Title: Overview of RC sets (but trains)
Post by: Little Jo on November 05, 2007, 20:44:17
Today a workmate asked me -- as Playmobil expert  :-[ -- if there are some RC vehicles (cars) from Playmobil available; he is seeking a gift for one of his family members (a child  :P). I confirmed that there are some available and that several vehicles could be pimped by drive unit. When he looked at the prices he was a little bit upset, especially because he have to buy the RC module separately. I adviced him to look on eBay for older sets. But then I must admit that I could not tell him a source where he can lookup all vehicles (but trains) every released to be expandable for the RC module. Does anybody know a published list?

If not, I just start here such a list, maybe you can help to complete it:

  3169 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3169) Tour Bus
  3181 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3181) Rescue Equipment Truck
  3213 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3213) Family Van
  3214 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3214) Emergency Service Van
  3263 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3263) Cement Mixer
  3265 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=3265) Dump Truck
  4087 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4087) THW Rescue Boat
  4322 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4322) Pickup Van
  4323 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4323) Lorry with Trailer
  4421 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4421) Off Road Race 4x4
  4483 (http://www.playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=4483) City Van

Does anybody know which was the initial RC capable set which introduced the RC module?

Great topic.

I don't know much at all about the RC line of vehicles, but set 3214 the Emergency Service Van is RC capable.

Great!  Looks like a re-release that follows the new Airport theme?  I really hope it makes to here in the US.

btw, any comments with regards to the old vs. new RC transmitter sets?  It looks like the only difference is a smaller kid friendly size?

AAAAAAAAND.... The old remote needed EIGHT (8!) 1.5V-Batteries to be operated and another 4 for the engine-block...
the new one only needs a 9v-block for the remote...  :yup:

best,
