Thanks to JLMatterer for alerting me to these new offerings, exclusive sets available in Starbucks stores in South Korea. There are 8 sets each containing a single named figure with some accessories under the banner 'Meet the Buddy Moments,' a set of furniture similar to the set 70617 issued in 2022, a Starbucks store set and a Starbucks Coffee Truck set. The Starbucks name and logo are freatured on many of the parts.
Here is a list, with release dates:
71779 Kim; male figure with toolbox to carry coffees, umbrella (7 October 2024)
71780 Bella, female figure with picnic and selfie stick (14 October 2024)
71781 Peter, male figure with skateboard, sack, satchel and newspaper (21 October 2024)
71782 Nina, female figure with binoculars and bear-ears/Ewok hat (21 October 2024)
71783 Mary, female with dog and bench (7 October 2024)
71784 Jinny, female barista with tray and coffee machine (27 September 2024)
71785 Ricky, male with spiky hair, winter clothes and snowman (14 October 2024)
71786 Victor, male coffee grower with wheelbarrow (7 October 2024)
71787 Furniture; table, parasol, 2 chairs, bicycle (27 September 2024)
71788 Starbucks Store (27 September 2024)
71789 Starbucks Coffee Truck (14 October 2024)
Pictures of all the sets are visible here (http://ebay.com/itm/186700001162) (other sellers are available), though not all sets have been released yet. That seller states they will buy each set on the day they become available and ship them. Prices are eye-watering ($42.50 for each of the single-figure Buddy sets, $51.50 for the furniture set, $132.50 for the store and $148.50 for the truck). That's $652.50 for all eleven sets. That's 596.19 Euro or £499.27 or $898.59 Canadian. But that does include shipping!
Also available; Stand A and Stand B; each is a wooden (MDF) base which holds cardboard scenery and can display 4 figures (this may not be Playmobil). $54.50 each.

Afaik, prices are 16900 (about 12 eur) for the small sets + furniture, 79000 (54 eur) for the "store" and 99000 (67 eur) for the truck... Not sure if some or all also required some coffee to be bought. Even at cost, these are WAY too expensive :( (plus shipping and the ransom from those.... people.)
Some have been appearing in the wild.... I really wanted the large umbrellas - those I never found.
-
The resell prices are just outrageous....at least here in APAC. Luckily I am not really a fan of modern stuffs.
But I just envy all those in S. Korea, having all these country exclusive.

Thank you for the link
With how many Starbucks there are you’d think they’d try to distribute them all over

Maybe they took a page from geobra...

I wouldn't be surprised if Starbucks Korea is it's own company that pays Starbucks USA to use the name, and can strike their own deals as long as it's cleared by the parent company.

I wouldn’t be surprised either. I was thinking that playmobil themselves would attempt to get international distribution and perhaps they did with no luck. In today’s culture, getting Playmobil into a chain such as Starbucks would be similar to the McDonalds campaign
I could see a coffee drive through set where Geobra encouraged customers to up purchase the collector cars

McDonalds pulled the plug because of the small parts I recall. It would be 123 or similar meaning most kids wouldn't want it. Starbucks in Korea obviously doesn't have the same bubblewrap mentality that is the real choking hazard in the West.

Last time I checked there is no kids coffee options at Starbucks, hence why no one will care about choking kids

McDs has kid coffee options? Eitherway it sounds like South Korea could have a new tourism venture - kid choking tours for stress relief. Maybe give it a Simpsons theme.

Tsk, tsk. I ordered the coffee truck, as the dealer gave me a 10% discount & shipping was $3, from S Korea. Their original price was about $100 cheaper than what most other sellers were asking for.
I had ordered the other new sets from them earlier; 3 of the sets had banged-up boxes, so they added, I think to compensate, an extra clicky - the Starbucks astronaut - & 6 Korean facial masks. (!!!)
4 more clickys to go for this. 8}

It's easy to be scathing about the prices eBay sellers charge (I described them as 'eye-watering' in the first post), but these sets clearly aren't going to be available outside South Korea anytime soon and the return airfare to Seoul would be a lot more expensive, especially as you would have to go several times, or stay there for several weeks to be able to get the sets directly from Strarbucks. Put that way, these look quite competitively priced!

Now there’s an idea , Playmobil Simpson’s, or southPark

The dealer from S Korea is holding these 4 for me until Nov, when my PM budget is refreshed. That's great. They are:

The other thing to note here is how much better the colour palette of these sets is compared to much of the off the shelf sets. It's also what makes them compelling to purchase.
They should do a playmobil themed toy shop set with a delivery van.

Yes, absolutely. No obnoxious pastels of pink and purple

The final 4 clickys arrived, so I have the full series; it was painful to acquire & I was strict with myself in other areas of life to cover cost. For this last order, the seller included 5 more Korean facial masks & a very lovely Hello Kitty bag.... 8} ??? ::)
I ended up with one extra Starbucks shop due to damage with first one (one of the paper ground pieces was somewhat mangled) so I now have 2. I'm not too sure what to do - keep as an extra or...? The damage isn't too noticeable once it's assembled.

Well, you are going to have very nice skin from all these facials.
You could always ebay the bag. Hello Kitty is popular.
