built from PVC pipes. And it feels a bit tone-deaf, as young families are living in small homes due to ever increasing housing costs.
